Tennessee makes top-six for FCS Freshman All-American transfer

Tennessee football makes top-six for a FCS Freshman All-American transfer.

Former Campbell defensive back Myles Rowser announced his top-six teams on Thursday.

Tennessee, Colorado, New Mexico State, Penn State, LSU and Oregon are Rowser’s top-six schools.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defensive back is from Belleville High School in Detriot, Michigan.

As a true freshman in 2022, Rowser recorded 44 total tackles, one tackle for a loss, one interception and three pass breakups. He earned FCS Freshman All-American honors last season.

He signed with Campbell as a consensus four-star prospect in the class of 2022. He ranked as the No. 232 overall prospect and No. 4 player in Michigan, according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Rowser will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Pittman and Co. get it done on early signing day

Sam Pittman and his staff were able to recruit one of Arkansas’ best classes, especially with regards to in-state players.

Sam Pittman and his staff were rewarded both for their work on the recruiting trail and during an 8-win 2021 campaign on Wednesday.

20 players inked letters of intent and two transfers (Jadon Haselwood and Landon Jackson) both signed with the Razorbacks.

Pittman was already in a good mood based on the previous day’s news about Jalen Catalon.

He also said during a press conference on Wednesday that he didn’t anticipate losing either Kendal Briles nor Barry Odom.

The only player that is committed to Arkansas that did not sign during the early period on Wednesday was 4-star safety Myles Rowser out of Belleville High School in Detroit, Mich.

Rowser intends on signing in February, but there are rumors that he is wavering on his commitment.

National team rankings as of 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday were as follows:

247 Sports: 13th (7th in SEC)

Rivals: 12th (6th in SEC)

ON3: 20th (9th in SEC)

Should be a consensus top 20 class when all is said and done.

Michigan State is still alive for one of the state’s top prospects in the 2022 class in four-star safety Myles Rowser of Belleville, Mich.

Rowser announced his top four schools on Monday morning, including the Spartans, Kentucky, Arkansas and Alabama. As you can see, Michigan State is the lone midwestern school to still be in the running for Rowser.

Rowser is listed as the No. 3 prospect in Michigan for the class of 2022 and No. 131 overall recruit in the class, according to 247Sports. He’s also ranked as the No. 9 Safety in the class.

It’s unsure currently who is in the lead for Rowser, with crystal ball projections listing Arkansas and Michigan as the favorites. The Wolverines are apparently no longer in play, making the Razorbacks the potential leaders at the moment.

Notre Dame football 2022 defensive recruit wishlist

A look at which defensive players with Notre Dame offer that would be great additions to the 2022 recruiting class.

A few weeks ago, I took a look at which Notre Dame recruits on offense who currently held offers and could potentially join the growing 2022 class. Realistically, some of them could join, some of them might end up elsewhere, but one can wish right? We’ll, it’s time for the other side of the ball, my ’22 defense recruit wishlist for the Irish.

Irish offer class of 2022 Florida Safety Rowser

Notre Dame offers former Michigan commit Myles Rowser who now preps in Florida.

The Notre Dame football staff saw their class of 2022 work finally be rewarded last week as offensive tackle Joey Tanona and tight end Jack Nickel became the first two verbal commits for the class. As the recruiting cycle continues, so do the efforts of the Irish as they last night offered Florida safety Myles Rowser.

A Michigan native, who just recently moved to IMG Academy to get ready for his collegiate career. Rowser has already committed once, to home state Michigan, but opted to reopen his recruitment. The 6-foot-1-inch and 185-pound safety already holds 22 offers including Florida, Penn State and obviously Michigan. He will not be afraid to return to play his collegiate football in the Midwest, but it seems like Rowser could have the ability to play in almost any region.

The Irish hope that a return to the Midwest is the case, more specifically South Bend. Rowser is currently ranked as the 151st overall player nationally and the 10th ranked safety by the 247Sports composite. The Irish are making some waves in the 2022 class, and a future addition of Rowser would be more than welcome.

2022 S Myles Rowser re-opens recruitment (story with update)

The Wolverines lost one of its two members of the 2022 class, but one person told WolverinesWire there’s a reason to still think he returns.

We’re a little late to this, but Michigan got some not so good news in the 2022 class, with four-star safety Myles Rowser backing off of his firm commitment from the Wolverines.

The younger brother of current Michigan cornerback Andre Seldon Jr., Rowser was the second verbal commit of the 2022 class, as well as another legacy like Alex VanSumeren — the younger brother of linebacker Ben and the first to commit in Dec. 2019.

However, as first reported by Rivals.com’s Ohio State and Rutgers recruiting reporter, the recent transfer from Belleville (MI) to Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy has chosen to re-open his recruitment, thus backing off from his verbal commitment to play football in Ann Arbor.

Rowser spoke to Rivals recruiting guru Josh Helmholdt to explain his decision yesterday.

Questions about Michigan class of 2022 commit Myles Rowser and his recruiting status started to arise Thursday night, so the four-star defensive back clarified exactly where things stand.

“I have fully opened my recruitment, but I am still very interested in Michigan,” Rowser explained. “Nothing really changed. I still love the coaches there, I love how they run the defense. My brother is at Michigan now, so he can tell me more stuff about Michigan and it just boosted my interest.”

As noted, Michigan is still firmly in the chase, it just can’t count at the moment on him ending up in the class.

While that’s usually the death knell in recruiting, it’s not unheard of a prospect to back off his commitment and eventually end up back in the class. It happened years ago with William Campbell of Detroit (MI) Cass Tech fame. And it happened this past recruiting cycle with 2020 Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy safety Lejond Cavazos, who decommitted from Ohio State before rejoining the class months later.

We spoke to one person close to the situation who requested anonymity who shared Michigan’s chances at still securing Rowser’s commitment once again.

“Definitely — it’s a great chance he does (re-commit to Michigan),” that person told WolverinesWire. “But he’s a 15-year old kid that just wants to explore and make sure he makes the right decision for him and no one else.”

Rowser currently has a reported 20 offers, including the likes of Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Nebraska and Penn State.

Now that he’s ranked as a four-star and getting more attention at IMG Academy, it makes sense that he takes his time to make sure he makes the right choice. Naturally, as a more visible player than he was at the time of his Jan. 2020 commitment, he’ll have to make sure that wherever he ends up, it’s the right place for him.

Michigan sits in a good spot. He’s visited many times and has a brother already on campus as an early-enrollee. Now it’ll be up to him to see if there’s somewhere else that’s a better fit, or if he was right the first time around.

Michigan commit transfers to IMG Academy

The newest Wolverines commit is going to finish his high school career at the prestigious football powerhouse.

[jwplayer 8Ros55Hw-XNcErKyb]
2022 Michigan commitment, safety Myles Rowser — the younger brother of 2020 cornerback signee Andre Seldon — has proved his mettle at Belleville (MI), but now he’s ready to show the nation what he’s got.

The standout who’s been accumulating top-level offers before pledging to the Wolverines wants to show he can play with the best of the best. That’s why Rowser is making a huge move, from the familiar confines of Metro Detroit to the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida — the veritable powerhouse which has produced several high-end recruits, from the five-stars that have gone to the likes of Alabama, LSU — and even Michigan, as IMG alum Shea Patterson transferred from Oxford, Miss. to Ann Arbor — and multiple four-stars.

In essence, IMG Academy is an all-star team at the high school-level. And Rowser announced on Twitter that’s where he’s headed.

Michigan has been the benefactor of many recruits from the prestigious Florida school. Beyond Patterson, Cesar Ruiz, outgoing linebacker (via transfer) Jordan Anthony and LB Charles Thomas (who transferred to St. Thomas More in Connecticut for his senior year of high school) are among the recent Wolverines who hail from said institution.

It’s also not out of character for a local Detroit-area recruit to transfer there, as former Orchard Lake (MI) St. Mary’s standout KJ Hamler — who went on to have a stellar career at Penn State — also made the move from the Midwest to the Sunshine State.

Also, IMG Academy is where Michigan spent its first week of spring ball in a controversial move back in late March 2016.

Rowser is not yet ranked in the 2022 class, but it will only be a matter of time, given how high profile his new school is from a national perspective. He still has two years at the high school level.

Michigan nabs second 2022 commit from in-state

And just like that, there were two — in both the 2021 and now the 2022 class for Michigan football.

And similar to the first commit of the 2022 cycle, it’s something of a legacy.

When Essexville (MI) Garber defensive athlete Alex VanSumeren committed in recent months, it wasn’t much of a surprise, given that his older brother Ben is already on the football team. Well, there will be another sibling duo in Ann Arbor, though the elder brother of Michigan’s newest commit just arrived on campus in official capacity earlier this month.

Both early-enrollee cornerback Andre Seldon and his younger brother, Belleville (MI) safety Myles Rowser, have been frequent visitors to campus. While Seldon is now officially a Wolverine, Rowser decided he should follow suit, pledging to the Wolverines on Monday evening via Twitter.

There are not yet rankings for the 2022 commits, but if Rowser’s offer list indicates anything, the safety should be a good one. He currently has offers from the likes of Florida, Penn State, Florida State, Nebraska and Tennessee.
