Florida offers Arizona WR commit, official visit in the works

Florida is looking to add another receiver to its recruiting class of 2025 and recently offered Arizona commit Muizz Tounkara out of Texas.

Florida is still adding names to its 2025 recruiting board, including Arizona wide receiver commit [autotag]Muizz Tounkara[/autotag], according to Gators Online.

The Texas native who played out of Clear Springs in League City, picked up an offer from the Gators on Halloween and is planning an official visit to The Swamp. Tounkara says that he plans to travel to Gainesville on Nov. 23 for Florida’s final home game against Ole Miss.

“The Gators have been in contact with me for about a week now,” Tounkara told On3 last weekend. “Joe Hamilton, Billy Napier and Coach (Billy) Gonzales. (Gonzales) is telling me they need a big-body receiver that can stretch the field and make plays on special teams, too.”

The push for Tounkara comes after West Broward receiver Joshua Moore flipped his commitment from Florida to Miami. The Gators still have a pair of four-star receivers under commitment, but they play a different style at the position.

Tounkara considers and offer from an SEC team such as Florida to be a difference maker, one that would have him heavily considering backing off his verbal commitment to Arizona.

Recruiting Summary

A consensus three-star recruit, Tounkara is ranked the highest by 247Sports at No. 92 among wide receivers in the class of 2025. The 247Sports composite has him at No. 829 overall and No. 128 at this position, while the On3 composite puts him at Nos. 818 and 128, respectively.

Arkansas currently leads the On3 recruiting prediction machine with 22.9% of the prediction, closely followed by Kansas (20.1%) and Vanderbilt (17.2%). Arizona still holds 14.3% of the prediction thanks to his verbal commitment.

Here’s what 247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks has to say about him:

“Tall, long, lean, and athletic with a longer stride and corresponding build-up speed that influences field-stretching ability and return game juice. Experience in all three phases with snaps at corner facing Texas 6A competition in Houston metro.

“Capable of winning contested throws in traffic thanks to frame, high-pointing acumen, and body control in the air. Capable of go-get-it grabs against overmatched high school defenders.

“Looks tough on tape with willingness to work the middle of the field and affect the screen / perimeter run games as a blocker. Still honing route-running snap/technique, but possesses the twitch to foster consistent late-separating ability and top-of-the-route pop.”

Tounkara is currently ranked as 247Sports’ No. 764 player in the class of 2025, No. 118 wide receiver and No. 127 player from the state of Texas. He was originally predicted to pick the Badgers back in late May. Those predictions flipped to Arizona this week as his commitment date drew closer.

247Sports does have one crystal ball prediction logged for Tounkara to choose the Badgers. It came from Badger247’s Nick Osen back on May 30, 2024. On3, meanwhile, still has several programs with good odds to land his commitment.

Wisconsin football class of 2025 WR target announces commitment date

Wisconsin football class of 2025 wide receiver target Muizz Tounkara will announce his collegiate commitment on July 13.

The three-star wide receiver’s announcement coincides with the release of his top three schools. Wisconsin, alongside Kansas and Arizona, will vie for the Texas native’s commitment in mid-July.

The decision date and top three arrive roughly three weeks after Tounkara picked up a 247Sports crystal ball prediction to land with the Badgers.

The prediction came from Badger247’s Nick Osen and was given with a ‘medium’ confidence level. Still, the forecast remains the only one on Tounkara’s recruiting profile thus far.

247sports ranks the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder as the No. 744 player in the class of 2025, No. 116 wide receiver and No. 124 recruit from his home state of Texas. The rising senior ventured to UW for an official visit on May 31 before heading to Lawrence, Kansas and Tucson, Arizona the weekend of June 7 and June 14, respectively.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 recently added four-star LB Mason Posa, four-star WR Eugene Hilton Jr. and three-star DL Wilnerson Telemaque, bringing the group’s overall total to 20 commitments. Nine of those commitments have come since the June official visit window began. The possible addition of Tounkara would bring those totals to 21 and 10 respectively.

In addition to Hilton at the wide receiver position, UW has also secured a commitment from three-star Cameron Miller.

Wisconsin football made the final three schools for three-star class of 2025 wide receiver Muizz Tounkara on Friday.

The Badgers were included along with Arizona and Kansas.

The announcement arrives roughly three weeks after the Texas native picked up a 247Sports crystal ball prediction to land in Madison.

247sports ranks Tounkara as the No.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 recently took a big step forward after the recent additions of four-star LB Mason Posa, four-star WR Eugene Hilton Jr. and three-star DL Wilnerson Telemaque. The Badgers now hold 20 total commitments, five of which from blue-chip players.

The class is a successful follow-up performance by Luke Fickell and his staff after finishing the 2024 cycle with a top-25 class. The possible addition of Tounkara would only further that success.

In addition to Hilton, UW also landed three-star WR Cameron Miller in mid-May. Tounkara’s inclusion in Wisconsin’s May 31 official visit window indicates his importance to Phil Longo’s offensive unit, and his acquisition would only bolster one of the most significant position groups for the Badgers going forward.

Tounkara is 247Sports’ No. 635 player in the class of 2025, No. 102 wide receiver and No. 113 recruit from his home state of Texas.

The 6’3″ wide receiver is currently in Madison, Wisconsin for his official visit. Of note, he also has visits scheduled to Kansas on June 7, Vanderbilt on June 14 and Arkansas on June 21.

Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell and offensive coordinator Phil Longo are still working to establish the roster after taking over for Paul Chryst after the 2022 season. Wide receiver has been a position of focus, with six transfer additions at the position over two offseasons plus several more additions from the high school ranks.

Tounkara appears to be one of the program’s bigger wide receiver targets in the class, given his inclusion in the first official visit weekend of the year. 247Sports thinks the Badgers are narrowing in on a commitment.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 currently ranks No. 19 in the nation with 11 players committed. It has landed one wide receiver so far: three-star Cameron Miller.
