Michigan State football’s recruiting efforts can’t stop and won’t stop. The Spartans have made another offer to a 2022 recruit from Louisiana. This time, 3-star ILB Kailep Edwards announces he has received an offer from MSU Football. Edwards is from Edgard and plays for West St. John high school.

Edwards stands at 5’11” and weighs 219 pounds. He is the 9th-ranked ILB in all of the 2022 recruiting class, per 247 Sports Rankings. Furthermore, he is the No. 18 prospect in all of Lousiana. The Spartans have made yet another sweet offer.

Right now, Edwards also has offers from Colorado, Memphis, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss.

MSU Football lands first commitment of Mel Tucker era in 3-star RB Davion Primm

Michigan State has landed the first commit of the 2021 recruiting class in Oak Park RB Davion Primm.

Ever since Mel Tucker arrived in East Lansing, fans have watched as Michigan State sent out offer after offer to top recruits around the country. While it was nice to see the due diligence being done by the new administration, some fans were getting antsy with the lack of actual commitments coming in. Well, that changed Tuesday night when 2021 3-star running back Davion Primm posted his commitment on his Twitter account, marking the first commitment of the Tucker Era and of the 2021 MSU recruiting class.

Primm, who is out of Oak Park, Michigan, is the No. 86 ranked running back in the 2021 recruiting class according to 247sports‘ composite ranking. They also have him listed as the No. 31 ranked player in the state of Michigan.

This recruitment is accredited to MSU running backs coach William Peagler and Primm is a nice first addition to the 2021 class.

It also looks like there could be more commitments coming soon, as Primm’s high school teammate and MSU recruiting target Rayshaun Benny seemed to indicate that his decision could be incoming:

Benny visited Michigan State back in early March along with a few other top local prospects.

Michigan State Football re-offers 2021 4-star CB Kalen King

MSU has decided to re-offer 2021 4-star cornerback Kalen King out of Cass Tech in Detroit.

Part of the recruiting process for Mel Tucker and his staff at Michigan State will not just be to identify new recruiting prospects, but also to look at the work Mark Dantonio and his staff had already done and see who they would like to stick with and re-offer. One player who Tucker decided to re-offer was Cass Tech cornerback Kalen King, who announced the reaffirmation of his scholarship offer on Monday on Twitter.

King is a 4-star cornerback in the 2021 class, according to the 247sports composite rankings. 247sports has him as the No. 10 ranked player in Michigan for his recruiting class and the No. 24 overall cornerback.

King is currently projected by 247sports to head to Penn State.

Caleb Banks hails from Southfield, MI where he plays for Southfield high school. He stands at 6’6″ and weighs 255 pounds. According to 247 Sports Composite Rankings, he ranks as the No. 77 OT in the nation in the 2021 recruiting class. He also ranks as the No. 25 prospect in Michigan in the 2021 recruiting class. Note, Banks has listed the Spartans in his top 11 choices for school.

Patrick Tukes is a DT from Mcrae, GA and plays for Telfair County. He is 6’3″ and weighs a solid 270 pounds. Per 247 Sports Composite Rankings, he ranks as the No. 47 DT in the 2021 recruiting class. He also ranks as the No. 71 prospect in Georgia in all of the 2021 recruiting class.
