Summer Olympics: Morocco vs. USMNT odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Morocco vs. USMNT odds and lines, with expert Olympics soccer picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The USMNT battles Morocco Friday at Parc des Princes in Paris. Kickoff is set for 9 a.m. ET (USA Network / Telemundo / Peacock). Below, we preview FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Morocco vs. USWNT odds, and make our expert Summer Olympic picks and predictions.

The USMNT didn’t have a strong start to Olympic competition, losing 3-0 to France in Marseille July 24. The Americans followed by taking down New Zealand 4-1 Saturday and Guinea 3-0 Tuesday. This will be the first time the USMNT is in the Olympic knockout stage since 2000. MF Djordje Mihailovic, who plays for the Colorado Rapids, is the lone player that scored in both the USMNT’s last 2 matches.

Morocco beat Argentina 2-1 to start its Olympic competition — Argentina also qualified and will play France in the quarterfinals. It then lost to Ukraine 2-1 and finished off its group stage with a 3-0 victory over Iraq. F Soufiane Rahim, who plays for Al Ain, is a player to keep an eye on as he’s scored in each of Morocco’s Olympic Games.

Morocco vs. USMNT picks and predictions

Prediction

USMNT 1, Morocco 1

Moneyline (ML)

TAKE DRAW (+240).

While the tournament, to most viewers, appears as a U23 event, there are 3 exceptions per team, and the USMNT used those to bolster its backline, adding D Walker Zimmerman and D Miles Robinson, both of which will likely start. They will bring veteran experience and communication and will be help a red-hot USMNT. While the USMNT struggled in its only competitive match, Morocco hasn’t competed much better, failing to put away Ukraine.

Despite scoring 6 goals, 2 of those were from the penalty which isn’t likely to be repeated. It lost to Ukraine, throttled Iraq, and despite winning, had 7 fewer shots than Argentina. Morocco is a rightful favorite but isn’t that much better than the USMNT. This should be a competitive and tight match, giving value to the draw.

DRAW (+240) is the way to go.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (-121).

The USMNT has gone Over each game, but it has allowed just 1 goal in its last 2 and hasn’t played competent defenses. It was held scoreless in its 1st game against France.

Morocco has a similar story. It has allowed 3 goals while scoring 6, totaling just 3 of those against Ukraine and Argentina and ending with just 3 shots on frame against the latter.

The nature of the knockout stage typically suggests fewer goals. In the 6 games between the quarterfinals and semifinals of the 2020 Summer Olympics, 4 of those games went Under a 2.5 total. With the USMNT beefing up its defense with experience, expect fewer goals.

TAKE UNDER 2.5 (-121).

In the 2020 Summer games in Japan — which due to COVID were actually held in 2021 — Brazil won the men’s soccer gold medal, Spain took home silver and Mexico picked up bronze. On the women’s side, Canada won gold, Sweden claimed silver and the USWNT secured bronze.

In the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, host nation Brazil secured the gold medal in men’s soccer, with Germany ending up with the silver and Nigeria coming up with a bronze.

In 2012, it was Mexico topping Brazil in London, with South Korea winning the bronze. In 2008, the medal winners on the men’s side in Beijing were Argentina (gold), Nigeria (silver) and Brazil (bronze).

Going back to 2004, the medal winners on the men’s side in Athens were Argentina (gold), Paraguay (silver) and Italy (bronze). In 2000 in Australia, Cameroon (gold), Spain (silver) and Chile (bronze) were your medal winners on the men’s side.

And, if you remember the 1996 Atlanta games, our medal winners on the men’s side were Nigeria (gold), Argentina (silver) and Brazil (bronze), while in 1992, Spain (gold), Poland (silver) and Ghana (bronze) claimed medals.

2024 Olympics men’s soccer — expert pick

FRANCE (+210)

The men’s soccer tournament was last won by a host nation at Rio 2016 when Brazil claimed the gold medal. Les Bleus look to delight the home fans this summer, and France enters as the chalk to do just that.

As mentioned, a European nation hasn’t won the gold medal in the men’s soccer tournament since the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

France is in Group A with United States, Guinea and New Zealand. However, if you’re looking for F Kylian Mbappe on manager Thierry Henry’s roster, you’ll be sorely disappointed. His new club Real Madrid was against the idea of their big investment competing in the Olympic format.

Alexandre Lacazette, who plays for Lyon in French Ligue 1, is the captain in Mbappe’s place. Another star France will look to is teen phenom F Desire Doue, who plays for Stade Rennais in Ligue 1.

Being the host nation, while having several strong club players, gives France the upper hand — or leg — in the men’s tournament.

2024 Olympics men’s soccer — contender

MOROCCO (+1400)

Morocco has never won an Olympic medal in men’s soccer, but Atlas Lions have a very good chance of not only getting on the podium, but winning the whole thing.

We saw the quality of Moroccan football at the World Cup in Qatar in 2022, as they captured the imagination of fans everywhere, upsetting Spain in the Round of 16 and taking down Portugal 1-0 in the quarterfinals before eventually bowing out against France in the semis. It also lost the 3rd-place match to Croatia, but still made its presence as a world power known.

Manager Tarik Sektioui has plenty of star power on his squad, and a lot of the players are known to French fans, playing club soccer all around the country. In fact, MFs Amir Richardson (Stade de Reims), Yassine Kechta and Oussama Targhalline (Le Havre AC), F Eliesse Ben Seghir (AS Monaco), MF Benjamin Bouchouari (Saint-Etienne) and D Achraf Hakimi (Paris-St. Germain) all play in France for a paycheck.

It gets real in a hurry for Morocco as it opens against Argentina. But, it’s a watered-down Argentina as most of its major stars — who won the past 2 Copa Americas and the World Cup — are sitting out this tourney.

2024 Olympics men’s soccer — long shot

UKRAINE (+3000)

This isn’t some kind of conspiracy theory, but how much of a feel-good story would it be if The Blue and Yellow were able to make a run in the Paris games, taking their fellow countrymen’s minds off of the terrible war against Russia, at least for a little while?

Don’t write it off as far-fetched. The national team has been playing home matches in Lodz, Poland, and it collected 4 points in the UEFA Euro 2024, losing 3-0 to Romania, topping Slovakia 2-1 and playing to a scoreless draw against Belgium to just miss a trip out of the knockout stages.

Manager Ruslan Rotan has a squad full of mostly players from club teams in Ukraine, obviously relocated due to the war. That includes MFs Dmytro Kryskiv and Kyrylo Siheiev, who play for FC Shakhtar Donetsk. F Danylo Sikan and GK Kiril Fesiun also play for Donetsk, and MF Maksym Braharu plays for FC Dynamo Kyiv.

Don’t overlook Ukraine as this team might play with more heart than any of the other squads in the Olympics combined.

2023 Women’s World Cup: France vs. Morocco odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s France vs. Morocco odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In the final Round of 16 match, France battles Morocco Tuesday. Kickoff from Hindmarsh Stadium is set for 7 a.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the France vs. Morocco odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

France was the favorite in Group F coming into the Group Stage and it emerged as the No. 1 seed, netting 7 points from 2 wins and a draw. Le Bleues scored 8 goals and allowed 4 throughout matches against Jamaica, Brazil and Panama. Particularly impressive was the 2-1 over Brazil — the only other top-10 nation in its group.  France sits 10th in the world per FIFA Women’s Ranking.

Morocco surprisingly made it through one of the more difficult groups, Group H. Top-20 nations South Korea (17) and Germany (2) were sent home in the group stage with Morocco (72) and Colombia (25) advancing. Morocco finished group play with 6 points from 2 wins and a loss. The defeat was a stunning 6-0 loss at the hand of Germany in its opener, but it bounced back with a pair of 1-0 victories over South Korea and Colombia. Its -4 goal differential was the tournament’s only negative mark to advance to the knockout stage.

France vs. Morocco odds

  • Moneyline: France -625 (bet $625 to win $100) | Morocco +1400 (bet $100 to win $1400) | Draw +650
  • Over/Under: 3.5 (O: +120 | U: -165)

France vs. Morocco picks and predictions

Prediction

France 4, Morocco 1

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Morocco advanced, but it lost 6-0 to Germany in its lone match against a technically-sound opponent. France is a nation that should be just as lethal in the final third. France (-625) scored 8 goals in the group stage and should be able to get through Morocco’s defense with ease. However, it is far too expensive to play outright.

France did allow 4 goals in the group stage, so BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE: YES (+130) does offer some value. I would preferably play the total straight up though.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 3.5 (+115).

F Kadidiatou Diani is a star up top for France, netting a hat trick against Panama. She’s a great option in the box and has a proven record of being a top-tier goal scorer. France tallied 6 on a weaker Panama side and even scored 2 on Brazil. It should be able to break through consistently on Morocco. It had 59 shots through 3 group stage matches.

Morocco scored twice and allowed 6, all to Germany. France’s style of play and pace will be more similar to Germany’s than it is to South Korea’s or Colombia’s. Considering France’s defensive flaws against Panama, Morocco could get on the board here as well.

Expect France to put it on early. Take OVER 3.5 (+120).

2023 Women’s World Cup: Morocco vs. Colombia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Morocco vs. Colombia odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Morocco (1 win, 0 draws, 1 loss) takes on Colombia (2-0-0) in both nation’s last group stage match Thursday. Kickoff from nib Stadium is set for 6 a.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Morocco vs. Colombia odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Morocco was destroyed in its Group H opener, losing 6-0 to Germany. Germany ended with 16 shots and 7 on frame, which compared favorably to Morocco’s 6 and 4. Morocco did beat South Korea 1-0 Sunday. South Korea had 16 shots but none on frame. Morocco ended with 2 on frame and the lone goal of the game. Per the FIFA Women’s Ranking, Morocco sits as the 72nd-best nation.

Colombia has been among the most impressive nations at the World Cup. It sits 25th in the world yet took down No. 2 Germany. Colombia beat Germany 2-1 in its second match and South Korea 2-0 to open up its tournament play. It had more shots on goal than both its opponents, outnumbering Germany 4 to 2.

Morocco vs. Colombia odds

Provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 7:20 a.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Morocco +550 (bet $100 to win $550) | Colombia -200 (bet $200 to win $100) | Draw +300
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +120 | U: -165)

Morocco vs. Colombia picks and predictions

Prediction

Colombia 2, Morocco 1

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Colombia has been very impressive so far, but the main concern is that it didn’t crush South Korea as it should’ve. It won 2-0, owning possession for 57% of the match and having just 2 more shots on frame. That should make bettors hesitant to back a (-200) favorite, especially one that sat outside of the top 20 nations before the tournament.

Similarly, Morocco has not played well and gave up 16 shots to South Korea. Expect Colombia to have a heyday with its porous defense. Ultimately, given the values, pass on a moneyline wager.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (+120).

Columbia’s offense has been dynamic while Morocco’s defense has been subpar. Columbia ended the match with 17 shots on South Korea. It had 9 on Germany. It has had 4 goals and 9 shots on goal through 2 matches. Colombia only needs a draw to win the group and could lay off the gas late.

Morocco allowed 16 shots to South Korea and Germany yet conceived only 2 goals. If Colombia gets off 16 shots, it should get at least 2 in the back of the net. Throughout the 2 matches, it also had 16 shots and put 6 of those on frame, so it isn’t too unlikely Morocco also finds a way to get on the board.

Morocco’s strength has not been its defense while Colombia has won so far with its press and technical finishing. Expect it to break through often. Take OVER 2.5 (+120).

2023 Women’s World Cup: South Korea vs. Morocco odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s South Korea vs. Morocco odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

South Korea (0 wins, 0 draws, 1 loss) takes on Morocco (0-0-1) Sunday in each nation’s 2nd 2023 Women’s World Cup match. Kickoff from Hindmarsh Stadium is set for 12:30 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the South Korea vs. Morocco odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

South Korea lost 2-0 to Columbia Monday. It ended the game with 5 shots, 3 of those being on target. It also had 42% of the possession. It allowed 17 shots (5 on target) to Columbia. South Korea didn’t live up to expectations as it sits 17th in the Women’s World Rankings. South Korea won 3 straight friendlies before the World Cup, beating Haiti, which made the tournament 2-1 July 8.

Morocco faced the top-ranked Group H side, Germany, to commence its World Cup action. It was dominated from the start, allowing a goal in the 11th minute and eventually losing 6-0. It did manage 4 shots on target which was just 3 fewer than Germany. The concerning part came in the possession in which Morocco had just 26%. Morocco ranks 72nd in the world.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +125 | U: -175)

South Korea vs. Morocco picks and predictions

Prediction

South Korea 1, Morocco 0

Moneyline (ML)

BET SOUTH KOREA (-165).

This is just on the edge of being unplayable, but South Korea will need a win to keep its World Cup knockout stage aspirations alive. It could get lucky and take on a carefree Germany side if it beats Columbia.

A win here keeps Korea alive. It didn’t perform well against Columbia but will be facing a more porous defense. Morocco struggled heavily in the defending third, scoring 2 own goals.

South Korea’s form coming into the World Cup, taking down Haiti and winning 3 in a row, give enough confidence to lay the juice here. Morocco lost 3 of 5 coming into the World Cup, one of which was a 1-0 defeat to Jamaica.

Given South Korea should have the more technically sound players and the better defense, take SOUTH KOREA (-165).

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN UNDER ALTERNATE 1.5 (+165).

Morocco’s offense is not good and has not produced over the last several months. Morocco hasn’t scored in 6 straight games and has gone Under even this total in 4 of its last 5.

Although a 6-0 defeat is jarring, Germany is among the top nations in the world and played like one. While South Korea should press enough to score and win, it had just 3 shots on goal against Columbia.

South Korea’s offense struggled against Columbia and Morocco’s hasn’t been existent since February. Take UNDER 1.5 (+165).

2023 Women’s World Cup: Germany vs. Morocco odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Germany vs. Morocco odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[anyclip pubname=”2129″ widgetname=”0016M00002U0B1kQAF_M8190″]

Germany battles Morocco on Monday in the first Women’s World Cup action for both nations. Kickoff in the Group H battle from Melbourne Rectangular Stadium is set for 4:30 a.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Germany vs. Morocco odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Germany earned a bid for the World Cup by winning Group H in UEFA qualification last September. Since then Germany has played 9 matches, winning 5, losing 3 and drawing 1. It beat USA 2-1 in a friendly on Nov. 10. Germany is led by F Alexandra Popp, who has 128 caps and 62 international goals.

Morocco qualified by being the quarterfinal winner of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. In 2023, it has posted a 2-3-2 record. It does have draws against Italy and Switzerland, both of which are top-20 nations. F Ghizlane Chebbak is the most notable player. She captains the team and has had 61 caps and 21 international goals.

Germany is 2nd in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings and Morocco is 72nd.

  • Over/Under: 3.5 (O: +130 | U: -185)

Germany vs. Morocco picks and predictions

Prediction

Germany 4, Morocco 0

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Germany is the heavy favorite here, and the odds strongly suggest Morocco isn’t going to score either. BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (-350) isn’t worth backing. Neither is Germany to win outright at (-1000).

Germany has the talent and experience to go all the way in this tournament and truly challenge the top-ranked USA. Morocco is making its Women’s World Cup debut and won’t have the firepower to keep pace against a powerhouse like Germany.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 3.5 (-185).

Germany has a few of the best players in the world, and it should move along flawlessly. M Lena Oberdorf and Popp were both ranked top-10 players. The talent for Germany in the attack is there, and it should break through consistently.

Germany has poured it on against weaker sides, scoring 8 on Bulgaria in a qualifying match last season. Germany has scored in its last 4 games, one of which was against Brazil and another against the Netherlands.

Morocco hasn’t scored in 5 straight matches, so it may not be much help on the total. It did score 5 goals in its 1st 2 games of 2023, so it may be able to squeeze 1 in at some point.

But, backing a dynamic Germany attack to show its best is worth the wager. Take OVER 3.5 (-185).

2022 World Cup: Morocco vs. Croatia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Morocco vs. Croatia 3rd-place match odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 3rd-place Game of the 2022 World Cup has Morocco and Croatia meeting Saturday at Khalifa International Stadium. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. ET (FOX/Telemundo). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Morocco vs. Croatia odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

The dream run for Morocco is nearly over. It was unable to bounce defending World Cup champ France Wednesday, falling 2-0 in the semi-final. However, it has still been a miraculous run for the African nation.

Morocco defeated Portugal and Spain in the knockout stages, while also topping world power Belgium in the group stage. This side has used suffocating defense and timely scoring to make a deep run in Qatar.

These teams actually each met in Group F play to open their World Cup runs, playing to a scoreless draw in that match back on Nov. 23. It was an even battle, too, with both sides accounting for 5 total shots with 1 shot on goal per side. Croatia dominated the possession at 61.0%-to-39.0%.

The “Kockasti”, or Checkered Ones, came up short in their bid for a 2nd straight World Cup Final. Croatia was pounded 3-0 by Argentina in their semi-final game Tuesday.

It has been a magical run for Croatia, too, as it bounced World Cup favorite Brazil in the Quarterfinal, while also stopping Japan on penalties in the Round of 16.

Prediction

Croatia 2, Morocco 1

Moneyline (ML)

This is the only rematch of the entire 2022 World Cup, and the first time we saw a scoreless draw between these sides.

I think both teams will be a little looser, taking some chances to push the ball up and down the pitch. Nobody likes to be in the 3rd-place match, coming up just short of a title, but it is usually an entertaining affair.

CROATIA (+135) has a little more offensive firepower, and it should get it done in a fun match.

Over/Under (O/U)

In 2018, Belgium upended England 2-0, and in 2014 we saw Netherlands drop Brazil 3-0. In fact, in 10 of the past 11 third-place matches dating back to 1978 have seen 3 or more total goals.

While we saw a scoreless draw the first time these teams played each other, there is no pressure in this match, and it should be much more wide-open. OVER 2.5 (-115) is the way to go, especially based on the lengthy history of the 3rd-place match.

2022 World Cup: Morocco vs. France odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Morocco vs. France semifinal match odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 2nd seminfinal matchup of the 2022 World Cup has Morocco and France meeting Wednesday at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor at 2 p.m. ET (FOX/Telemundo). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Morocco vs. France odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Morocco pulled off a stunner Saturday in a 1-0 quarterfinal win against Portugal. The entire Iberia Peninsula isn’t a fan of the African nation, and Morocco also ousted neighbor Spain in the Round 16 on penalty kicks.

The Atlas Lions are easily the Cinderella of this World Cup, scoring just 5 goals while conceding only 1 goal in 5 matches. They are 24th in the FIFA world rankings.

France, the defending champions and No. 3 team in the world, showed England the door with a 2-1 win in the quarterfinal. Les Bleus has been much more prolific on offense, registering 11 goals, with at least 2 markers in 4 of the 5 matches.

Kylian Mbappe is vying for the Golden Boot as top scorer with 5 goals in 5 matches, and he has tacked on 2 assists. Teammate Olivier Giroud is right on Mbappe’s tail with 4 goals in 4 matches.

Argentina and Croatia play the 1st semifinal match on Tuesday.

Prediction

France 1, Morocco 0

Moneyline (ML)

Morocco has been doing a tremendous job in this tournament, especially defensively. But this isn’t a side which has shown an ability to score, and that’s not good against Les Bleus. The miracle run is coming to an end in the semifinal against the defending champs, and that’s nothing to be ashamed about.

While France (-190) is a little on the expensive side, a play in the Double section with FRANCE AND UNDER 2.5 GOALS (+185) for a chance to nearly double up is too hard to pass up.

In addition, FRANCE TO WIN WITH A CLEAN SHEET (+105) is also a solid play at plus-money.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (-150) is a little on the pricey side, but if you like to play it safe, that’s the way to go.

If you like to roll the dice a little, and trust a 1-0 score for the final, play UNDER 1.5 (+190) for a chance to nearly double up.

2022 World Cup: Morocco vs. Portugal odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Morocco vs. Portugal odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Morocco and Portugal face off Saturday at Al Thumama Stadium. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Morocco vs. Portugal odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Portugal beat Switzerland 6-1 on Tuesday and Cristiano Ronaldo‘s benching was the top story coming into the match. Did we watch one of Ronaldo’s final games with Portugal? Or did we watch the ascent of the man who started in his place, Goncalo Ramos? Ramos scored a hat trick in the rout and looks to prove that game was more than an anomaly.

Morocco also entertained in their 0-0 win over Spain (after penalties). The North African team held Spain scoreless even with penalty kicks, Spain missed their 3 attempts and had 13 shots in the match. Despite the great defensive effort, Morocco comes into Saturday as the obvious underdog.

Prediction

Portugal 2 Morocco 1

Moneyline (ML)

Portugal is 5th in shots (54), compared to Morocco’s 24th (30). Portugal also 8% more accurate in their passes. They will most likely control the ball throughout the match. It’s juice-filled, but BET PORTUGAL -145.

Over/Under (O/U)

Defense versus offense. Morocco has only allowed 1 goal so far, against Canada while Portugal has scored in each World Cup match this year.

But Portugal’s defense has allowed a goal in all but 1 game (against Uruguay), while Morocco has scored 4 goals in group play. I expect a higher scoring game so I LEAN OVER 2.5 (+120).

2022 World Cup: Morocco vs. Spain odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Morocco vs. Spain odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

Spain battles Morocco in the Round of 16 Tuesday with kickoff from Education City Stadium set for 10 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Morocco vs. Spain odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Spain finished 2nd in Group E group stage play. They kicked off their World Cup play with a  7-0 win over Costa Rica, then drew Germany 1-1 and lost to Japan 2-1.

Spain’s main attacker is F Alvaro Morata, but their real strength is in the midfield with M Sergio Busquets and M Gavi bringing both experience and energy to this technically-sound lineup.

Spain ranks 7th in the world per FIFA while Morocco sits 22nd.

Morocco won Group F behind 2 wins and a draw. They beat Belgium 2-0 and Canada 2-1 after drawing their first match of the tournament against Croatia 0-0. There main star is PSG D Achraf Hakimi, who was actually born in Madrid, Spain.

Prediction

Spain 1, Morocco 1

Moneyline (ML)

BET MOROCCO OR TIE (+120).

Belgium was a disappointment in group stage play, but Morocco beating them 2-0 almost seems as impressive as Spain thrashing a low-tier CONCACAF side.

Morocco has an underrated amount of high-level competitors with F Hakim Ziyech having 19 goals in 46 caps. Morocco’s strength is in their defenders with Hakimi leading the way.

They have allowed just 1 goal this tournament, and with Spain having adjusted their lineup several times to figure out what works, the technical side will be there but the chemistry may not be.

Spain had a draw and loss against the best 2 teams in their group while Morocco beat the 2nd-best team in the world and then drew the 12th. Morocco has proven enough to bet on them either winning in 90 or heading past full time.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN UNDER 2.5 (-145).

Morocco has been outstanding defensively, but they also haven’t been great offensively. Morocco scored 2 against Belgium and Canada but failed to tally a goal against Croatia. In their last 2 games, Morocco has 4 goals but just 6 shots on target.

Capitalizing on that rate against Spain won’t be as easy. Outside of their 7-goal performance, Spain has scored just 1 goal per game. They had just 8 shots on target in their last 2 games.

Considering neither side has been a high-pace side with Spain’s technical dominance likely killing the clock, this should be a low-scoring battle. At this value, the UNDER 2.5 (-145) is just a lean.
