FC Dallas vs. Colorado Rapids odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s FC Dallas vs. Colorado Rapids odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

In Saturday MLS action, FC Dallas (2 wins, 1 loss, 2 draws) welcomes the Colorado Rapids (2-1-2) to the Toyota Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the FC Dallas vs. Colorado Rapids odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

FC Dallas is coming off a 0-0 draw last weekend against the Chicago Fire. Dallas is 2-0-1 in its last 3 games. Its only loss of the season was a 1-0 setback to New England March 5.

FC Dallas is in a five-way tie for fourth place in the Western Conference. Dallas is led by 21-year-old F Jesus Ferreira, who has scored 3 goals this season. FC Dallas is 2-0-1 at home.

As for Colorado, it is coming off a 1-1 draw to Real Salt Lake last Saturday. It hasn’t lost since its season opener at LAFC, a 3-0 defeat.

The Rapids have rebounded well and are among the five teams tied for fifth on the MLS table with 8 points. F Diego Rubio and F Mark-Anthony Kaye lead the Rapids with 2 goals apiece.

FC Dallas vs. Colorado Rapids: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 3:44 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: FC Dallas +102 (bet $100 to win $102) | Colorado +300 (bet $100 to win $300) | Draw +225
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +115 | U: -140)

[tipico]

Prediction

FC Dallas 1, Colorado Rapids 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN to the DRAW (+225).

There’s not much separating these sides. Colorado had a slow start to the season, giving up 3 goals against LAFC, but it has allowed just 2 goals since in 4 games.

As for FC Dallas, it has allowed just 3 goals in 5 games, so it has clearly had a dominant defense as well. Rapids G William Yarbrough has an 82.4% save rate this season, so Colorado should be able to limit Dallas’ offense, including star F/M Jesus Ferreira.

Dallas doesn’t have any big-time wins yet this season, having taken down Nashville and Portland, both teams outside the top 8 in the Western Conference.

The Rapids to win and/or draw at -135 is also a strong play given FC Dallas’ overrated resume.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (-140).

It’s a price to pay, but the defenses speak for themselves. Since facing LAFC, Colorado has given up 2 goals in 4 games. On the season, FC Dallas has allowed 3 goals in 5 games, while the Rapids have allowed 19 goals.

Both teams have scored 7 as well, so neither team is really abusing their opponent on the offensive side. Plus, FC Dallas has allowed a league-low 10 shots.

Through 5 games, both sides have displayed strong defenses. It’s expensive, but UNDER 2.5 (-140) is the best bet in this game.

LA Galaxy vs. LAFC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s LA Galaxy vs. LAFC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The LA Galaxy (3 wins, 2 losses, 0 draws) welcomes LAFC (4-0-1) to Dignity Health Tennis Center for the Los Angeles Derby Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the LA Galaxy vs. LAFC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

This is a clash of two Western Conference powerhouses. LAFC is in first, while the Galaxy sit third in the conference table.

The Galaxy are led by F Javier Hernandez (Chicharito), who has 4 goals on the season. Similarly, LAFC F Carlos Vela will likely start and get a full 90. He also is tied for the second-most MLS goals with 4.

The two clubs tied El Trafico twice last season with LA Galaxy winning the other 2021 match. LAFC is undefeated on the road, having won both matches, while LA Galaxy are 1-1-0 at home.

LA Galaxy vs. LAFC: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 2:27 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: LA Galaxy +160 (bet $100 to win $160) | LAFC +155 (bet $100 to win $155) | Draw +260
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -175 | U: +140)

[tipico]

Prediction

LAFC 1, LA Galaxy 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN to the DRAW +260.

The last two times these teams met, the end result has been a draw. They played to 1-1 ties Aug. 28 and Oct. 3 last season.

While LAFC is the better side, the Galaxy will be at home, where they were 8-4-5 last season despite having a far weaker roster than their current one. Both teams have also been extremely strong defensively.

The Galaxy have given up 5 goals in 5 games, while LAFC has given up 4 in 5. Considering both know how to defend elite attacking forwards, they should be able to neutralize the top scorers.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 2.5 (+140).

Again, both teams have star power up top, but it’s going to be the defenses that should reign.

While El Trafico feels like it’s often a high-scoring affair, it really hasn’t been with the Under 2.5 goals having gone 3-3 in the last 6 matches. Under 3.5 is 5-1, which can be taken at -170.

Through 5 games, LAFC has allowed 15 shots, while the Galaxy have allowed just 14. It’s not going to be easy to score, and I expect few goals in this battle.

Philadelphia Union vs. Columbus Crew odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Philadelphia Union vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Philadelphia Union (4 wins, 0 losses, 1 draw) welcomes the Columbus Crew (2-1-2) Saturday to Subaru Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Philadelphia vs. Columbus odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Union – the top team in the MLS per the league’s mid-week power rankings release – have won 3 consecutive 2-0 games 2-0. One of those was a highly impressive victory over the reigning champs NYCFC.

M Dániel Gazdag is tied for the second-most goals in the MLS. Philadelphia is led by its defense, which has allowed just 2 goals through its first 5 games.

As for the Crew, they’re in a tie with Orlando City SC for fifth in the Eastern Conference. Columbus is just 0-1-1 over its last 2, having scored just 1 goal in its last 180 minutes.

The Crew are led by 2021 All-Star M Lucas Zelarayán. He is also in that 6th-way tie for the second-most goals. The Crew’s 10 goals lead the conference.

Philadelphia vs. Columbus: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 1:52 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Philadelphia +125 (bet $100 to win $125) | Columbus +235 (bet $100 to win $235) | Draw +225
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +110 | U: -135)

[tipico]

Prediction

Philadelphia 2, Columbus 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN to the PHILADELPHIA (+125).

The Union are the best team in the MLS, and they’ll be at home in this one. That’s almost good enough rationale to back them at plus-money odds.

The Crew have yet to win on the road, drawing both matches. The Union have the fourth-highest accurate-shooting percentage as well. Philadelphia also ranks No. 2 in save rate and No. 4 in interceptions.

The Union’s defense allows little opportunity, unlike many of the Crew’s previous opponents. Columbus has also regressed after starting the season with 7 goals through 2 games. It has since scored just 3 in its last 3.

Considering each teams’ form and the value on the home side to come out on top, BACK PHILADELPHIA (+125).

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN to the OVER 2.5 (+110).

While I don’t have an overly strong play in this game, my favorite is OVER 2.5 (+110). The value is here with the Crew having scored the most goals in the conference.

While the Crew’s attack has regressed as of late, it still has one of the most experienced midfielders in the MLS and should be able to break down the Union. Columbus ranks 2nd in shots and 5th in shots on goal.

The Union sits 7th in shots on goal and 4th in shooting accuracy. Both teams have terrific attacks which should be able to prevail.

The Crew have gone Over 2.5 goals in 3 of their 5 games, while the Union topped it just once. However, Philly has 2 or more goals in all 5 of its games.

Charlotte FC vs. FC Cincinnati odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Charlotte FC vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

Charlotte FC (1 win, 3 losses, 0 draws) hosts FC Cincinnati (2-2-0) Saturday at Bank of America Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Charlotte FC vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

In its inaugural season, Charlotte FC won its first game last weekend, defeating the Revolution 3-1. Coming into that match, Charlotte was 0-3 and 0-1 at home.

Charlotte is led by Polish F Karol Świderski, who has 2 goals on the season. Charlotte, which is 12th on the table, has scored 4 goals and allowed 7 so far.

As for FC Cincinnati, it has rebounded nicely after a disastrous 5-0 loss to Austin FC to open the season. FCC has won 2 straight games, defeating Orlando City SC 2-1 in Orlando and beating Inter Miami 3-1 at home.

Cincinnati’s F Brandon Vazquez has 4 goals and is tied with Los Angeles FC F Carlos Vela and Columbus F Lucas Zelarayán for the MLS lead. FCC has scored 5 goals, all in the last 2 games, and allowed 8 this season.

FCC is eighth on the Eastern Conference table.

Charlotte FC vs. FC Cincinnati: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 10:27 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Charlotte FC +111 (bet $100 to win $111) | FC Cincinnati +245 (bet $100 to win $245) | Draw +245
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -112 | U: -108)

[tipico]

Prediction

FC Cincinnati 2, Charlotte FC 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN to CINCINNATI (+245).

FCC has been the hotter team and is coming off a home win. It has won 2 straight and is getting a lofty value on the road. It beat Orlando City on the road 2 weeks ago, so it can win outside of TQL Stadium

As for Charlotte, while it is also coming off a win, New England had more shots and as many shots on goal. Charlotte also has the 10th-worst duel percentage, so it doesn’t win many 50-50 balls.

Charlotte allowed 21 shots in its second game of the season against the LA Galaxy and has had as many or fewer shots in all four of its games.

Given Charlotte’s inability to limit shots and Cincinnati having won 2 straight, I’d prefer to side with the road team, which offers a far better value.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN to the OVER 2.5 (-112).

While I don’t have any extremely strong bets here, I do like the OVER 2.5 (-112) as the best bet in this game. The key here is both defenses have struggled this season.

For starters, neither team has had a clean sheet yet, so there is certainly a chance that each side gets on the board.

FC Cincinnati has allowed the fifth-most opponents’ goals (8) so far this season, while Charlotte (7) is tied for 10th. As for the attacks, both teams have been as impressive as either could have been so far as well.

Charlotte ranks fifth in shots on target, while FC Cincinnati ranks ninth. Again, FCC has tallied 5 goals in its last two games, while Charlotte has netted 4.

Expect both teams to get ample opportunities in this match.

New York Red Bulls vs. Columbus Crew odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s New York Red Bulls vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The New York Red Bulls (2 wins, 1 loss, 0 draws) welcome the Columbus Crew (2-0-1) to Red Bull Arena Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the New York vs. Columbus odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Red Bulls currently sit in a three-way tie for 6th place on the Eastern Conference table with 6 points. They have netted 7 goals and allowed just 3, the fourth-fewest goals allowed in the East.

The Red Bulls are 0-1-0 at home and were 8-3-6 at home a season ago — far better than their 5-9-3 road record in 2021. New York M Lewis Morgan is tied for the third-most goals in the MLS with 3 tallies.

The Crew have also started the season off strong. However, their only non-win was an inexcusable draw in which they allowed San Jose to score 2 goals in the final 15 minutes of play despite being a man down.

That draw came in Columbus’ only road game to date. It is led by 2021 All-Star M Lucas Zelarayán, who is tied for the most goals in the MLS with 4 markers.

New York vs. Columbus: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:35 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: New York -113 (bet $113 to win $100) | Columbus +320 (bet $100 to win $320) | Draw +255
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -105 | U: -115)

[tipico]

Prediction

New York 2, Columbus 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN to NEW YORK (-113).

The Red Bulls are coming into this one following a difficult 1-0 home loss to Minnesota United FC last weekend despite having 14 more total shots and 6 more shots on goal.

The Red Bulls outplayed United, but the scoreline didn’t reflect that.

New York ranks second in shooting percentage and second in assists. It’s a team continually learning to play with each other, and it should help propel its success at home.

The Crew struggled in their one road match.

They may once again struggle in New York considering they gave up 3 goals to a weak San Jose team. Columbus is giving up 1.3 goals per game which isn’t quite at the Red Bulls 1.0 opponents’ goals per game level.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the OVER 2.5 (-105).

The Crew have gone over 2.5 goals in every game this season while New York has combined for 4 and 5 goals in two of its three games this season.

Columbus has one of the best midfielders in the MLS as well which should help them control the pace.

The Red Bulls have also pushed the pace this season and even had 18 shots in their sole game which they didn’t net at least 3 goals. Both teams rank in the top four in shots on target as well.

Two elite attacking sides should be able to net 3 or more goals. This will be the best bet in this afternoon battle.

Colorado Rapids vs. Sporting KC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado Rapids vs. Sporting KC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rapids (1 win, 1 loss, 0 draws) welcome Sporting KC (1-1-0) to DSG Park Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Colorado Rapids vs. Sporting KC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Rapids beat Atlanta 3-0 at home despite being out-possessed and out-shot last weekend after a demoralizing 3-0 loss on the road to LAFC to open the season.

The Rapids are led in the attacking third by F Jonathan Lewis who had 7 goals in 27 matches played last season. Colorado relied heavily on its defense a season ago as it gave up 35 goals in 34 games.

Sporting KC finished third in the Western Conference a season ago, 3 points behind top-ranked Colorado. Sporting lost on the road 3-1 to Atlanta to open the season and then took down Houston 1-0 at home last Saturday.

Sporting is led by F Dániel Sallói who has 1 goal and 7 shot-creating actions through two games.

Colorado Rapids vs. Sporting KC: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 2:42 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Colorado -122 (bet $122 to win $100) | Sporting KC +340 (bet $100 to win $340) | Draw +270
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -115| U: -105)

[tipico]

Prediction

Colorado 2, Sporting KC 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN to COLORADO (-122).

The Rapids made a late surge last season and finished atop the Western Conference because of their dominance at home.

They won 9 games at home, drew 7 and had just 1 loss. It seems like they’re picking up right where they left off, having lost on the road but destroyed a team at home that beat Sporting KC.

Sporting KC is similar as it was destroyed in Atlanta and then won at home. Playing on the road wasn’t a strong point for Sporting last season either as they lost 7 of 17 road matches.

Given the odds, I’ll take the home side in this one.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the OVER 2.5 (-115).

Colorado is 2-0 this season on the Over 2.5. Its defense, which was among the most dominant in the MLS, doesn’t seem elite, having given up 3 goals through 2 games. Colorado has also scored 3 goals.

The only game between the two teams that would’ve missed this total was Sporting’s 1-0 win over Houston, a game that had 8 shots on goal.

Considering that and the weakened defenses from a season ago, I expect an abundance of opportunities.

Orlando City vs. FC Cincinnati odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Orlando City vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati (0 wins, 2 losses, 0 draws) heads south to take on Orlando City (1-0-1) Saturday at Exploria Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Orlando City vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati lost 5-0 to Austin FC in its season opener. Austin FC finished in 14th place in the Western Conference the season prior, so it was a demoralizing loss. Not quite as demoralizing as a 98th-minute penalty kick loss to D.C. United in its home opener though.

FCC has yet to score this season, having lost both its first two games by a combined 6-0. F Brenner, FCC’s premier attacker, should be active for its battle with Orlando City.

As for Orlando City, it started off the season strong with a 2-0 win over Montreal CF. However, it drew 0-0 against Chicago last weekend, having put together little offensively in that showing.

Orlando City will enter as the heavy favorite, and rightfully so, as it won 8 of 16 games at home last season and has started off 1-0.

Orlando City vs. FC Cincinnati: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:20 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Orlando City -205 (bet $205 to win $100) | FC Cincinnati +550 (bet $100 to win $550) | Draw +350
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -130 | U: +105)

[tipico]

Prediction

Orlando City 2, FC Cincinnati 0

Money line (ML)

PASS.

Betting against FC Cincinnati has been free money so far this season, but at -205, it’s just not worth it in this situation. I would lean to BOTH SIDES NOT TO SCORE at -125 for a myriad of reasons.

For starters, Orlando City has yet to give up a goal while FC Cincinnati has yet to score a goal this season.

However, after giving up 5 to Austin, Cincinnati’s defense looked far better in its second game. It allowed just 10 shots and 4 on goal to D.C. United, a team that opened the season with a 3-0 win over Charlotte.

Orlando, while the strong favorite, has just 3 shots on goal this season and 2 goals. It has the second-fewest shots on goal in the MLS this season, only behind Vancouver who has just 1.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN to the UNDER  2.5 (+105).

For all the reasons above, the Under feels like the better play here.

FC Cincinnati has been getting shots off yet doesn’t have that clinical finishing ability in the final third. It has 29 shots and 8 on target yet not a single goal. That’s a problem, and it’s not one easily corrected.

Both teams also rank in the bottom half of the league in shooting accuracy, both under 30%. Orlando has the 4th-least accurate shooting, and FCC sits with the 8th-worst percentage.

With that in mind, given the value, I’d play the plus-money Under odds.

Columbus Crew vs. Toronto FC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Columbus Crew vs. Toronto FC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Columbus Crew (1 win, 0 losses, 1 draw) welcome Toronto FC (0-1-1) to Lower.com Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Columbus Crew vs. Toronto FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Crew return home following a thrilling 3-3 draw with the San Jose Earthquakes (March 5). Leading 3-1 with 80 minutes passed and up a man, the Crew let San Jose score twice in the final 10 minutes, including a 96th-minute penalty kick to tie the game. It had to be a demoralizing defeat.

The Crew won their first game 4-0 against Vancouver. 2021 All-Star M Lucas Zelarayán is the only Crew player with multiple goals on the season, having tallied 3 through two games.

Toronto FC has scored 2 goals and given up 5. It drew FC Dallas 1-1 to kick the season off but was destroyed 4-1 by the New York Red Bulls March 5.

Only F Jonathan Osorio and F Jesús Jiménez have scored for Toronto FC, the 10th-place team in the Eastern Conference.

Columbus Crew vs. Toronto FC: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 2:05 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Columbus Crew -160 (bet $160 to win $100) | Toronto FC +430 (bet $100 to win $430) | Draw +300
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -140 | U: +115)

[tipico]

Prediction

Columbus Crew 3, Toronto FC 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN to COLUMBUS CREW (-160).

The value here isn’t terrific, but at -160, I like the Crew to win outright. The Crew are undefeated at home, just 1-0-0. Despite not having a great season a year ago, they still defended their home field well, winning 10 of 17.

The Crew have allowed just 3 goals this season. Toronto has struggled so far with its only draw coming against the 10th-place team in the Western Conference.

Through two games, Toronto has just 14 shots and 6 on target, equating to an average of 3 on target per game. The Crew have 41 shots and 13 on target. They’ve been the more aggressive and impressive team so far.

The -160 price isn’t great value on the money line, but the Crew should come out on top at home.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-140).

It’s a tad riskier, but one can get an alternate line of Over 3.5 (+170). Three of the two teams’ combined four games have gone Over 3.5 goals with two games going Over 4.5 goals.

The only one to not hit the mark was Toronto’s season-opening 1-1 draw with FC Dallas. Even that game had 2 first-half goals and 19 shots, but it stalled in the second half.

The Crew have 7 goals and 4 assists. They’re tied with LAFC and Atlanta for the third-most assists in the MLS.

Considering how both teams have played and the defensive aptitude shown in their performances, betting on more goals seems to be the smart play.

Colorado Rapids vs. Atlanta United odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado Rapids vs. Atlanta United odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rapids (0 wins, 1 loss, 0 draws) host Atlanta United (1-0-0) Saturday at DSG Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Colorado vs. Atlanta odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Colorado was given a difficult test in its opener on the road against LAFC with a fully healthy F Carlos Vela. Vela netted a hat trick against the Rapids, a team that gave up just the second-fewest goals in the Western Conference a season ago.

The Rapids lost 3-0 in their opener after finishing first in the conference last season. That was more about how good Vela was than a weak Rapids side.

Atlanta is led by F Josef Martinez. United beat Sporting KC at home 3-1 for an impressive season-opening win. Atlanta committed just 6 fouls which is tied for the fewest in the MLS through the opening week.

Atlanta finished 4-6-7 on the road a season ago.

Prediction

Colorado 1, Atlanta United 1

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to a DRAW (+245).

Atlanta is a talented side and showed that as it knocked off one of the Western Conference’s best teams in their opener. However, it’s far more difficult on the road and Colorado will be looking to bounce back.

The Rapids’ strong defensive play should be able to limit Martinez and company. Colorado gave up just 35 goals in 34 games a season ago and its mistakes against LAFC should be corrected at home.

The Rapids were 9-1-7 at home last season, failing to get any points in just 1 match. Against a talented United side that’s coming off an impressive win, I think a draw could be in store.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 2.5 (-130).

The Rapids allowed just 1.03 goals per game last season. Vela ripped them apart, but their coaching and defensive core are still intact and should rebound in this home battle.

United totaled 3 goals against Sporting, but they allowed just 2 shots on goal, one of which Sporting managed to score on.

United has USMNT star D Miles Robinson captaining their backline as well, so the experience is there to succeed. I expect a hard-fought battle, one that finishes relatively low scoring.

FC Cincinnati vs. D.C. United odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s FC Cincinnati vs. D.C. United odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati (0 wins, 1 loss, 0 draws) hosts D.C. United (1-0-0) at TQL Stadium Saturday for a 6 p.m. ET. kickoff. Below, we preview the FC Cincinnati vs. D.C. United odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati was absolutely embarrassed in its opener, on the road against Austin FC. Austin finished 14th in the Western Conference last season and lost their leading goal scorer to Charlotte. It won 5-0.

FCC looks like the worst team in the conference outside of potentially Charlotte, the most recent expansion team. They should get their most lethal scoring threat, F Brenner, in action, which should give their attack a boost.

As for D.C. United, they took down Charlotte 3-0.

F Ola Kamara scored as a sub with F Michael Estrada doing most of the damage, putting 2 in the back of the net. United was tested though as Charlotte put 5 shots on target yet none in the back of the net.

Prediction

D.C. United 2, FC Cincinnati 1

Money line (ML)

BET on D.C. UNITED +125.

FC Cincinnati looked helpless last week. It wasn’t just a unique situation either. They lost 5-0 to what is projected to be one of the worst teams in the West, and it was clear their defense couldn’t keep up.

United should pose even a greater threat with Kamara having been tied for the second-most goals in the MLS a season ago. FCC was just 1-11-5 at home last season, totaling a mere 8 points in 17 home matches.

There’s no reason to expect them to come out on top in this one. With plus-money odds, I’d certainly back United, who looked terrific to start the 2022 season.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 2.5 (-130).

D.C. United gave up 5 shots on goal, and with Brenner starting to train with the team, having arrived in late February to Cincinnati, he should be able to help their attack.

FC Cincinnati, on the other hand, gave up 5 goals to Austin and allowed 2.18 goals per game last season.

It doesn’t seem like their defense has improved much, and I’d expect United to get at least a couple of goals, especially coming off a 3-goal performance against Charlotte.
