Missouri at South Carolina odds, picks and predictions

The No. 21 Missouri Tigers (7-2, 3-2 SEC) take on the No. 23 South Carolina Gamecocks (6-3, 4-3) at Williams-Brice Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Missouri vs. South Carolina odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Mizzou pulled off a miraculous victory last week against Oklahoma, scoring a touchdown with 1:03 to go in the fourth quarter and causing a fumble that was taken back to the house with 43 seconds to go in the game. It downed OU 30-23 as a 3.5-point dog. It was without starting QB Brady Cook (ankle, hand) last week, and he’s listed as doubtful this week. RB Nate Noel returned from a foot injury last week and rushed 10 times for 31 yards.

South Carolina has a menacing defense. In fact, it’s 12th in the country in yards allowed per game. DE Kyle Kennard is considered to possibly be the best DE in the nation. He has 9.5 sacks on the season. DB Nick Emmanwori is one of the best defensive backs in the country as he has 60 tackles, 4 INTs and 2 pick-6s. The Gamecocks have won 3 straight after their 28-7 win at Vanderbilt last week. QB LaNorris Sellers was 14-for-20 for 238 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs.

Missouri at South Carolina picks and predictions

Prediction

South Carolina 20, Missouri 17

Moneyline

The talk Friday on St. Louis talk radio was that while he’s listed as doubtful, Cook could actually play. PowerMizzou.com’s Gabe DeArmond said on 101ESPN Friday morning, if he had to guess, he would say Cook starts. Mizzou’s ML has cascaded up to +475 and back down to +425.

If he’s able to go, that changes things drastically, but I don’t think it’s enough to get over the hump against this defense.

My play here is LUTHER BURDEN III OVER 47.5 RECEIVING YARDS (-115). Even if QB Drew Pyne is in the game, he was still able to connect with Burden 5 times for 55 yards last week.

Against the spread

I’m taking MISSOURI +13.5 (-110), and I’m doing it thinking that Cook will play at least part of this game. The spread was +14 earlier Friday, and the whispers are clearly doing their magic to the numbers.

Over/Under

This is an Under game. Mizzou is 3-6 O/U, and the Tigers’ 23 points last week were more than they posted in the previous 2 games combined. South Carolina is 5-4 O/U and has held teams to single digits 3 times this year.

Take the UNDER 42.5 (-115).

Oklahoma at Missouri odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Oklahoma at Missouri odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Oklahoma Sooners (5-4, 1-4 SEC) take on the No. 22 Missouri Tigers (6-2, 2-2) at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Oklahoma vs. Missouri odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Sooners ended a 3-game losing streak by beating the brakes off Maine in a 59-14 cover as 36.5-point dogs. RB Jovantae Barnes rushed 18 times for 203 yards and 3 TDs. QB Jackson Arnold was 15-for-21 for 224 yards and 2 TDs.

So Oklahoma is taking on the No. 22 team in the country, in its building, and Mizzou is the underdog? What in tarnation?!? Let us explain…

Missouri QB Brady Cook (hand) is doubtful, and backup QB Drew Pyne has been horrendous as Cook has been banged up. Pyne has thrown for 248 yards, 0 TDs and 3 INTs. RB Nate Noel has been out with a foot injury, but is expected to return Saturday. Prized WR Luther Burden III has also been banged up with a shoulder injury and caught 3 balls for 3 yards last week and hasn’t scored a TD since Sept. 21. What was once a season full of college football playoff hopes has begun spiraling down the drain.

Oklahoma at Missouri picks and predictions

Prediction

Oklahoma 24, Missouri 10

Moneyline

Two weeks ago, Cook made a miraculous comeback from the hospital to lead Mizzou past Auburn 21-17. Then, he hit his hand on the helmet of a defensive player early in the game against Alabama and was out. The Tigers were caged 34-0 and looked futile with a capital F.

I expect a better showing on offense with a week to prepare behind Pyne, but he has looked awful under center. Oklahoma isn’t the strongest of foes, but it was competitive with Tennessee and beat Auburn a few weeks ago.

I like Oklahoma here, but I’m going with the spread.

PASS.

Against the spread

I like Oklahoma by at least a touchdown here, and this 2.5-point spread is likely to lengthen the closer we get to kickoff.

Take OKLAHOMA -2.5 (-110).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The Sooners are 4-5 O/U thus far, and Missouri is 2-6. The Tigers’ offense was hit-or-miss even before Cook, Noel and Burden were injured. Without Cook, it has been a joke.

I like the UNDER 41.5 (-110) here.

Missouri at Alabama odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Missouri at Alabama odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 17 Missouri Tigers (6-1, 2-1 SEC) and No. 15 Alabama Crimson Tide (5-2, 2-2) meet in a ranked SEC clash Saturday. Kickoff from Bryant-Denny Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Missouri vs. Alabama odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Missouri beat the Auburn Tigers 24-17 Saturday while covering as a 3.5-point favorite. Mizzou put up 18 unanswered points during the back half of the 3rd quarter and the entire 4th quarter to complete the comeback win. The Tigers have won back-to-back games since being routed by No. 25 Texas A&M and are ranked No. 17 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Alabama, which is No. 15 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, enters after being beaten 24-17 by the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers Saturday. The Crimson Tide failed to cover as 3.5-point favorites in the loss. Bama has lost 2 of its last 3 games since defeating No. 1 Georgia earlier in the season, being outscored 89-79 over its last 3 games.

Missouri at Alabama picks and predictions

Prediction

Alabama 27, Missouri 18

Moneyline

PASS.

Alabama will get back to its winning ways and cover here as a -800 favorite, but such a heavy favorite is never worth the risk of betting on. Pass here and bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET MISSOURI +15.5 (-105).

Absolutely nothing about the way Alabama has played since beating Georgia gives me any reason to believe that the Tide will blow out Missouri here. Couple Alabama’s poor play with its defense that allows 351.9 yards per game and 21.3 points per game and you have a recipe for the Tigers to keep this one close. Missouri QB Brady Cook (ankle) and RB Nate Noel (foot) are both doubtful for this game. However, there is optimism Cook plays.

This bet is slightly risky as Mizzou did get blown out by Texas A&M only 3 games ago.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 51.5 (-115).

While Alabama’s defense is abysmal, I don’t expect Missouri’s offense to be good enough to exploit that weakness and help this game get Over 51.5 points. Missouri also has a very solid defense that allows just 273 yards and 15.6 points per game, so the Tigers will give this Bama offense some trouble.

This is a lean because both squads have very solid offenses that can put up points.

Auburn at Missouri odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Auburn at Missouri odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Auburn Tigers (2-4, 0-3 SEC) take on the Missouri Tigers (5-1, 1-1) at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for noon ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Auburn vs. Missouri odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Auburn has dropped 3 straight after a 31-13 defeat at Georgia Oct. 5. This will make the Tigers’ 4th straight serious opponent. So they are battle-tested in the early going. QB Payton Thorne was 16-for-27 for 200 yards, 0 TDs and 0 INTs against UGA. RB Jarquez Hunter ran hard for a 13-91-1 line against a stout opponent.

Missouri, No. 16 in the US LBM Coaches Pollpoured it on UMASS in a 45-3 victory last week that really no one is talking about locally. The Tigers have not looked like themselves all season, and Texas A&M embarrassing them 41-10 makes this game super important for Mizzou’s playoff hopes. WR Luther Burden III had a 61-yard touchdown run and caught 5 of 6 targets for 59 yards. He gave the team a scare when he came down hard on his left shoulder. His arm dangled as he went to the injury tent, but he is not on this week’s injury report.

Auburn at Missouri picks and predictions

Prediction

Missouri 24, Auburn 17

Moneyline

I look for Mizzou to make a statement here. It got waxed by A&M and then beat a hapless UMASS team. It’s not getting any respect, and frankly, it doesn’t deserve it. It entered the season with some of the highest expectations in program history, and it has been a little flat.

Skip the -190, and take LUTHER BURDEN ANYTIME TOUCHDOWN (-125). He’s the most talented player on the field at all times. He has scored a TD in 5 of 6 games this season.

Slap the 20% CFB odds boost most BetMGM users were granted, which takes it to -105.

Against the spread

Mizzou has covered 3 times this year, and they were all against bad teams. It outscored those bad teams 134-3. Auburn is not a bad team, but its cover as 21-point dogs against UGA last time out was its first cover that wasn’t against a team it was supposed to pummel.

Take MISSOURI -4.5 (-110).

Over/Under

These teams haven’t faced one another since Sept. 2022, and both teams are very different. Auburn won that game 17-14 in overtime. Mizzou is just 2-4 O/U this season, and Auburn is 3-3. This total is a little high for me. Mizzou QB Brady Cook has not been anywhere close to the form he showed last season, and I look for a focus on the running game.

LEAN UNDER 50.5 (-115).

Missouri at UMass odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Missouri at UMass odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The UMass Minutemen (1-5) welcome the Missouri Tigers (4-1) to Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for noon ET (ESPN2). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Missouri vs. UMass odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Missouri is No. 18 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. The Tigers had their 4-game winning streak, which included wins over the Boston College Eagles and Vanderbilt Commordores, snapped last week 41-10 by the No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies. Missouri has failed to cover in 3 straight games and is 2-3 against the spread (ATS). It has allowed 21 or more points in 3 straight games after giving up 0 in the 1st 2 weeks.

UMass has struggled this season. The independent Minutemen have 5 losses to Mid-American Conference teams with its lone win over Central Connecticut State. UMass is 1-1 straight up in games as a favorite and 0-4 in games as an underdog. The Minutemen have scored 20 or more points in 4 of their last 5 games. UMass’ weakness has been mainly on the defensive side, allowing 31-plus points in 4 of its last 5 games.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Missouri at UMass picks and predictions

Prediction

Missouri 42, UMass 10

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no reason to take anything on the moneyline. The Tigers are far too expensive of a favorite to play, and the Minuteman have struggled too much against quality opponents to consider them as a plus-money underdog.

Against the spread

BET MISSOURI -27.5 (-110).

The Tigers have beaten up bad opponents. They took down Murray State 51-0 to open the season and then beat Buffalo 38-0 in the second week. Those are their lone covers of the season, and it is the lone times in which Missouri has been a favorite of 20 or more points.

UMass is 2-1-1 ATS as an underdog, but it is 0-2 ATS at home this season. The Minutemen have allowed 34 or more points in 3 of 6 games this season, and this will be the best offense they have played. Expect Missouri to tear through the UMass defense.

Take MISSOURI -27.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 54.5 (-110).

In both games which Missouri was this size of a favorite, it shut out its opponent. UMass has a better offense than those teams but not by much. It scored just 3 on the Buffalo Bulls and has scored 20 or fewer points in 4 of 6 games. This should be the best defense UMass has faced this season.

Missouri is 2-3 O/U this season, and it is 0-2 O/U in games against non-Power 5 opponents. The Tigers have scored over 38 points just once this season as well, so they may not drop 40-plus, especially after a disappointing 10-point effort in Week 6. Considering those trends, take UNDER 54.5 (-110).

Missouri at Texas A&M odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Missouri at Texas A&M odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 21 Texas A&M Aggies (4-1, 2-0 SEC) welcome the No. 9 Missouri Tigers (4-0, 1-0) to Kyle Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for noon ET (ABC). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Missouri vs. Texas A&M odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Missouri is No. 9 and Texas A&M is No. 21 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

The Tigers kicked off the season with 2 non-Power 5 games, both blowout wins. They covered in both and then beat Boston College and Vanderbilt, the former by 6 points and the latter by 3 in overtime, failing to cover as a double-digit favorite in both. Missouri is 2-2 against the spread (ATS) and has scored at least 27 points in all 4 games.

The Aggies, one of the few teams with 5 games under their belt, opened the season with a loss to No. 13 Notre Dame, but they have rattled off 4 wins since. Texas A&M has wins over Arkansas and Florida; however, it is just 1-4 ATS on the season. A&M is 0-3 ATS at home this season as well.

Missouri at Texas A&M picks and predictions

Prediction

Missouri 27, Texas A&M 21

Moneyline

BET MISSOURI (+115).

The Tigers have had a few close calls, but they are still undefeated and have scored with ease this season. Missouri’s strength is in the run game, going for north of 200 yards on the ground against Vanderbilt in Week 5. Texas A&M ranks 56th in opponents’ yards per rush attempt, so it might not be able to slow down the Tigers’ run game.

The Aggies have allowed 20 or more points in 3 of 5 games, and they have struggled heavily to cover at home. They are 0-1 at home in games with a single-digit spread. That said, back the Tigers to come out on top, and bet MISSOURI (+115).

Against the spread

PASS.

The moneyline is the better play here, and while the spread is playable, the preferred option here is the plus-money road side.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 48.5 (-110).

Both teams are trending towards the Under in this one. The Tigers have gone Under in 3 of 4 games this season, allowing 21 or fewer points in 3 of the 4. They have allowed a total of 48 points through 4 games.

Given their desire to keep the ball on the ground, they are consistently draining clock as well. The Aggies are 2-3 O/U and have allowed 23 or fewer points in all 5 games. Considering those trends, take UNDER 48.5 (-110).

The No. 8 Missouri Tigers (3-0, 0-0 SEC) welcome the Vanderbilt Commodores (2-1, 0-0) to Memorial Stadium for a conference clash Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Vanderbilt vs. Missouri odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Missouri opened the season witha 51-0 win against the Murray State Racers and then a 38-0 win over the Buffalo Bulls. The Tigers had a closer call with Boston College in Week 3, winning 27-21. Missouri is 2-1 against the spread (ATS), having played all 3 games at home. It is 0-3 O/U as well.

Vanderbilt opened its season with a surprise 34-27 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies as a 13-point underdog. It then beat Alcorn State 55-0 and had a surprise Week 3 loss to Georgia State 36-32. Vanderbilt is 0-1 ATS on the road and 1-0 ATS as an underdog. The Commodores QBs have yet to throw an INT, having accumulated 560 yards and 5 TDs.

Vanderbilt at Missouri picks and predictions

Prediction

Missouri 41, Vanderbilt 17

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no reason to play Missouri (-1600) to win outright at home, especially considering Vanderbilt (+900) has played better than expected this season. The Tigers are too expensive to play on the moneyline.

Against the spread

BET MISSORUI -20.5 (-105).

The Tigers have destroyed opponents this season, especially when they’re favored by 20 points or more. Missouri is 2-0 ATS when a favorite by that number. While the Tigers beat Boston College by just 6, they did end with  120 more rushing yards. They were the better side and arguably should’ve won by enough to cover.

Similarly, Vanderbilt is coming off its worst game of the season and lost as an 8.5-point favorite. It has yet to play a team of Missouri’s caliber. It lost every road game last season and lost its last 4 on the road by 20 or more.

Expect the Tigers to come out on top with ease and back MISSOURI -20.5 (-105).

Over/Under

BET OVER 52.5 (-110).

This game is a battle between 2 polar opposites. The Commodores are 3-0 O/U while the Tigers are 0-2 O/U. The Commodores have scored 30 points or more in all 3 games and have allowed 27 points or more in 2 of 3.

The Tigers have a dynamic offense and have scored at least 38 points in 2 of 3 and 27 points or more in all 3. Missouri, in its lone game against a Power 4 side, gave up 21 points as well. Expect a high-scoring battle.

Boston College at Missouri odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Boston College at Missouri odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Boston College Eagles (2-0) and Missouri Tigers (2-0) clash Saturday at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Boston College vs. Missouri odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

BC, who sits just outside of the Top 25, shocked the country by taking down No. 10 Florida State 28-13 in their season opener. The followed that up by dropping the Duquesne Dukes 56-0 last week. BC is 2-0 ATS and 1-1 O/U on the young season. QB Thomas Castellanos has been superb in the 1st 2 games, going 19-for-26 (73.1%) for 340 yards, 6 TDs and 0 INTs.

Missouri, No. 8 in the US LBM Coaches Pollwill receive its 1st test of the season, after they blew out Murray State 51-0 and Buffalo 38-0. WR Luther Burden III has not had to do much, but he has reached pay dirt in both games. He has combined for 7 catches for 64 yards and 1 TD while rushing twice for 21 yards and another TD. TE Brett Norfleet (shoulder), who missed the last game, is expected to suit up against BC.

Boston College at Missouri picks and predictions

Prediction

Missouri 41, Boston College 35

Moneyline

There is no play here. I think BC will push Mizzou, but the Tigers will ultimately prevail. If BetMGM offers up a profit boost token, consider putting it on Luther Burden anytime touchdown (-135). I need better odds to take that one natively, though.

PASS.

Against the spread

I’m all over BC’s side here. Castellanos is a massive upgrade over the QBs Mizzou has faced thus far, and this team is battle tested.

Take BOSTON COLLEGE +15.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Mizzou posted 51 and 38 points while pitching shutouts in their 1st 2 games. How will they respond when they give up their 1st touchdown or even trail for the 1st time? BC put up 56 points last week and its offense is clicking. BC beat Mizzou 41-34 in OT in 2021, and I look for a similar spirited shootout.

Take the OVER 54 (-110).

Buffalo at Missouri odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Buffalo at Missouri odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Buffalo Bulls (1-0) and No. 10 Missouri Tigers (1-0) clash Saturday at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (SEC Network+). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Buffalo vs. Missouri odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bulls gored the Lafayette Leopards 30-13 in their season opener Aug. 29. QB C.J. Ogbonna went 14-for-24 for 195 yards, 2 scores and 0 picks. RB Jacqez Barksdale rushed 14 times for 99 yards and 1 score as well. Buffalo got out to a 16-point lead at halftime and were really never challenged.

Mizzou was like Mike Tyson’s tiger in the bathroom with a 51-0 thrashing of Murray State Aug. 29. Heisman-hopeful WR Luther Burden III caught 4 passes for 49 yards and a TD as the Tigers went up 28-0 in the 1st quarter and kind of took the foot off the gas. Seven players ran the ball, and 4 players reached the end zone on the ground. One minor detail to monitor is TE Brett Norfleet (shoulder) is out for this game.

Missouri is No. 10 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, conducted by the American Football Coaches Association and USA TODAY Sports.

  • Moneyline (ML): Off the board
  • Against the spread (ATS): Buffalo +34.5 (-110) | Missouri -34.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 51.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Buffalo vs. Missouri picks and predictions

Prediction

Missouri 42, Buffalo 14

Moneyline

There was no ML available at press time, and honestly, we wouldn’t touch it with a 10-foot pole anyway.

I would go with OVER 28.5 FIRST HALF POINTS (-105). Mizzou put up 28 in the 1st quarter, and Buffalo had 16 in their 1st half. They know they’re going to have to go for it in order to contend with the Tigers’ offense.

Against the spread

Buffalo is a more formidable foe than the Murray State squad was against Mizzou. I don’t think they stand a chance, but if you’re forced to take a side here, take BUFFALO +34.5 (-110).

Over/Under

This total seems low to me, and it’s insinuating that they don’t think Buffalo can score more than 10 points. As mentioned, the Bulls will have to air it out early in order to contend. That lends to a sweat-free OVER 51.5 (-110).

Auburn at Missouri odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Auburn at Missouri odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 14 Auburn Tigers (22-7, 11-5 SEC) take on the Missouri Tigers (8-21, 0-16) Tuesday at Mizzou Arena. Tip is set for 9 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Auburn vs. Missouri odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Auburn, No. 14 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Pollis led by F Johni Broome, who has been in double figures in 20 straight games. The Tigers have traded wins and losses over the last 6 games. Their latest was a 78-63 victory over Mississippi State Saturday. They covered as 11-point favorites. So that means they lose this one, right?!?! Not so fast.

Mizzou has lost 16 straight games, and it’s just 3-7 ATS over the last 10. It is putting up points, eclipsing 70 in 4 of the last 5 and averaging 73.6 PPG during the stretch. G Sean East II is ballin’ right now with 20+ points in 5 straight games. The problem lies with its defense. Its 112.4 defensive rating is 336th in the nation.

Auburn at Missouri picks and predictions

Prediction

Auburn 85, Missouri 70

Moneyline

At some point, Mizzou is likely to pull an upset for its 1st conference win. Could it be this one at home against an inconsistent team that perhaps overlooks it? Maybe.

Am I willing to make that leap? No.

I will consider SEAN EAST OVER 16.5 POINTS (-125), since he has gone for 20+ in 5 straight.

Against the spread

Mizzou has covered in just 3 of the last 10 meetings against Auburn and 3 of its last 10 overall. It just doesn’t play enough defense for me to believe it’s going to keep Auburn under 80 in order to cover.

Take AUBURN -11.5 (-110).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The Over is 7-3 in Missouri’s last 10, and Auburn is 5-5 O/U. The Over is also 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. Again, it would take Missouri keeping Auburn under 78-80 for this not to cash.

Take the OVER 149.5 (-105).
