The Minnesota Timberwolves (46-21) play the 2nd game of a back-to-back with the Utah Jazz (29-38) Monday at Delta Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Timberwolves vs. Jazz odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Timberwolves lead 3-0; Minnesota won 119-110 on Saturday, covering a 7.5-point spread as the Under (224.5) cashed in the 1st meeting in Salt Lake City this season

The Timberwolves have won 2 in a row on the road, while averaging 118.5 points per game (PPG) with 100.0 PPG allowed. The T-wolves have won 4 of the past 6 games, too, while the Over is 3-1 in the previous 4 contests. Minnesota has cashed the Under in each game against Utah this season.

The Jazz have dropped 4 of the past 5 games, while covering just once in the past 4 contests. The Over is on a 5-1-1 run in the past 7 games, with the lone exception an Under against Minnesota on Saturday. The Over is 3-1-1 in the past 5 home games.

Timberwolves at Jazz picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 118, Jazz 107

Moneyline

The Timberwolves (-350) are a risky play, costing 3 1/2 times your potential return. That’s a crazy bet, but it is especially so if Gobert, a.k.a. “The Stifle Tower”, cannot play against his former team. Gobert missed the front end of the set, and although Naz Reid filled in admirably, it makes Minnesota super risky.

PASS, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

The TIMBERWOLVES -8 (-110) are worth playing lightly, even if Gobert is deemed unable to go. He missed Saturday’s game, yet Minnesota was still able to take care of business. If he is active, then go a little more aggressively.

The Jazz +8 (-110) are in a nosedive, dropping 4 of the past 5 games outright, while going just 3-12 SU. More importantly, Utah is an awful 5-10 ATS in the past 15 games.

Over/Under

OVER 222.5 (-108) is worth a look in this rematch.

The Under cashed in the front end of the set, although Minnesota certainly did its part with 119 points scored. The Over is 5-1-1 in the past 7 games for the Jazz, while the Timberwolves have ended up going high on the total in 3 of the past 4 outings, and 6 of the previous 9 contests.

Timberwolves at Jazz picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 122, Jazz 117

Moneyline

In 2 November meetings in Minnesota, the Timberwolves won both games by at least 11 points.

The Timberwolves are a solid team on the road this season at 22-13 and 6-2 in their last 8.

The Jazz have been good at home. They are 20-13 at Delta Center, meaning 20 of their 29 total wins have been at home.

They did lose 4 straight home games between Feb. 12 and Feb. 22 but have won 3 of their last 4 there.

But the Jazz have not won consecutive games since winning 2 in a row Feb. 4 and 6. They are 4-6 when playing on no rest and 5-9 when playing with a rest disadvantage.

The Wolves should win this game, but it isn’t worth any bet at -350 unless you include it in a parlay bet.

PASS.

Against the spread

The Jazz, though, are a very reliable ATS bet at home they are 22-11 ATS at home this season.

Minnesota is 18-17 ATS on the road.

The Jazz are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games.

Minnesota is 2-7 ATS in its last 9 games and 2-3 ATS in its last 5 wins.

BET JAZZ +7.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The totals for the first 2 meetings this season were 218 and 191.

However, the Jazz give up points. Opponents average 120.8 points per game against them and have scored 119 or more in 4 consecutive games.

The Wolves have allowed 110 or more points in 4 of their last 5 games.

BET OVER 223.5 (-110).

Season series: Timberwolves lead 2-1

The Timberwolves are 1-2 through the 1st 3 games of their current 6-game road trip. They have lost 2 games in a row and 4 of 6 overall. They are coming off a 120-109 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday, failing to cover the 4.5-point spread as underdogs.

The Clippers have won 4 of their last 6 games. They had a 2-game winning streak snapped Sunday, losing at home 124-117 to the Milwaukee Bucks as 6.5-point underdogs.

Timberwolves at Clippers picks and predictions

Prediction

Clippers 117, Timberwolves 112

Moneyline

The Timberwolves are 21-13 on the road this season and have won 5 of their last 7 games away from home. However, they’ve dropped 2 straight on this road trip. They are banged up, missing Towns and perhaps going without Edwards or Gobert. Even if Edwards plays, he has shot 34% over the last 2 games.

The Clippers (-275) are 22-9 at home. Their only 2 losses over their last 6 games have been to the Bucks.

I don’t like the Timberwolves for the upset, but betting the Clippers on the moneyline isn’t worth the action.

PASS.

Against the spread

Neither team is consistently a good bet ATS. The Wolves are 32-33 ATS overall and 17-17 ATS on the road. The Clippers are 32-31 ATS overall and 16-15 ATS at home.

The winner of the last 10 meetings has covered the spread.

The Wolves are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games. The Clippers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 and 4-10 ATS in their last 14.

Two of 3 meetings between these teams have been decided by 4 or fewer points.

BET TIMBERWOLVES +6.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The most recent meeting, an 89-88 Clippers win March 3, finished with 177 total points. The other 2 matchups had 221 and 214 points.

All 4 of Minnesota’s games since the March 3 loss have had totals of 217 or more.

Three of the Clippers’ 4 games since then have surpassed this game’s projection.

BET OVER 215.5 (-105).

Season series: Timberwolves lead 2-0

The Timberwolves are on the 3rd game of a 6-game road trip. They have won 2 of their last 3 overall and split the 1st 2 outings on the road trip. They’re coming off a 113-104 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers Friday as 1-point underdogs.

The Lakers have won 4 of their last 6 games. They’re 3-2 on their current 6-game homestand and have alternated wins and losses. Their last game was a 123-122 upset win over the Milwaukee Bucks as 4-point underdogs Friday behind 44 points and 9 three-pointers from G D’Angelo Russell.

Timberwolves at Lakers picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 122, Lakers 113

Moneyline

Both previous meetings were wins by the Timberwolves in Minnesota, a 118-111 win Dec. 21 and a 108-106 victory Dec. 30.

The Lakers been very good at home this season. They are 22-11 at home but 3-2 during this homestand.

The Timberwolves are a good road team at 21-12 and have won 5 of their last 6 away games. Thursday’s loss snapped a 5-game road winning streak.

It took every one of Russell’s 44 points for the Lakers to beat the Bucks Thursday. James did not play and Davis’ shoulder was clearly an issue late in the game.

You can’t expect another performance like that from Russell, and the Timberwolves are 9-4 in their last 13 games.

The Timberwolves have not lost consecutive games on a road trip this season.

BET TIMBERWOLVES (-105).

Against the spread

The Lakers covered the spread in both losses to the Wolves this season but were the underdogs.

Minnesota is 17-16 ATS on the road this season, compared to the Lakers’ 15-18 ATS home mark.

It has been 9 games since the Lakers covered the spread in consecutive games.

But since we already like the Wolves for the outright win, as they just do not lose consecutive games during road trips, those odds are slightly better than the -115 to cover the 1.5-point spread.

PASS.

Over/Under

The last meeting between these teams had 229 total points.

The Lakers have allowed over 120 points in 4 of their last 5 games. Nine of their last 10 games have had totals higher than 221 points.

Only 3 of Minnesota’s last 10 games have surpassed the projection for Sunday, but 2 of the last 3 have.

BET OVER 221.5 (-110).

Season series: First meeting; Minnesota won both meetings last season

The Timberwolves beat the Indiana Pacers 113-111 on the road Thursday, covering as a 1-point underdog. They have won 2 straight and 5 of their last 8, but are just 2-6 against the spread (ATS) in that span, and 32-31 ATS on the season. G Anthony Edwards is averaging 26.4 points per game (PPG).

The Cavaliers lost to the Atlanta Hawks 112-101 Wednesday, failing to cover as a 3-point road underdog. Cleveland has traded off winning and losing over its last 6 and is 2-4 ATS in that span. It is 30-32 ATS on the season. The Cavaliers will be without leading scorer G Donovan Mitchell (28 PPG), but have 5 other players averaging 14 points or better.

Timberwolves at Cavaliers picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 109, Cavaliers 104

Moneyline

BET TIMBERWOLVES (-108).

Minnesota has won 2 straight games and has won 5 straight on the road, including wins over the LA Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks.

The T-wolves are the best road team in the NBA, posting a 21-11 straight-up record. While Minnesota is without Towns, the Cavaliers are missing several key players, making Edwards the best player, by far, on the court. That should give Minnesota as edge.

Also, the Cavaliers have lost 3 of their last 5, and those losses have come to a short-handed New York Knicks team, the Hawks and the Chicago Bulls. Expect the Cavaliers to struggle against a team as deep as the T-wolves.

Take TIMBERWOLVES (-108).

Against the spread

PASS.

The better value on the T-wolves is on the moneyline, not spread, so look there for the play.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 209 (-110).

The Cavaliers have gone Under in 4 straight games, but they would have hit or gone Over this total in 5 of their last 6. They are 2-4 O/U in those 6, scoring at least 105 points in 4 of them.

The T-wolves are 3-2 O/U in their last 5 games and have scored at least 110 points in 4 of their last 5. They are 6-0 O/U in their last 6 games with a total of 218 or lower. That said, back OVER 209 (-110).

The Minnesota Timberwolves (43-19) take on the Indiana Pacers (35-28) Thursday. Tip-off from Gainbridge Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Timberwolves vs. Pistons odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Minnesota leads 1-0 with a 127-109 home win Dec. 16, while covering as a 10.5-point favorite with the Under (238) hitting

Minnesota came away with a 119-114 win over the Portland Trail Blazers Monday, failing to cover as a 15-point home favorite. The Timberwolves shot 50.6% from the field, and C Rudy Gobert (25 points, 16 rebounds) led 6 double-figure scorers for the T-wolves. The win ended a 2-game losing streak for the Wolves, who are 4-2 in their last 6 games and 8-3 in their last 11.

Indiana routed the Dallas Mavericks 137-120 Tuesday, pulling off the upset as a 5.5-point road underdog. Indiana shot 53.8% (50-for-93) from the field and 46.2% (18-for-39) from deep. C Myles Turner’s 20 points led 9 Pacers in double figures. The Pacers ended a streak of back-to-back losses with Monday’s win — they are 5-3 in their last 8 games.

Timberwolves at Pacers picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 115, Pacers 113

Moneyline

I like the Timberwolves (+102) to pick up the win as slight underdogs, but I’ll PASS on a ML play and take the insurance of 1½ points with the spread (see below). Plus, I’m not a fan of doubling down — betting the same team’s ML and spread.

However, I wouldn’t frown upon a Minnesota (+102) ML bet, but I wouldn’t wager more than 1½ units between the ML and spread bets.

Against the spread

LEAN TIMBERWOLVES +1.5 (-110).

Minnesota has covered the spread in each of its last 4 matchups vs. the Pacers with 2 of those games being at Indiana. The Timberwolves have also covered the spread in each of their last 4 road games.

Plus, the Timberwolves have been the hotter team straight up lately and have dominated on the road this season and in recent overall matchups vs. Indiana. Minnesota has won 5 straight vs. Indiana, is 8-3 in its last 10 games overall (as mentioned), and is 20-11 on the road this season.

This is only a lean because Minnesota has been bad ATS lately and because the Pacers have been the slightly better ATS team this season.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 229 (-108).

The Under has hit in 3 of Indiana’s last 4 games and is 7-3 in its last 10 games.

For Minnesota, the Under is 32-30 on the season. The Under has also hit in 3 consecutive Minnesota-Indiana matchups and is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

This is only a lean because the Over has been safer for the Timberwolves lately.

Portland Trail Blazers at Minnesota Timberwolves odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Portland Trail Blazers at Minnesota Timberwolves odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Portland Trail Blazers (17-42) visit the Minnesota Timberwolves (42-19) Monday. Tip-off from Target Center is set for 8 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Trail Blazers vs. Timberwolves odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Minnesota leads 3-0

Portland picked up a 107-100 OT victory at the Memphis Grizzlies Saturday, covering as a 2-point underdog. G Anfernee Simons’ 30 points led the way for Portland in the win. The Trail Blazers have won back-to-back games as road underdogs — both at the Grizzlies.

Minnesota suffered an 89-88 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers Sunday, failing to cover as a 2.5-point home favorite. G Anthony Edwards scored a team-high 27 points, but the Timberwolves shot only 38.8% from the field and 27.3% from deep in the loss. The Timberwolves have lost back-to-back games and are 0-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last 4 contests.

Trail Blazers at Timberwolves picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 111, Trail Blazers 95

Moneyline

PASS.

Minnesota (1200) should pick up the win, but such a big favorite is never worth the risk of backing. Bet on the spread and/or Over/Under instead.

Against the spread

LEAN TIMBERWOLVES -14.5 (-108).

Minnesota has covered the spread in 3 consecutive meetings with Portland and is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 series matchups. The Timberwolves have also been the slightly better team ATS this season, being 31-30 on the season while the Trail Blazers are 27-32.

The Blazers’ multitude of injuries also makes this bet safer.

This is only a lean because Minnesota has been bad ATS recently and because the Trail Blazers have been good ATS in their recent road games.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 211.5 (-110).

The Under has hit in 3 of Portland’s last 4 overall and is 2-1 in its last 3 road outings. For Minnesota, the Under is 4-2 in its last 6 games. The Under has also been safer for both teams this season, being 31-30 for Minnesota and 32-27 for Portland.

The Under has also hit in 3 of the last 5 meetings between these squads.

This is only a lean because the Over and Under have both been even for both squads this season and in recent Portland-Minnesota matchups.

Clippers at Timberwolves picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 111, Clippers 105

Moneyline

When these teams met in Los Angeles Feb 12, the Timberwolves won 121-100, holding the Clippers to 40% shooting.

Before Friday’s loss, the Timberwolves were averaging 101.1 points in their previous 8 games.

The Clippers have allowed 115 or more points in 6 of their last 7 and at least 120 in 4 of those games. They are 17-12 on the road and 6-1 in their last 7 away games.

But Minnesota is 22-7 at home.

There is little difference between betting the Wolves to win outright (-120) and covering the 1.5-point spread (-110).

You do get slightly better value with the spread bet, so go that route, and PASS on the moneyline.

Against the spread

The Timberwolves are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games but 5-5 ATS in their last 10. They are only 11-13-2 ATS as home favorites this season, but the Clippers are 3-6 ATS as road underdogs.

The Clippers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 and 2-7 ATS in their last 9.

BET TIMBERWOLVES -1.5 (-110).

Over/Under

Six of the Clippers’ last 7 games have had totals of at least 220 points.

The Timberwolves have only had 1 game since the All-Star Break reach 220 total points — Friday’s loss vs. Sacramento.

When the Clippers and Wolves last met, the total was 221, and it was 214 in the 1st meeting this season.

BET UNDER 219.5 (-105).

Kings at Timberwolves picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 118, Kings 110

Moneyline

PASS.

The Timberwolves have been playing too well lately to think they’ll lose at home, but they certainly aren’t worth a moneyline play at -270.

Against the spread

LEAN TIMBERWOLVES +6.5 (-110).

The Kings have not covered well lately as an underdog. They are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games as a dog. Sacramento relies heavily on Fox as well, and he may not be 100% even if he does take the court.

Minnesota sits as the 9th-best home-covering team in the NBA. It is 14-12-2 ATS, per teamrankings.com, at home. The T-wolves have been surging too, covering in 8 of their last 13 games.

Back TIMBERWOLVES +6.5 (-108).

Over/Under

BET OVER 224.5 (-110).

The T-wolves have gone Over in 5 of their last 9 games, and they have scored at least 120 points in 5 of those and at least 110 in 7 of them. The Kings play at a fast pace and are 31-27 O/U on the season.

Sacramento has scored at least 123 in 2 of its last 4 and has scored at least 120 in 5 of its last 9. The Kings are 6-3 O/U in their last 9 and should, sitting 11th in the league in pace, again look to run in this one.

Take OVER 224.5 (-110).

Minnesota cruised to a 106-90 win at home Saturday vs. the Miami Heat, covering as an 8-point favorite. C Naz Reid came off the bench to score 25 points while also grabbing 8 rebounds. It was a total team win as Minnesotay had 6 players score 12 or more points, including 4 of the 5 starters.

Atlanta cruised to a 127-110 win Sunday at the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday, covering as a 6-point underdog. Atlanta saw 8 players score a dozen or more points, including all 5 starters. Timberwolves at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawks 115, Timberwolves 107

Moneyline

LEAN HAWKS (+110).

Atlanta has yet to have seen an all-star caliber game from G Trae Young, and I expect to see one here as Young has averaged 32.6 points per game and 9.9 assists per game in 10 career games against Minnesota. However, even if Young doesn’t show up, the Hawks may have found a solid backup plan in their balanced scoring attack that saw success vs. Milwaukee.

Against the spread

BET HAWKS +2.5 (-115).

The Hawks have the highest-powered offense the Timberwolves have seen this season, especially when firing on all cylinders. Minnesota’s starting 5 has not been very good or consistent offensively or defensively since trading for C Rudy Gobert last offseason, and those struggles will prove to be fatal here.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 234.5 (-110).

In 2 games Minnesota has yet to have a game that even hits Over 200, and while that will likely change here, I do not expect this game to reach this  number. I expect the strong defense of Minnesota to continue here, but it will be harder for the Timberwolves to stop this Hawks offense than it was to stop that of Miami or Toronto, especially if Young is lighting them up.
