Kings at Timberwolves picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 118, Kings 110

Moneyline

PASS.

The Timberwolves have been playing too well lately to think they’ll lose at home, but they certainly aren’t worth a moneyline play at -270.

Against the spread

LEAN TIMBERWOLVES +6.5 (-110).

The Kings have not covered well lately as an underdog. They are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games as a dog. Sacramento relies heavily on Fox as well, and he may not be 100% even if he does take the court.

Minnesota sits as the 9th-best home-covering team in the NBA. It is 14-12-2 ATS, per teamrankings.com, at home. The T-wolves have been surging too, covering in 8 of their last 13 games.

Back TIMBERWOLVES +6.5 (-108).

Over/Under

BET OVER 224.5 (-110).

The T-wolves have gone Over in 5 of their last 9 games, and they have scored at least 120 points in 5 of those and at least 110 in 7 of them. The Kings play at a fast pace and are 31-27 O/U on the season.

Sacramento has scored at least 123 in 2 of its last 4 and has scored at least 120 in 5 of its last 9. The Kings are 6-3 O/U in their last 9 and should, sitting 11th in the league in pace, again look to run in this one.

Take OVER 224.5 (-110).

Sacramento Kings at Minnesota Timberwolves odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Sacramento Kings at Minnesota Timberwolves odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Sacramento Kings (27-21) take on the Minnesota Timberwolves (27-25) Monday at Target Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Kings vs. Timberwolves odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Kings lost 117-110 to the Timberwolves on Saturday and failed to cover as 1.5-point favorites on the road as the Under (238) hit. Sacramento has lost 3 of its last 4 games following a 6-game winning streak from Jan. 9-20 while Minnesota is currently on a 3-game win streak and has won 5 of its last 6 contests.

Kings at Timberwolves picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 119, Timberwolves 115

Moneyline

KINGS (-115) is my bet Monday despite losing to the Timberwolves on Saturday. Sacramento is the better team and had won each of its last 3 road games before Saturday’s matchup.

Against the spread

If you aren’t taking the moneyline, KINGS -1.5 (-105) is a nice wager. Even though recent trends lean toward the Timberwolves covering the spread, we only need the Kings to win by at least 2 points against a shorthanded squad.

Over/Under

UNDER 236.5 (-110) feels like the ideal bet for the total in this game. We’ve seen high-scoring affairs between these teams in recent meetings, but I expect both teams to tighten up on defense in the 2nd matchup in 3 days.

The Kings have gone 5-1 to the Under in their last 6 games overall, while the Timberwolves have gone 4-0 to the Under in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record. Meanwhile, the Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these teams in Minnesota.

Sacramento Kings at Minnesota Timberwolves odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Sacramento Kings at Minnesota Timberwolves NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Minnesota Timberwolves (12-38) host the Sacramento Kings (22-28) Monday at Target Center for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Kings-Timberwolves odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Minnesota lost back-to-back, four of five, and seven of its last nine games. But, the T-Wolves are 3-1 against the spread in the last four games with covers in losses over the Brooklyn Nets (March 29) and Philadelphia 76ers (Saturday).

Sacramento is on a three-game losing skid (1-2 ATS), which followed a five-game win streak (4-1 ATS).

The Kings are flirting with playoff contention, currently sitting 12th in the Western Conference, one game back of 10th-place Golden State Warriors for the final spot in the postseason play-in tournament.

The Kings won last season’s series with the Timberwolves 2-1 straight up and ATS, including victories in the last two games.

However, Kings leading scorer PG De’Aaron Fox exited Sacramento’s loss to Minnesota’s last season with an injury after just two minutes.

Kings at Timberwolves: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Kings 123, Timberwolves 106

Money line (ML)

PASS because I “LEAN” to Sacramento covering the spread in this spot, but it is just 2-3 straight up as a road favorite so laying -190 with the Kings is out of the question.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

“LEAN” to KINGS -4.5 (-110) because, currently, 80% of the handle is on Sacramento, which has moved the line up from the 2-point opener (according to Pregame.com).

Simply put, 80% of sports bettors don’t beat the “House” and it’s generally not profitable following a crowd.

On the other hand, the pro-Sacramento case is also simple. Both teams are in the bottom 10 of net efficiency but Minnesota is terrible against bottom-rung squads.

The Timberwolves are 4-11 overall with the worst net efficiency and the lowest ATS margin (minus-6.8 points) vs. bottom-10 teams in points per 100 possessions differential, according to CleaningTheGlass.com.

BET KINGS -4.5 (-110) for a half unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

Minnesota could be without four backcourt players, including its second-and third-leading scorers and leader in assists per game.

Even though Sacramento has the worst defensive rating in the Association, it’s going to be a lot of inefficient SF Anthony Edwards usage for Minnesota and I don’t know who on the T-Wolves gets C Karl-Anthony Towns the ball in a good spot.

“LEAN” to the UNDER 235.5 (-110) for a half-unit if Rubio, Beasley and Russell aren’t playing for Minnesota.
