This Mike Evans Instagram picture is worth a thousand words

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans recently posted this great picture from Week 9’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans made history this season, becoming just the second receiver ever to start his career with six-straight 1,000-yard seasons. The other is Hall of Famer Randy Moss (not bad company to be in). Unfortunately, Evans’ season was cut short after he came up limping with a hamstring injury following a 61-yard touchdown catch in Week 14’s win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Still, Evans proved once again why he should be considered one of, if not the best wide receiver in the game today. He had a memorable year with several highlight-worthy plays, including his monster performance back in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. Evans finished that game with 12 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown. Those 12 receptions were a career high for the former Texas A&M star.

Evans posted a picture from that game on his Instagram the other day, reminding everyone he’s a Texan, born and raised. And, the picture itself is worth a thousand words.

Take a look.

Pete Carroll’s expression is priceless. He’s got the look every coach probably has the minute Evans breaks free from a defender. The Bucs receiver, meanwhile, looks as cool as the other side of the pillow. If he can stay healthy next season, he could make it seven-straight 1,000-yard seasons, which would break his tie with Moss. Talk about motivation.

As a little refresher, here is a highlight video from Evans’ big game against Seattle.

Mike Evans nominated for Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has been named a nominee for this year’s Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without their star wide receiver Mike Evans for the rest of the year due to a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 14’s win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Fortunately, Evans hasn’t just been making a difference on the field this season. He’s been doing great work off it, too, which is why he is the Bucs’ nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.

See the list of full nominees above. The award will be presented at the annual NFL Honors on the eve of Super Bowl LIV in Miami.

For what it’s worth, Evans appreciated the love his fellow teammate Shaq Barrett showed him on Twitter.

Jameis Winston trades a football for tennis balls at practice

Watch Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston toss tennis balls at practice instead of a football as he deal with a fractured thumb.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday for their third-straight win and fourth in the last five games, but the victory came at a cost. After catching a 61-yard touchdown from quarterback Jameis Winston, wide receiver Mike Evans came up hobbling with a hamstring injury. He left the game and just this week the team announced the Pro Bowler will miss the remainder of the regular season.

Tampa Bay almost lost another star, too, after quarterback Jameis Winston suffered a hand injury during the game and began the second half on the bench before coming back in and leading the Bucs to victory. Winston was diagnosed this week with a fractured thumb, but the team is hopeful he can go Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

In practice on Thursday, Winston was on the field, but substituted the pigskin for another ball.

You can tell Winston is getting ready to play on Sunday since he also practiced fumbling the tennis balls and throwing them to the other team.

(Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)
