Bucs Divisional Round Injury Report: Four players marked non-participants

It was just a walkthrough Wednesday for the Bucs, but there were a few players marked participants that may be worth watching.

It wasn’t a full practice for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but if the injury report is to be believed, there are a few players to watch going forward.

It was just a walkthrough Wednesday for the Bucs, but if the estimations are anything to go by, there could be some significant injuries on both sides. The Bucs had two edge rushers in Shaquil Barrett and Yaya Diaby not participate, one with an ankle injury and the other with a shoulder injury, respectively. Running back Chase Edmonds has a toe injury that made him a non-participant and Chris Godwin did not participate with a lingering knee injury.

Here’s the full injury report for Wednesday:

Meanwhile, center Frank Ragnow took a rest day for the Lions and did not participate while wideout Kalif Raymond did not participate due to knee injury.

Two Bucs players have updated status before Week 18 game

The Bucs appeared to be fully healthy Friday, but that isn’t quite the case after a quick change to the report Saturday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made some last-minute changes to their injury report following its release on the Friday before their Week 18 game against the Carolina Panthers.

The team announced Saturday that it is adding Bucs linebacker K.J. Britt and Bucs outside linebacker and edge rusher Cam Gill to the injury report. While Gill has been deemed questionable with a knee injury, Britt has been downgraded to doubtful with a sudden calf injury.

With Britt’s absence, it seems once again that linebacker Devin White will get the majority of reps at the second LB positon as he has for most of the year. Gill missing will be a bit of a blow to the depth of the line, but it won’t be too big hit given the team has edge rushers that can step up when needed.

Bucs WR Rakim Jarrett activated from Injured Reserve

The Bucs are getting a wideout back on the 53-man roster before their Week 18 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be getting back one of their wide receivers to the 53-man roster.

The team announced on Friday that WR Rakim Jarrett is returning from injured reserve to the team’s active roster. Jarrett has not been with the team since he suffered a hamstring injury against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11.

Jarrett was a special teams player who occasionally fit into the offense before getting injured. The best play of his Bucs tenure so far was in that game against the 49ers, where he caught a 41-yard pass from quarterback Baker Mayfield. Jarrett was listed as questionable on the team’s Week 18 injury report, but head coach Todd Bowles seemed to indicate that the team would be fully healthy against the Carolina Panthers.

Jarrett will re-enter the fold alongside wideout David Moore, who took his place after injury and has caught a touchdown pass since then, coming against the Green Bay Packers earlier in December.

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield will play vs. Panthers in Week 18 despite rib soreness

Mayfield took a late shot from Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu in Sunday’s loss to New Orleans, but he is set to play in Week 18.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback [autotag]Baker Mayfield[/autotag] isn’t feeling great, but true to form, he’s set to play anyway in Week 18 against the Carolina Panthers.

Mayfield was injured in Week 17’s loss to the New Orleans Saints when he took a late hit from New Orleans Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu during a two-point conversion attempt late in the contest. Mayfield told reporters on the podium after the game that his ribs “didn’t feel great,” but per Greg Auman of Fox Sports, it’s looking as if he will start against the Panthers nonetheless.

Bucs coach Todd Bowles confirmed on Monday that Mayfield’s X-rays came up negative and that the quarterback is still very sore from the injury. How his practice schedule will be affected by the injury remains to be seen.

Some in the Bucs organization took issue with the hit that injured Mayfield. Left tackle Tristan Wirfs told reporters he was tired of similar hits from the New Orleans’ Saints specifically.

Mayfield will get another crack at the Panthers in Week 18, a team he played for and then was subsequently released by in 2022. The first time around this season, Mayfield and the Bucs defeated the Panthers 21-18.

Bucs Week 17 Injury Report: Three players did not participate

While Wednesdays have been walkthroughs for the Bucs for some time now, you can still see which players are injured from the first report this week here:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a fully healthy squad in Week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but that may not be the case in Week 17 against the New Orleans Saints.

Tampa Bay has held what most refer to as a “Walkthrough Wednesday” for a few weeks now, so the team doesn’t actually practice at full speed. As a result, the reports for Wednesdays are typically estimations, but they can do a good job at revealing which players are dealing with certain injuries. In this case, the Bucs have three injuries to contend with — cornerback Carlton Davis has a concussion, edge rusher Shaquil Barrett has a groin injury and tight end Ko Kieft is dealing with a shoulder injury. The other two players on the report in wideout Rakim Jarrett and Mike Greene are both in their 21-day window to return from Injured Reserve.

You can check out the full injury report below:

Meanwhile, the Saints also had three players designated as non-participants, but one (tight end Jimmy Graham) was due to rest. The big name to watch is tackle Ryan Ramczyk, who has been dealing with a knee injury for a bit and did not play against the Rams in Los Angeles in Week 16.

Bucs WR Rakim Jarrett opens 21-day return window off IR

Jarrett was placed on injured reserve after Tampa Bay’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be getting some wide receiver depth back in the fold sooner rather than later.

FOX Sports’ Greg Auman announced that wideout Rakim Jarrett is opening the 21-day window to return to the team following an injury to his quadriceps against the San Francisco 49ers. As such, Jarrett has 20 days to be activated off injured reserve and to the active roster — if he isn’t (though that would be highly unlikely), he will not be allowed to return to the team this season.

Jarrett has played both special teams and on the offense during his rookie year in Tampa Bay, where he has acquired 60 yards on four receptions. Most of those yards came from one play, where he caught a 41-yard pass from Baker Mayfield against the 49ers.

His presence has been filled in for by WR David Moore, who was signed to the active roster and caught a touchdown pass against the Green Bay Packers in Week 15.

Two changes to Bucs injury report ahead of Week 15

The Bucs got some good news and some bad news ahead of their matchup against the Packers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers shuffled around their injury report on Saturday ahead of their Week 15 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

The team first announced some bad news on Saturday — safety Ryan Neal was downgraded from doubtful to out, and he won’t be traveling with the team. As a result, safeties Kaevon Merriweather and Dee Delaney will get some playing time. Neal was injured during the team’s game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14.

On the flip side, the team delivered some better news when defensive lineman Vita Vea was upgraded from doubtful to questionable. This isn’t a guarantee that Vea will play, as he was ruled questionable before the team played the Falcons in Week 15 but was subsequently ruled inactive, but Vea’s presence would be a huge help against the Packers in a game that would go a long way in helping Tampa Bay secure a playoff spot.

With the new designations, the Bucs now have three players out — Neal, cornerback Carlton Davis and DL Will Gholston. Five players are now questionable with Vea’s upgrade — Vea, linebacker Devin White, longsnapper Zach Triner, cornerback Jamel Dean and wideout Chris Godwin.

Bucs Final Week 15 Injury Report: Two players out, two doubtful, many questionable

Tampa Bay’s injury situation remains dire heading into the weekend.

While there was some marginal improvement from Thursday to Friday, things still don’t look good for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The team released its final injury report for Week 15, and quite a few players may not be able to play. Cornerback Carlton Davis and defensive lineman Will Gholston are both confirmed out, while DL Vita Vea and safety Ryan Neal are doubtful. The other four players — CB Jamel Dean, wideout Chris Godwin, long snapper Zach Triner and linebacker Devin White — are questionable, and head coach Todd Bowles said they would be game-time decisions.

Here’s what the final injury report looks like:

On the Packers’ side, the only player doubtful is WR Christan Watson, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Seven other players are questionable, including CB Jaire Alexander, running backs A.J. Dillon and Aaron Jones and S Darnell Savage.

Bucs Week 15 Injury Report: Little improvement on Thursday

It’s looking like the Bucs could be very banged up heading into Green Bay.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be in dire straits heading into their Week 15 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

The team released its Thursday injury report, and it featured just two changes (and only one major). Cornerback Jamel Dean was upgraded to a full participant on Thursday and linebacker Devin White got back to practice as a full participant. Everyone else — six other players — did not participate, and it includes some major contributors. CB Carlton Davis, defensive lineman Will Gholston, wideout Chris Godwin, safety Ryan Neal and DT Vita Vea all didn’t practice, and if they don’t play, the Bucs could be severely hampered heading to Lambeau Field.

Here is what Thursday’s injury report looks like:

The Packers now have just two players not participating, including running back A.J. Dillon and wideout Christian Watson.

Bucs Week 15 Injury Report: Tampa Bay in bad shape for Wednesday

It was just a walkthrough on Wednesday, but a staggering seven Bucs players were marked as nonparticipants.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are likely thankful they just did a walkthrough today, because their injury report isn’t looking good at all.

There are seven players listed on the injury report for Wednesday (which as we noted was just a walkthrough in shirts and shorts). Cornerback Carlton Davis, defensive lineman Will Gholston, wideout Chris Godwin, safety Ryan Neal, long snapper Zach Triner, nose tackle Vita Vea and linebacker Devin White all were listed as non-participants — the only player on the report with limited participation was CB Jamel Dean, who is still recovering from an ankle injury suffered against the San Francisco 49ers.

Here is what that injury report looks like:

The Green Bay Packers have more players listed, but still have fewer non-participants. The Packers also didn’t practice on Wednesday at all, so it’s even more of an estimation — notable names that were marked as non-participants are WR Christan Watson, running back A.J. Dillon and LB Quay Walker.
