It was a busy morning for Mike Evans

Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans played the role of both father and football star today.

Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans is looking to make history this season with Tom Brady as his quarterback.

The Pro Bowl wide receiver often gets overlooked when the conversation of best receiver in the game comes up, but that should change this year as Evans and the Buccaneers will appear in the maximum five prime-time games, giving him the chance to shine on the national stage.

Until then, though, Evans is busy playing the role of both father and football player.

The receiver greeted fans on Instagram today with a little good morning message from him and his baby boy.

Then, it was right to the team facility to get in some work on the field.

This man can do everything.

Mike Evans is ready for Year 7

Mike Evans took to Instagram to show off his new Bucs threads.

Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans will look to break his tie with Hall of Famer Randy Moss this season if he can get his seventh-straight 1,000-yard season, which would be the most ever by a receiver to begin his career.

Fortunately, Evans will be playing with a Hall of Fame quarterback in Tom Brady, who actually played with Moss when the wide receiver was a member of the New England Patriots.

Evans is already the Bucs’ franchise-leader in receiving yards, but he still doesn’t seem to get the national recognition and respect he deserves. Hopefully, that all changes in 2020 with a new quarterback and new look.

Evans posted the below picture recently on Instagram, showing off his sweet new Tampa Bay threads with the caption “Year 7.”

Mike Evans knew Chris Godwin was going to be great

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans said he knew fellow teammate Chris Godwin was going to be great.

Perhaps one of the biggest draws for Tom Brady when it came to choosing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as his new home was the fact that he would get to play with two Pro Bowl wide receivers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Both Evans and Godwin eclipsed 1,100 yards last season. For Evans, it was par for the course. It marked his sixth-straight season with 1,000 receiving yards, tied with Hall of Famer Randy Moss for the most ever to begin a career.

But for Godwin, who finished with career-highs across the board with 86 receptions for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns, it was the first time going over 1,000 yards in his three-year career. And now that Tom Brady is the man under center, Godwin could see his numbers grow in 2020, which could help him land a big payday soon.

Evans and Godwin make up arguably the best receiving tandem in the game today, and it seems Evans knew Godwin was ready to burst onto the scene.

It’s great to see Evans show respect for Godwin. We’ve seen many times before how a star receiver can grow jealous of a young emerging star (see Pittsburgh with Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster).

Fans are anxious to see what Evans and Godwin can do with Brady at quarterback. Hopefully, we’ll find out soon enough.

Mike Evans throws shade at Keenan Allen with this hilarious tweet

WR Keenan Allen was none too pleased with his ranking on the NFL top 100 list, but he may be even ore upset by this Mike Evans tweet.

The NFL Network’s Top 100 list always seems to cause a bit of controversy, and for Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen, it seems he’s had enough.

The receiver took to Twitter after he came in at No. 77 on the list and voiced his displeasure about his ranking. While that would’ve been understandable, Allen didn’t stop there. He decided to drag a few other receivers into his argument, saying guys like Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin weren’t better than him.

It seems Evans had something to say, responding to Allen with this tweet.

First, kudos to Evans for having Godwin’s back (Godwin’s Twitter name is @CGtwelve_). And second, that tweet by Evans belongs in the Hall of Fame.

What makes this tweet even better is that the Chargers visit the Bucs in Week 4, meaning we’ll get to see which of these receivers has the bigger day. Circle your calendars, folks.

Mike Evans is definitely training like a man on a mission

Bucs WR Mike Evans took to Instagram again to show fans the time and effort he’s putting in ahead of training camp.

History is on the line in 2020 for Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans, who became the franchise’s all-time leader in receiving yards back in 2018 in just his fifth season.

Last year, Evans tied Randy Moss for the most 1,000-yard seasons to begin a career at six. With Tom Brady under center in 2020, Evans could very well take the record for himself now that he has a Hall of Fame quarterback throwing to him.

But more than that, the 2020 season will offer Evans the chance to showcase his talents on the national stage, as the Bucs have been scheduled for the maximum five prime-time games. As talented as Evans is, he’s rarely talked about as the game’s top receiver, likely due to the lack of team success the Bucs have had during his career.

Hopefully, that’ll all change this season, which might explain why Evans is training like a man on a mission. Take a look at some more screenshots from his recent training session.

This Mike Evans workout video certainly made Tom Brady happy

The Buccaneers posted a video on Instagram of WR Mike Evans working out, which made quarterback Tom Brady very happy.

Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is looking for his seventh-straight 1,000-yard season in 2020, which would make him the only player ever to begin his career with such a streak.

Things will be made easier this year with Tom Brady under center for the Bucs. While the pair have been hitting the field together at a local Tampa prep school, they’ll look to get in even more work together once training camp begins in a few weeks (we hope).

In the meantime, though, Evans has been working out on his own to get himself ready for the season. The Buccaneers recently posted a video on Instagram of Evans working out, and Tampa Bay’s new quarterback left a comment giving his stamp of approval.

Glad to see Brady appreciating the work Evans is putting in. While Evans will have a shot at history this season, it’ll be Brady who will bear the responsibility of getting him the ball.

No pressure.

How We Got Here: A look at Mike Evans’ historic career

Bucs WR Mike Evans will go for history in 2020 if he can snag his seventh-straight 1,000-yard receiving season.

All eyes will be on Tom Brady when the 2020 season rolls around for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the six-time Super Bowl champion will look to guide the Bucs back to the postseason for the first time in over a decade.

Brady’s job will be made easier by the fact that he’ll not only have former Patriots teammate Rob Gronkowski by his side, but also Pro Bowl wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

While Brady will rightly garner most of the attention next season from the media, Evans will be the one chasing history. With another 1,000-yard receiving season, Evans will become the first receiver in NFL history to begin his career with seven-straight 1,000-yard seasons. He currently holds the record at six along with Hall of Famer Randy Moss.

As Evans chases glory in 2020, let’s take a look back now at each year of his career to find see how we got here.

Did Chris Godwin and Mike Evans just get dissed by NFL Network?

When NFL Network analysts had a chance to pick the best wide receiver duo in the NFL, they overlooked two guys in Tampa.

Now with the Buccaneers, Tom Brady will have the luxury of throwing to two of the game’s best wide receivers next season in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, both of whom eclipsed 1,100 receiving yards last and earned Pro Bowl honors.

The dynamic wide receiver duo combined for 2,490 yards last season, almost 200 more than the next duo of Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup of the Dallas Cowboys (2,296). And given their young age and resume of success, you’d think Evans and Godwin would be the hands-down choice for top receiver duo in the league, right?

Well, not according to three NFL Network analysts.

On NFL Total Access, Kurt Warner, Steve Mariucci and LaDainian Tomlinson were recently asked to pick their top WR duo in the league today, and both Warner and Tomlinson went with Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry of the Cleveland Browns, who combined for 2,209 yards last season. Mariucci changed it up a bit by going with Larry Fitzgerald and the newly-acquired DeAndre Hopkins of the Arizona Cardinals.

It’s had to imagine Evans and Godwin getting overlooked here, considering how well they did last year with a quarterback who threw 30 interceptions. If the pair needed any added motivation heading into the 2020 season, here it is.

It was an early morning for Bucs WR Mike Evans

Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans received a pleasant wake-up call this morning from his children.

Mike Evans may be the man on the field, but off of it, he’s just a dad at the mercy of his children.

Evans, who this past season became just the second receiver ever to begin his career with six-straight 1,000 yard seasons, seems to have gotten a pleasant wake-up call this morning from his son and daughter. An early wake-up call.

Take a look at these screen grabs from Evan’s recent Instagram story.

Chris Godwin is climbing the Bucs career receiving yards list faster than you may think

Bucs WR Chris Godwin had a breakout year in 2019, and is quickly climbing the team’s career receiving list.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers boasted the NFL’s best passing attack last season, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering they have both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Both receivers eclipsed the 1,100-yard mark last year, with Evans making history along the way. Now that Tom Brady is their quarterback, the sky’s the limit in 2020 for this Batman and Robin tandem. Evans is already the franchise leader in receiving yards with 7,260, while Godwin is still a ways behind at 2,700.

But, Godwin may not be as far away from cracking the franchise’s top five in career receiving yards as you may think.

Godwin will enter his fourth season in 2020 just 1,600 yards away from tying former tight end Jimmie Giles for fifth in career receiving yards. It’s not out of the question to think that Godwin could hit that mark this season, especially with Brady as his quarterback.

Still, Evans has a strong head start on him.
