Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans made history this season, becoming just the second receiver ever to start his career with six-straight 1,000-yard seasons. The other is Hall of Famer Randy Moss (not bad company to be in). Unfortunately, Evans’ season was cut short after he came up limping with a hamstring injury following a 61-yard touchdown catch in Week 14’s win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Still, Evans proved once again why he should be considered one of, if not the best wide receiver in the game today. He had a memorable year with several highlight-worthy plays, including his monster performance back in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. Evans finished that game with 12 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown. Those 12 receptions were a career high for the former Texas A&M star.
Evans posted a picture from that game on his Instagram the other day, reminding everyone he’s a Texan, born and raised. And, the picture itself is worth a thousand words.
Take a look.
Pete Carroll’s expression is priceless. He’s got the look every coach probably has the minute Evans breaks free from a defender. The Bucs receiver, meanwhile, looks as cool as the other side of the pillow. If he can stay healthy next season, he could make it seven-straight 1,000-yard seasons, which would break his tie with Moss. Talk about motivation.
As a little refresher, here is a highlight video from Evans’ big game against Seattle.
