Jim Harbaugh awkwardly quoted Ted Lasso to compare Michigan’s locker room to his mom’s beach attire

Well, that escalated quickly.

Jim Harbaugh and Michigan are having one of the wildest months in recent memory.

In the wake of their sign-stealing scandal and a suspension for Harbaugh, the team has provided college football fans with some award-worthy “this is incredibly dramatic” and “what in the world is happening?” content for the ages.

First, interim coach Sherrone Moore broke down in tears after beating Penn State. Then, a guy comically named “Uncle T” was implicated in the NCAA’s ongoing investigation. Next, Michigan failed to hide the team’s huddle from cameras during the matchup against Maryland.

Yeah, all of that actually happened.

Now, Harbaugh has dropped the most awkward one-liner to describe the state of Michigan’s locker room culture.

It appears to be a quote from season 1 of Ted Lasso. However, the inability to read the room and how it would be perceived is astounding.

But then again, this is Jim Harbaugh.

Jim Harbaugh as the next Raiders head coach? Fans want that, but here’s why he could face NFL discipline

Could Jim Harbaugh go back to the NFL as the Raiders’ next head coach? There’s one thing to note about that.

OK, Raider Nation.

I know there’s a lot of talk on X about how you want Jim Harbaugh to replace the fired Josh McDaniels as head coach in Las Vegas. And I get that, despite the sign-stealing allegations leveled against Michigan — the last time Harbaugh was a head coach, he won 44 of 64 games with the San Francisco 49ers and took them to a Super Bowl.

There’s just one thing to note, and it has to do with that whole sign-stealing thing.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported earlier this week that “The NFL is unlikely to make itself a safe harbor for Harbaugh to escape what could be substantial NCAA discipline, league sources say, raising the strong possibility Harbaugh would need to serve some or all of any possible suspension he could face in college if he returns to the pros.”

There’s history of this: In 2011, NFL commissioner upheld Terrell Pryor’s Ohio State suspension and did the same with ex-Buckeyes head coach Jim Tressel, who had joined the Indianapolis Colts.

“That precedent could prove relevant for Harbaugh,” Rapoport and Pelissero wrote. And what if that suspension is a lengthy one?

Still, Harbaugh’s name was thrown around a lot after the McDaniels firing:

Connor Stalions sneaking into historical moments is the perfect new meme

Was that Connor Stalions at the moon landing?

The Michigan sign-stealing allegations took a wild turn when video began surfacing of someone who looks like Connor Stalions — the ex-Marine turned Wolverines analyst who could be at the center of this controversy — on the sidelines for a Central Michigan game. CMU announced it was investigating if that was the case.

Of course college football fans had a ball with this one as the videos and photos of the person who looks a lot like Stalions made their way around X, so they turned this whole thing into a hilarious meme: Connor Stalions at various other spots, including historical events.

Here’s a sampling:

Was that Connor Stalions on the CMU sidelines? The latest Michigan sign-stealing conspiracy theory, explained

Is this man in sunglasses involved in the Michigan sign-stealing accusations?

If you were on X on Tuesday and you were a college football fan, you might have seen some wild, weird theories being thrown around about a certain someone on the CMU sidelines during a game.

It’s all tied to the Michigan sign-stealing allegations, with reports that a former Marine named Connor Stalions is a “person of interest.” That investigation and those allegations regarding Stalions have broadened to the point where a former D-III coach told ESPN that Stalions hired him to attend “three Big Ten games during the past two years to record the sideline of a future Michigan opponent.”

Sports Illustrated reported on text messages from 2021 in which Stalions referred to sign-stealing. Michigan suspended him as the school waited for the NCAA to finish its investigation.

But let’s get back to this video: Fans have done a Zapruder Film number on video of a man in sunglasses on the sidelines of a Central Michigan game who looks kind of like Stalions.

Let’s break it down:
