MSU-Iowa game on Sept. 30 flexed to prime-time NBC broadcast

Michigan State’s road trip to Iowa in a couple of weeks got a little bit harder on Monday

Michigan State’s road trip to Iowa in a couple of weeks grew a little bit harder on Monday.

Game times and broadcasting information for Week 5 action were released on Monday, and the Spartans’ road matchup against the Hawkeyes was moved to prime time. Kickoff for the Big Ten clash is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 30, and will be televised nationally on NBC.

The Michigan State-Iowa game had originally been penciled in as a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff and available only via streaming on Peacock. However, something must have changed for TV executives to push it into the prime-time slot.

Iowa is generally tough to beat at home, and it’ll only be tougher now for the Spartans in a nighttime environment.

Like many Spartans fans at the moment, the experts at Tipico don’t like Michigan State’s chances in Tuesday’s road tilt against Iowa.

The Spartans enter Tuesday’s matchup against the Hawkeyes as a 6.5-point underdog. All Betting Lines are Courtesy of Tipico Sportsbook.

Michigan State is struggling at the moment, with losses in four of their last five games. That includes back-to-back defeats this past week.

Iowa has been playing much better as of late, with wins in three of their last four games. The Hawkeyes are also coming off arguably their best win of the season this past weekend, knocking off the Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio.

Tipoff from Carver-Hawkeye Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on ESPN.
