Michigan State Football offers highly coveted 2021 3-star RB Tavierre Dunlap

Michigan State offered the highly recruiting RB Tavierre Dunlap from Texas over the weekend.

It has become a full-time job just to keep up with all the recruiting news coming out of Michigan State these days, with Mel Tucker hard at work over the quarantine sending out offer after offer after offer. Late on Sunday night, highly coveted 3-star 2021 running back Tavierre Dunlap out of Del Valle, Texas announced he had received an offer from the Spartans.

Dunlap is the No. 25 ranked running back in the 2021 recruiting class according to the 247sports composite rankings. He has offers from numerous school, including Arizona, Arizona State, California, USC, Missouri, Oklahoma State, and Utah, to name a few. He also had an offer from Tucker back when he was the coach of Colorado so there was already a relationship established there, another example of Tucker capitalizing on resources and time investments he had made when still at Colorado.

MSU Football offers two 2022 offensive line prospects out of Colorado

Michigan State Football offered two 2022 offensive line prospects over the weekend.

The story of Michigan State Football over this coronavirus quarantine has been on the recruiting front, where Mel Tucker has been sending out scholarship offers left and right. In one of the latest batches of offers sent out, Tucker took advantage of his time spent in Colorado, offering two 2022 offensive line prospects from Colorado.

They are:

  • Grayson Stovall, OT, Regis Jesuit High School
  • Braden Miller, OT, Eaglecrest High School

Tucker’s respect as a coach and recruiter will have an immediate impact for the Spartans as he looks to capitalize on the connections he made at Colorado while he also starts to spread roots in his new home in Michigan.

Quarantine or not, Mel Tucker and the Michigan State Football recruiting team have not slowed any of the momentum they brought to the program when Tucker joined a month ago, firing off seemingly multiple offers a day to top recruits around the country. On Sunday, 3-star quarterback Tyler Macon out of East St. Louis, Illinois announced that he received an offer from MSU.

This is an interesting bit of recruiting news because Macon is already committed to Missouri, but perhaps the addition of Mel Tucker to the Spartans could sway his commitment.

Macon is the No. 19 ranked dual threat quarterback in the 2021 class according to the 247sports composite rankings.

BREAKING: Judge recommends Blackwell lawsuit against MSU’s Mark Dantonio, others be dismissed

A West Michigan magistrate has recommended that the Curtis Blackwell lawsuit against Mark Dantonio and others at MSU be dismissed.

[jwplayer FRQZ8SAf]

In a stark turn of events, U.S. magistrate judge Sally Berens of West Michigan has recommended that the lawsuit brought forth by former Michigan State recruiting coordinator Curtis Blackwell against MSU’s former football head coach Mark Dantonio, former athletic director Mark Hollis, and former University president Lou Anna Simon for wrongful termination be dismissed. This breaking news was first reported by Matt Wenzel of Mlive.com.

Berens also recommended that Blackwell’s lawyers Andrew Paterson and Thomas Warnicke be removed from Blackwell’s counsel. Tony Paul of the Detroit News has also reported on this story, saying that the recommendation was made due to “misuse” of court procedure and harassment of Dantonio.

This development could lead to the swift conclusion of a lawsuit that has dragged on since 2018. The recommendation for case dismissal did not apply to Blackwell’s lawsuit against two Michigan State University Police detectives who he has accused of unlawful arrest.
