Michigan State hockey names captains for 2024-25 season

Michigan State hockey will be entering into the third year of the Adam Nightingale era in East Lansing, The team will be looking to replicate an outstanding season a year ago that saw the Spartans win a Big Ten championship and make an NCAA Tournament run.

The first step to the 2024-25 season is naming captains for the team, which the Spartans have just done.

Senior forward Red Savage will don the ‘C’ this year, with his alternate captains being junior forwards Karsen Dorwart and Tiernan Shoudy, along with junior defenseman Matt Basgall also donning the ‘A’.

Michigan State football announced their captains for the 2024 season, naming five captains for the season. Another facet of the captains that will be featured for Michigan State is that the Spartans will be donning the captain’s ‘C’ on the right chest of their jersey.

Check out Michigan State football’s captains for their week five game against Iowa:

Michigan State has announced who will lead the Spartans into Kinnick Stadium for their game against Iowa. The Spartans will have defensive tackle Simeon Barrow, linebacker Cal Haladay and wide receiver Tre Mosley leading the team as captains for the week five contest with the Hawkeyes.

Mosley and Barrow have been captains every week this year, while this is the first time Haladay will be featured.

MSU has announced their captains for the game against Maryland

Michigan State is virtually entering do-or-die mode for their 2022 season, nearing a must-win situation against Maryland. The players have been very vocal about wanting to fix Michigan State’s problems, and the players have taken an initiative to take the steps to find a solution.

Per usual, Michigan State via Twitter has announced their weekly captains for the huge game against Maryland on Saturday.

MSU has announced their weekly captains for a Week 2 contest against Akron

As fans have grown accustomed to, Michigan State changes captains each week, going with a player-led weekly captain approach.

The team’s Twitter account announced who will lead the team as captains in the Spartans’ Week 2 contest against the Akron Zips.

Leading the team on offense will be Jayden Reed. On defense, it will be Jacoby Windmon. On special teams, Elijah Collins will lead the way.

MSU has announced who will be the captains for week one against Western Michigan

Mel Tucker doesn’t like to name captains for the whole season, instead, Michigan State does captains on a week to week basis. It is something to keep the players, and the fans, engaged each and every week.

Tucker will be continuing that tradition this year, selecting captains every week seperately, and the team has announced who will be leading the Spartans into the season opener against Western Michigan.

Quarterback Payton Thorne, safety Xavier Henderson and punter Bryce Baringer will be MSU’s captains in week one.
