WATCH: Chiefs RB Jerick McKinnon mic’d up as ‘Agent 001’

#Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon was featured on Kansas City’s latest mic’d up video, and dubbed himself “Agent 001”

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon is known to be a big personality in the team’s locker room, and fans got a great look at his sense of humor in a recent video of his antics at practice that was posted to Twitter.

McKinnon dubbed himself “Agent 001” during his recent mic’d up feature, and could be seen competing against his teammates while at training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri.

While his speed and elusiveness have become a key part of McKinnon’s role in the Chiefs’ offense, it seems that his larger-than-life personality is equally a fixture of Kansas City’s practice session. He may have been hamming things up for the camera and microphone, but McKinnon comes off as a playful and genuine character throughout the video.

The veteran running back will look to be a key cog in Andy Reid’s offensive machine during the coming season, and fans should expect to hear more from him as the Chiefs’ 2023 campaign gets underway.

WATCH: Chiefs WR Richie James mic’d up against Saints

Richie James provided plenty of laughs during his mic’d up segment, which was recorded during the #Chiefs’ loss to the Saints on #Sunday.

Wide receiver Richie James is settling in well in the Kansas City Chiefs offense and has quickly become a reliable target for the team’s quarterbacks. His standout performance in the Chiefs’ first preseason game against the New Orleans Saints gave fans a taste of what he might be able to do in the regular season and wasn’t only notable for his impressive stat line.

As it turns out, James was wearing a microphone during the matchup and revealed himself to be quite the character during interactions with his teammates during the game.

While the outcome of the tilt wasn’t exactly what the Chiefs were hoping for, the hilarity of James’ mic’d up appearance was worth something for fans who were distraught after Kansas City’s last-minute defeat in the Big Easy.

If he can continue providing excellent content like this, James will become a fan-favorite early in his career with the Chiefs.

WATCH: Trent McDuffie shows confidence in mic’d up training camp video

Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie was mic’d up at a training camp practice, and exuded confidence in his play and interactions with teammates. | from: @WesleyRoesch

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie seems to be a bit more loose heading into his second NFL season.

McDuffie was mic’d up during a recent training camp practice, and let his personality show as he had some fun with fellow corner Dicaprio Bootle. Later in the video, McDuffie also showed some confidence in his own game. “Told you I’m getting my legs under me, boy,” he said.

McDuffie “getting his legs under” him and taking a second-year leap in 2023 would be the best-case scenario for the Chiefs, who are relying on him for a significant role in their defense. Kansas City selected McDuffie 21st overall in the 2022 draft with hopes of him becoming the team’s top cornerback.

Though McDuffie didn’t quite get to play a full season in 2022, he came into his own pretty quickly in defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s scheme after returning from injury in Week 9. The hope is that the confidence shown in the mic’d up clip will carry over into the season, and McDuffie will be able to build on a solid rookie campaign and solidify himself as the team’s top stud defensive back.

WATCH: ‘El Travador’ mic’d up at Chiefs practice

“El Travador” returned to #Chiefs training camp last week, providing plenty of hilarity during his mic’d up workout.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce decided to shave his signature beard last week, opting to don a mustache, and has been going by “El Travador” ever since. He has been having the time of his life preparing for the 2023 season in St. Joseph with his teammates and, despite a few hiccups along the way, seems to be back to regular season form heading into the third week of camp.

The Chiefs decided to wire Kelce up for a recent practice session, and the results were, predictably, hilarious. The team posted a video of his exploits during his mic’s up workout to Twitter so fans could get a glimpse of the veteran tight end at work.

As one of the most senior players on Kansas City’s roster, Kelce hasn’t lost any of his youthful charm heading into his 11th year in the NFL. His signature wit and sense of humor have endeared him to fans for more than a decade, and with a championship defense on the line in 2023, Kelce can be expected to churn out another impressive season with Patrick Mahomes slinging him the football.

WATCH: Chiefs WR Skyy Moore mic’d up at training camp practice

Wide receiver Skyy Moore gave the #Chiefs’ social media team plenty of good content when he was mic’d up at a recent training camp practice.

Skyy Moore has been among the Kansas City Chiefs’ top performers at training camp in St. Joseph and recently wore a microphone during workouts to give fans some perspective on how the team’s players interact during their grueling practice sessions.

A video of Moore’s “mic’d up” appearance was posted to Twitter by Kansas City’s social media team on the Chiefs’ official page.

The second-year receiver let his teammates know about the hidden recording device, and took it upon himself to get a fresh haircut for the occasion.

“They told me I was mic’d up,” Moore said to teammates in the humorous clip, “I went and got chopped.”

All players, but Moore in particular, can be seen having an exceptionally fun time during the sweltering practice session. For his part, Moore kept his energy high, playing to the camera with casual dances between repetitions in drills and interacting with his teammates through the duration of the day’s workouts.

Moore will look to take on an expanded role in head coach Andy Reid’s offense next season as he seeks statistical improvement after his rookie campaign. In his first year with the Chiefs, Moore had 22 receptions for 250 yards in the regular season but proved to be a crucial contributor in Kansas City’s playoff run to Super Bowl LVII wherein he caught five passes for 17 yards and scored a touchdown on the NFL’s biggest stage.

Netflix’s Quarterback showed new mic’d-up footage of Patrick Mahomes reacting to his injury in the playoffs

This show looks incredible.

One of the more remarkable parts about the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl run this past season was that they won that championship with a visibly hobbled Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes suffered a high-ankle sprain during the Chiefs’ divisional round matchup with the Jaguars, missed just one drive and threw a key touchdown pass in the second half. At the time of the injury, Mahomes was clearly upset to be hurt. We saw him slam his coat on the sidelines as he pleaded with head coach Andy Reid to stay in the game.

But in the newly released Netflix documentary series, Quarterback, we were treated to an extensive look at what went down as Eric Bieniemy told Mahomes that he was going to need an X-ray. Warning: NSFW language.

Mahomes was asking why he couldn’t just get an X-ray at halftime, but the decision to get it looked at quickly ended up being the right move. Backup quarterback Chad Henne came into the game and led the Chiefs on a touchdown drive.

For the second half, Mahomes battled through the injury despite being limited and finished the game with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

The series, which released on Wednesday, will offer unique access to Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota. Fans are already liking what they’re seeing so far.

WATCH: Jacoby Brissett mic’d up with the Browns in 2022

Washington fans should love Jacoby Brissett.

What are the Washington Commanders getting in new quarterback Jacoby Brissett?

Well, depending on who you ask, the Commanders either get the ultimate backup quarterback or a solid starter. There’s really no downside to Brissett signing with Washington.

Brissett has been described as the perfect teammate, something we often heard about former quarterback Taylor Heinicke. One factor that head coach Ron Rivera considered in signing a quarterback this offseason was he wanted someone to push Sam Howell. Someone who, if Howell wins the starting job, will act as a support system for the rising second-year passer.

That was Heinicke. That’s Brissett.

The microphone was on Brissett last season with the Browns in a game against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Browns won the game in overtime, 23-17, thanks partly to Brissett, who completed 23 of 37 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown in the victory. It was his last start before Deshaun Watson returned from suspension.

You see the leadership with Brissett. His teammates love him. He’s tough. And after the game, he shared a moment with Brady, the greatest football player ever.

Brissett should be a popular player for the Commanders.

WATCH: Chiefs vs. Eagles Mic’d Up for Super Bowl LVII

Watch all of the best Mic’d Up moments from the #Chiefs vs. Eagles matchup in Super Bowl LVII.

The NFL’s Game Day All Access has delivered the Super Bowl LVII Mic’d Up with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Philadelphia Eagles, showing some of the best behind-the-scenes moments during the course of the big game.

During pregame warm-ups, a candid interaction between Chiefs QB coach Matt Nagy and QB Patrick Mahomes would tell the tale.

“This is what it feels like huh,” Nagy asked Mahomes.

“Yessir,” Mahomes replied.

“That’s good,” Nagy said.

“Great, baby,” Mahomes said. “Wait (until) after we win this shit.”

That was just the beginning. There are plenty of great moments for Kansas City fans to listen in on during this one.

Travis Kelce’s leadership was center stage. He encouraged Harrison Butker after his missed kick, saying, “You know we’re going to need that golden leg!” Of course, Butker went on to kick the game-winning field goal. Then he managed to hype up Kadarius Toney just ahead of his score in the second half.

A jarring moment was seeing just how much pain Patrick Mahomes was in after he rolled his ankle while he was tackled. His guttural moans of anguish showed you just how much pain he was in and battling through.

Another really cool moment was getting to see Isiah Pacheco’s energy on the sideline after his touchdown run. He’s the type of guy that the phrase, “run through a brick wall” was invented for.

There were some dramatic moments, like the no-catch ruling on Nick Bolton’s second fumble returned for a touchdown. We found out that Andy Reid actually wanted a timeout on the play that was broken where Skyy Moore ended up scoring a touchdown. The best part, in my humble opinion, was seeing the raw emotion after the clock hit zero.

Be sure to watch all the excitement in the video at the top of the page!

Mic’d-up Chiefs coaches couldn’t believe Patrick Mahomes threw a TD with team in the wrong formation

Mahomes is THAT good.

If you needed any indication as to how well the Chiefs played in the second half of Sunday’s Super Bowl 57, just look at the fourth-quarter touchdown to Skyy Moore.

The Chiefs weren’t lined up in the right formation, and they managed to score anyway.

On the latest edition of Inside the NFL from NFL Films, we got a mic’d-up look at the Chiefs’ 38-35 win over the Eagles. And one sequence, in particular, stood out. Shortly after Kadarius Toney’s 65-yard punt return put the Chiefs inside the five-yard line, Mahomes connected with Moore on a short touchdown pass to extend the lead to eight points.

But in that footage, we saw that head coach Andy Reid wanted to call a timeout, which wasn’t granted. That was because Reid saw that the Chiefs weren’t in the right formation. Mahomes knew that at the line and made it work anyway.

When Mahomes got to the sidelines, an awestruck Matt Nagy grabbed him and shouted, “We were in the wrong (expletive) formation!”

Mahomes said, “I know we were. I know. That’s why I went to motion him right.”

Plays are never truly doomed when Mahomes is at quarterback. That much is clear.

Mic’d-up video showed what Patrick Mahomes told the Chiefs after hurting his ankle in the Super Bowl

That toughness was legendary.

In the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes’ ankle was a major talking point. After all, Mahomes had suffered a high-ankle sprain — typically a multi-week injury — in the AFC Championship and played through the pain to get the Chiefs to Arizona.

Come Sunday, he’d have to show his toughness once again.

Late in the first half, Mahomes aggravated that ankle injury after getting tackled on a scramble. He limped to the sidelines in serious pain, and backup quarterback Chad Henne was even getting loose in case Mahomes couldn’t go. Mahomes, though, was never leaving that game.

On Tuesday, NFL Films released mic’d-up footage from that aggravated ankle injury, and it was wild to hear Mahomes go from complete agony to “I’ll be fine” and “I’m good” in a matter of seconds.

Mahomes wasn’t lying either.

In one of the biggest plays of the game, Mahomes picked up a first down on a 26-yard scramble to get the Chiefs into field goal range. That play helped put Kansas City in a position to run out the clock and kick the go-ahead field goal. And again, he burned the Eagles defense on basically one leg.

To hear how he handled the injury on the sidelines made it even more special. Those videos don’t get old.
