Former Georgia commit Micah Debose says Auburn is his top school

Micah Debose, a four-star offensive lineman, has named Auburn his top school.

[autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and Co. have made a living off of flipping prospects from their rivals since they arrived at Auburn and they are well on their way to doing it once again.

Four-star offensive lineman [autotag]Micah Debose[/autotag] committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in January 2022 but the Tigers kept recruiting him and he decided to reopen his recruitment back in December. Auburn was immediately seen as one of the top contenders for the Mobile native and on Tuesday he confirmed it.

“Auburn is my top school,” Debose told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Auburn is on a roll and starting a new era. They are bringing in top players like Cam Coleman, Perry Thompson and maybe even Ryan Williams. Auburn is going up, they are moving in the right direction and I could jump on the wave and be part of a new era there.”

While Auburn is his leader, they are far from the only school pursuing him. He has visited Alabama and Ohio State several times and USC recently offered him.

Debose is the No. 38 overall player and No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the On3 industry ranking. He is also the No. 2 player from Alabama.

Auburn becomes frontrunner to land 2025 four-star OL Micah DeBose

Days after backing off his pledge to Georgia, the Mobile product is now expected to commit to Auburn.

Auburn earned the commitment of 2025 defensive lineman Antonio Coleman on Friday, and it appears as if the Tigers are the favorites to land another one of the class’s best linemen.

On3’s Cole Pinkston has logged a prediction that involves four-star OL [autotag]Micah DeBose[/autotag] and Auburn. Pinkston has named Auburn the favorite to secure DeBose just days after he backed off his pledge to Georgia.

The Mobile product was on campus for a visit during Iron Bowl weekend. DeBose was impressed with the atmosphere and told Pinkston that [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and the Auburn coaching staff had a great chance to flip his commitment away from Georgia.

“I’m committed to Georgia, but Auburn has about a 60-70% chance to flip me,” DeBose told Pinkston after Auburn’s Iron Bowl loss to Alabama ($). “They are headed in the right direction. I feel like I can come here and build a legacy with a new team instead of adding on to a team that’s already winning.”

Auburn’s 2025 haul is currently ranked No. 3 by 247Sports with eight commitments. Adding DeBose would cause Auburn’s class to jump Alabama for the No. 2 slot for the cycle according to 247Sports’ class calculator. DeBose is a 6-5, 315 offensive tackle from Vigor High School in Mobile. He is the No. 7 prospect from the state of Alabama for the 2025 cycle, and is the No. 8 offensive tackle nationally.

Auburn is pushing to flip Georgia commit Micah DeBose

Could he be the next elite player that Hugh Freeze and Co. flip from an SEC rival?

[autotag]Micah DeBose[/autotag] is committed to the Georgia Bulldogs but the four-star offensive lineman has spent back-to-back weekends on the Plains.

[autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and offensive line coach [autotag]Jake Thornton[/autotag] are leading Auburn’s push for the elite 2025 offensive lineman and they are certainly making an impact, he told Auburn Undercover’s Christian Clemente.

“But I feel like if they’re doing that and after the season that they just came off of, they’re going to be good. They’re bringing in some big-time players, too. Perry Thompson, oh my God. This is going to be some trouble. I might hop on the ride too, I can’t lie.”

The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder added that Auburn has a “60-70 percent chance” to flip him from the Bulldogs.

DeBose is the No. 29 overall player and No. 3 offensive tackle in the 247Sports composite ranking. The Mobile product is also the No. 4 player from Alabama.

5-star UGA commit Micah DeBose updates his recruitment process

Five-star UGA football commit Micah DeBose updates his recruitment status before the 2023 high school football season

Five-star offensive tackle recruit Micah DeBose committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in January 2023. DeBose, a member of the class of 2025, remains committed to the Georgia Bulldogs.

Ohio State offered a scholarship to DeBose in late July, and the Buckeyes are one of DeBose’s top three schools. DeBose is keeping his recruitment open. The five-star has a couple of years left in the recruiting process.

DeBose notes he is also considering graduating early. It is unclear if this would mean reclassifying to the class of 2024 or enrolling early as a member of the class of 2025.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive tackle is one of the top recruits in the country. DeBose, who plays football for Vigor High School in Prichard, Alabama, is considered the No. 16 recruit in the class of 2025, per 247Sports. The talented offensive lineman is the third-ranked player at his position and the third-ranked player in Alabama in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Kirby Smart and Georgia have the No. 1 class of 2025 in the nation. It sounds like the Bulldogs will have to hold off Ohio State if Georgia wants to maintain DeBose’s commitment.

Ohio State offers 2025 Georgia offensive line commit

The Buckeyes are the latest power to offer this Georgia commit #GoBucks

[autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] and Georgia don’t just see each other in the College Football Playoff, they often go toe-to-toe against each other for recruits.

Both schools are among the best in the country when it comes to assembling talent, and once again, they are butting heads for a prospect. Alabama offensive tackle [autotag]Micah DeBose[/autotag], a 6-foot, 5-inch, 315- pound mauler has been committed to the Bulldogs since the middle of January.

On Tuesday, Ohio State offered DeBose, the nation’s No. 3 rated tackle and 18th overall player according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The Buckeyes aren’t the only school trying to flip the talented tackle. Since his verbal, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, and Oklahoma have also offered.

It is a long time until DeBose will put his signature on a national letter of intent, so expect Ohio State, along with other schools, to continue to recruit the young man.

LSU trying to flip this elite 2025 offensive tackle committed to Georgia

The Tigers recently offered Mobile prospect Micah DeBose, who pledged to the Bulldogs in January.

[autotag]Micah DeBose[/autotag] is a 6-foot-5, 315-pound, four-star offensive tackle in the class of 2025. DeBose is from Mobile, Alabama, where he plays for Vigor High School. The Vigor Wolves finished the 2022 season 5-4 and failed to make the playoffs just one year after winning the 4A state championship.

DeBose currently has no Crystal Ball projections at this time but he is currently committed to playing for the back-to-back national champion  Georgia Bulldogs.

Film Analysis: DeBose plays in one of the toughest regions in the state of Alabama so he goes up against top-level talent every week. DeBose is a mauler at the line of scrimmage and would fit in well at LSU.
