Two teams are No. 1 for the first time ever in the Bushnell/Golfweek Div. I Coaches Polls

These polls are for the week of Nov. 1, 2024.

The Ole Miss men’s golf team is No. 1 for the first time ever in the Bushnell/Golfweek Div. I Coaches Poll.

The Rebels have won two fall tournaments and finished no worse than second in two others. They received 15 first-place votes and 489 total points and have vaulted from No. 6 to the top spot.

Oklahoma, with four first-place votes, slides back from No. 1 to No. 2. Auburn (one first-place vote), Arizona State and Texas round out the top five.

Washington & Lee is No. 1 for the first time ever in the Bushnell/Golfweek Div. III Coaches Poll. The Generals broke multiple team records while winning the Golfweek October Classic and received 10 first-place votes and 274 points in the process. Their rise to the top ends an 11-poll run by Methodist, which got one first-place vote and now sits in the No. 2 spot.

With consecutive wins at the Valero Texas Collegiate on Sep. 23 and Ben Hogan Collegiate on Oct. 1, Oklahoma has been elevated into the top spot in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Div. I Coaches Poll for Oct. 11, 2024.

The Sooners received seven first-place votes and 388 points, five more than previous No. 1 Auburn (eight first-place votes and 383 points).

Arizona State, Virginia (one first-place vote) and Vanderbilt rounded out the top five.

Preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Div. I Coaches Polls are released; Auburn is No. 1 in Div. I

The preseason Bushnell/Golfweek men’s college golf polls are out.

The preseason Bushnell/Golfweek men’s college golf polls for the 2024-25 season have been released.

After completing one of the greatest seasons in men’s college golf history in 2023-24, Auburn starts the new year as the No. 1-team in the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Div. I Coaches Poll. The defending national champion Tigers received 14 first-place votes and 409 points on Aug. 30.

Arizona State (two first-place votes) is second, Florida State (one first-place vote) is third, with Vanderbilt and North Carolina rounding out the top five.

Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, Illinois and Florida complete the top 10.

After the latest round of confernece realignment, the Div. I poll features 11 SEC teams, six from the ACC, four from the Big 12 and four Big 10 teams.

After placing second at the national championship in May and winning six tournaments last season, Odessa is No. 1 in the Preseason Bushnell/Golfweek NJCAA Div. I Coaches Poll. The Wranglers received one first-place vote and 55 points on August 30, nine more than Midland (46 points).

Defending national champion New Mexico JC (three first-place votes), Indian Hills and Hutchinson rounded out the top five, while McLennan, Central Alabama, Ranger, Western Texas, Dodge City, Eastern Florida State  and New Mexico Military Institute completed the poll.

II Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs received three first-place votes and 39 points on August 30, two more than Kirkwood (one first-place vote and 37 points).

South Mountain (Arizona), Roane State and Des Moines Area rounded out the top five, while Parkland, Meridian, Murray State (OK), East Central and Iowa Central completed the poll.

After winning the 2022 NCAA Div. III Men’s Golf National Championship by eight strokes, Methodist is No. 1 in the final Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll for the spring season.

The Monarchs’ national title is the 13th in program history.

They were led by national individual champion Andre Chi, who became the 11th medalist produced by the Methodist program.

This top 25 is in order of finish at the Div. III championship.

Methodist men’s golf wins 2022 NCAA Division III Championship

Methodist won the team and individual title at the 2022 NCAA Division III Championship.

The Methodist men’s golf team made it a sweep with the team and individual titles at the 2022 NCAA Division III Championship on Friday.

The Monarchs finished 20 over to win by eight shots over Hampden-Sydney College in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida. Huntingdon College and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps tied for third at 34 over. Emory was fifth at 40 over.

Methodist, a private school in Fayetteville, North Carolina, won its first title since 2018 and 13th team Div. III national championship overall. The school was runner-up in 2021.

Andre Chi of Methodist won medalist honors. He shot 73-70-70-70 over the four days to finish at 4 under, two better than Will Hocker of Webster. Chi is Methodist’s10th individual winner.

Nick Rubino of Hampden-Sydney and JF Aber of Wittenberg University finished tied for third at 1 under. Those four golfers were the only ones to finish under par among the 96 golfers in the championship.

That’s more than enough to keep the Monarchs, who received 16 of 17 first-place votes, in the top spot in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll.

Emory is No. 2 after receiving one first-place vote. Huntingdon, Wittenberg and Babson take up Nos. 3, 4 and 5 respectively. Kenyon College is new to the poll this time around and checks in at No. 20.

Emory is the No. 1-ranked team to open the spring 2022 season, according to the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll, which was released on Friday.

Emory collected 497 total votes, 20 ahead of Methodist. Babson checks in at No. 3 with 439 and shoots up the poll from the No. 7 spot it held in the final 2021 poll.

Huntingdon is No. 4, while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps rounds out the top 5.

Big mover: Willamette, up four spots to No. 10. New to the poll for the spring: Pomona-Pitzer, which is 25th after being unranked the last time out.
