Auburn moves into top spot in Bushnell/Golfweek men’s college golf coaches poll for March 1

Who are the No. 1 teams in men’s college golf?

The Bushnell/Golfweek Division I coaches poll has a new No. 1 for the first time in 2023-24: Auburn.

After the Tigers stormed to finish second in the Southern Highlands Collegiate on Feb. 27, they received 11 first-place votes and 462 points, nine more than five-time previous No. 1 North Carolina (six first-place votes and 453 points). 

Vanderbilt (two first-place votes), Arizona State and Washington rounded out the top five, while Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Arkansas completed the top 10.

In Division II, North Georgia is No. 1 for the fifth straight time, receiving all 19 first-place votes and 475 points in the process.

Here’s a look at the top teams in the April 14th rankings.

After a win in the Mason Rudolph Championship, Vanderbilt continues as the top-ranked team in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division I men’s college golf coaches poll for April 14. The Commodores received 19 first-place votes and 523 points in the process. 

North Carolina (one first-place vote), Texas Tech, Arizona State and Illinois (one first-place vote) rounded out the top five, while Florida State, Pepperdine, Auburn, Stanford and Florida completed the top 10.

In Division II, Anderson remains the top-ranked team. Similar in Division III, Emory is holding on to the top spot. Keiser passed Lindsey Wilson to retake No. 1 in the NAIA poll. New Mexico JC and South Maintain are on top in the NJCAA polls.

Here’s a look at the top teams in the March 24 rankings.

After two top-three finishes in March, including a win at the Cabo Collegiate against a field that included nine other ranked teams, Vanderbilt continues as the Bushnell/Golfweek Div. I coaches poll top-ranked team for March 24. The Commodores received 18 first-place votes and 473 points.

Vanderbilt is far from the only team to remain in the top spot. In Div. II, Anderson also remained in the top spot, receiving 12 first-place votes and 324 points.

Meanwhile, in Div. III, Emory moved up two spots to regain the top spot, passing Methodist and Christopher Newport. Lindsay Wilson passed Keiser to take No. 1 in the NAIA poll. In NJCAA, Hutchinson and Mississippi Gulf Coast are the teams leading the pack.

Christopher Newport begins spring 2023 how it finished fall 2022, ranked No. 1 in the Bushnell/Golfweek Div. III Coaches Poll. The Captains, who received 11 first-place votes and 412 points for Feb. 10’s poll, edged Methodist (three first-place votes and 408 points) for the top spot.

Following Methodist, the top five was rounded out by Emory (two first-place votes), Wittenberg, and Piedmont. Carnegie Mellon, Redlands, Willamette (one first-place vote), Illinois Wesleyan, and Washington & Lee completed the top 10.

With two victories in its final three fall tournaments, Christopher Newport is the Bushnell/Golfweek Division III coaches poll’s top-ranked team for Nov. 18.

The Captains, who jumped from No. 5 in the Oct. 28 poll, received all nine first-place votes and 413 points for their first No. 1 ranking of 2022-23.

Emory (five first-place votes), Methodist (one first-place vote), Wittenberg (one first-place vote), and Piedmont round out the top five. Carnegie Mellon, Redlands, Willamette, Illinois Wesleyan and Washington & Lee complete the top 10.

The biggest movers with Christopher Newport were Saint John’s (MN) (one first-place vote), who rose from No. 20 to No. 16, and Sewanee (No. 18 from No. 22).

Emory is the Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll’s top-ranked team for October 28.

With top-three finishes in four of their five fall tournaments thus far, including wins at the Piedmont Invitational and Golfweek D-III Invitational, Emory is the Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll’s top-ranked team for Oct. 28. The Eagles received all 18 first-place votes for their first No. 1 ranking of 2022-23.

Methodist, Wittenberg (moved up seven spots from No. 10 to No. 3), Piedmont, and Christopher Newport round out the top five. Carnegie Mellon, Redlands, who jumped 12 spots up from No. 19 to No. 7, Willamette (moved up 10 spots to No. 8), Washington & Lee, and Illinois Wesleyan complete the top 10.

California Lutheran (No. 19) and East Texas Baptist (No. 25) made their first appearances in the top 25 in 2022-23, while five others who received votes on September 30 are in.

Babson, Berry, Kenyon, Hamilton, Rhodes, Rochester, Gettysburg, Skidmore, Occidental, Dallas, Lynchburg, Averett, Denison, Trinity, Chapman, NYU and Whitman were others receiving votes in this poll.

The Monarchs received 16 of a possible 17 first-place votes. Illinois Wesleyan, ranked ninth, got the other first-place vote.

Emory, Huntingdon, Carnegie Mellon, and Christopher Newport round out the top five.

Guilford was the big mover in this poll, going from No. 24 to No. 8.

After winning the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championship by eight strokes in, Methodist is No. 1 in the first Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll for the 2022-23 season.

The Monarchs received 13 first-place votes in the process.

Emory got one first-place vote and checks in at No. 2. Huntingdon, Carnegie Mellon and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, which also got one first-place vote, round out the top five.

Wittenberg, Illinois Wesleyan, Sewanee, Christopher Newport, and Hampden-Sydney complete the top 10.
