Auburn moves into top spot in Bushnell/Golfweek men’s college golf coaches poll for March 1

Who are the No. 1 teams in men’s college golf?

The Bushnell/Golfweek Division I coaches poll has a new No. 1 for the first time in 2023-24: Auburn.

After the Tigers stormed to finish second in the Southern Highlands Collegiate on Feb. 27, they received 11 first-place votes and 462 points, nine more than five-time previous No. 1 North Carolina (six first-place votes and 453 points). 

Vanderbilt (two first-place votes), Arizona State and Washington rounded out the top five, while Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Arkansas completed the top 10.

In Division II, North Georgia is No. 1 for the fifth straight time, receiving all 19 first-place votes and 475 points in the process.

North Carolina leads Bushnell/Golfweek Div. I coaches poll for Oct. 27

There has been only one team to top the Div. I coaches poll so far this season.

There has been only one team to top the Bushnell/Golfweek coaches poll for the 2023-24 season: the North Carolina Tar Heels.

With a win at The Williams Cup and a runner-up finish at the St. Andrews Links Collegiate, the Tar Heels maintained a hold of the top spot for the latest ranking, which was released Friday.

The Tar Heels received 13 first-place votes and 561 points in the process, 14 more than Vanderbilt (eight first-place votes and 547 points). 

Auburn (two first-place votes), Arizona State, and Georgia Tech rounded out the top five, while Tennessee, Washington, Mississippi, East Tennessee State, and Virginia completed the top 10.

The Commodores have finished the regular season where they started it, in the top spot in the Bushnell/Golfweek Div. I Coaches Poll. Vanderbilt received 19 of the 20 first-place votes and 498 total points in this latest poll.

North Carolina, Arizona State, Illinois (which received the remaining first-place vote) and Texas Tech make up the rest of the top five.

Stanford, Florida State, Pepperdine, Georgia Tech, and Florida check in at Nos. 6 through 10.

San Diego State and Wake Forest joined the poll after not being ranked the last time out.

Here’s a look at the top teams in the March 24 rankings.

After two top-three finishes in March, including a win at the Cabo Collegiate against a field that included nine other ranked teams, Vanderbilt continues as the Bushnell/Golfweek Div. I coaches poll top-ranked team for March 24. The Commodores received 18 first-place votes and 473 points.

Vanderbilt is far from the only team to remain in the top spot. In Div. II, Anderson also remained in the top spot, receiving 12 first-place votes and 324 points.

Meanwhile, in Div. III, Emory moved up two spots to regain the top spot, passing Methodist and Christopher Newport. Lindsay Wilson passed Keiser to take No. 1 in the NAIA poll. In NJCAA, Hutchinson and Mississippi Gulf Coast are the teams leading the pack.

Here’s a look at the top teams in the March 3 rankings.

The Golf Coaches Association of America has released its second Bushnell/Golfweek men’s college golf coaches polls of the spring semester, and there are some familiar names on top.

In Division I, Vanderbilt strengthened its grip on the top spot. The Commodores received 20 first-place votes and had 500 points. Meanwhile, Texas Tech moved into the No. 2 position.

In Division II, Anderson (SC) also held on to the No. 1 position.

Christopher Newport (Div. III) and Keiser (NAIA) also held on to their spots. IN NJCAA Div. I, Hutchinson jumped New Mexico JC to take the top spot.

Auburn men’s golf surges into top spot in Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll

Auburn received 11 first-place votes and 460 points in the poll.

After its wire-to-wire title at the 2022 Isleworth Collegiate, Auburn jumped into the Bushnell/Golfweek’s Division I Coaches Poll’s No. 1 spot for Oct. 28. The Tigers end their fall campaign with victories at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate, Marquette Invitational and Isleworth.

Auburn received 11 first-place votes and 460 total points in the poll. Vanderbilt (six first-place votes and 450 points), Arizona State, Texas Tech, and North Carolina, who moved up eight spots from their No. 13 spot on Sept. 30, round out the top five, while Stanford, Tennessee, Illinois, Florida and Georgia Tech complete the top 10.

Pepperdine moved up from No. 25 to No. 15, Colorado State from receiving votes to No. 18, and the trio of San Diego State, Mississippi State, and Oregon enter in.

Georgia Southern, LSU, North Florida, Purdue and Washington all received votes.

Lee men’s golf tops first Bushnell/Golfweek Div. II Coaches Poll for 2022-23 season

Lee is the defending national champion in Division II men’s golf.

After capturing its first NCAA men’s golf championship last May, Lee is starts the new season in the No. 1 spot in the first Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll of Fall 2022.

Lee received 13 first-place votes to lead the way.

Barr is second after getting the remaining five first-place votes. Oklahoma Christian, Lincoln Memorial, and Georgia Southwestern round out the top five.

North Georgia, West Florida, Limestone, South Carolina-Aiken, and Central Missouri complete the top 10.

Methodist men’s golf tops first Bushnell/Golfweek Div. III Coaches Poll for 2022-23 season

Methodist won the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championship.

After winning the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championship by eight strokes in, Methodist is No. 1 in the first Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll for the 2022-23 season.

The Monarchs received 13 first-place votes in the process.

Emory got one first-place vote and checks in at No. 2. Huntingdon, Carnegie Mellon and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, which also got one first-place vote, round out the top five.

Wittenberg, Illinois Wesleyan, Sewanee, Christopher Newport, and Hampden-Sydney complete the top 10.

There’s only one new team in the top five of the final NJCAA Division II Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll of the fall.

The top four spots on the NJCAA Division II Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll remained the same in the final rankings of the fall portion of the 2019-20 college golf season.

Kirkwood leads the way, followed by South Mountain, Mississippi Gulf Coast and Parkland. The only new team to the top five is No. 5 Mesa, previously seventh.
