Brooklyn Nets at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Brooklyn Nets at Memphis Grizzlies and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (49-23) host the Brooklyn Nets (38-34) Wednesday at the FedExForum for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we look at the Nets vs. Pistons odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Brooklyn has won 6 of its last 7 games — 5-2 against the spread (ATS) —  which includes back-to-back victories at home over the Portland Trail Blazers Friday (128-123) and the Utah Jazz Monday (114-106).

Memphis is 5-1 straight up (SU), but just 3-3 ATS in the last six games with the most recent being a 122-98 beatdown of the Rockets Sunday in Houston.

The Grizzlies hammered the Nets 118-104 in Brooklyn Jan. 3 as 6.5-point road underdogs and the Nets had both Kevin Durant and James Harden in the lineup.

Nets at Grizzlies odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 123, Grizzlies 114

Money line

GIMME the NETS (-125)  for 1 unit because they are just a different team when both KD and Kyrie Irving play.

According to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG), Brooklyn scores 18.3 more points per 100 possessions when both KD and Kyrie are on the floor, which would rank in the 99th percentile of all 5-man lineups.

Furthermore, the Nets have flipped the switch post-All-Star break. Brooklyn is 4-2 SU on the road since the All-Star Game, third in adjusted net rating (plus-12.2) and first in ATS margin (plus-15.2), per CTG.

Also, the Nets are 7-1 ATS in their last nine road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six on the road versus teams with a winning record.

On top of that, the Grizzlies (+102) would feel like a fake sharp bet. Technically, Memphis scores 3.5 fewer points per 100 possessions when Morant is on the floor, per CTG. But, the Grizzlies will need someone who can create their own look, especially against two of the NBA’s best scorers.

I’d BET the NETS (-125)  all the way up to -140 before laying up to 3.5 points with Brooklyn.

Against the spread

PASS  since Brooklyn’s ML is only 13 cents on the dollar more expensive than the Nets -1.5. (-112).

Obviously, Brooklyn should win by margin here but I’m confident enough in the Nets to take their ML instead of having to sweat them ATS.

Over/Under

PASS  because there’s no value in this line since my prediction aligns with the market’s projected total. For what it’s worth, Brooklyn is 37-34-1 O/U (21-15-1 O/U on the road) and Memphis is 37-32-3 O/U (17-16-1 O/U at home).

Memphis Grizzlies at Atlanta Hawks odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Atlanta Hawks and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (48-22) head down to the Big Peach Friday for a cross-conference showdown with the Atlanta Hawks (34-35). Tip-off at State Farm Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Hawks odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Memphis is 5-1 straight up (SU) but 3-3 against the spread (ATS) over the past two weeks with the latest being a 135-102 beatdown of the Pacers Tuesday in Indiana, easily covering as a 6.5-point road favorite.

Atlanta had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 116-106 loss to the Hornets Wednesday in Charlotte as a 1-point road favorite. The Hawks have lost seven straight ATS.

The Hawks crushed the Grizzlies 132-100 in Memphis Nov. 26 but Grizzlies All-Star G Ja Morant exited in the first quarter with an ankle injury. Atlanta All-Star G Trae Young scored a game-high 31 points on 75.0% shooting (3-for-4 from behind the arc).

Grizzlies at Hawks odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawks 121, Grizzlies 113

Money line

Slight LEAN to the HAWKS (+175) because of how well they perform at home against quality competition. The Grizzlies are getting a bunch of love in the betting market and have a top-5 net rating.

Atlanta is 9-2 SU versus teams in the top-10 of net efficiency with a plus-6.4 adjusted net rating (ranked fourth) and a plus-5.4 ATS margin (ranked third) according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

We are also seeing some reverse line movement in Atlanta’s direction. Roughly 80% of the cash is on the Grizzlies but Memphis has been lowered from a -250 ML favorite on the opener according to Pregame.com. It’s a red flag when sportsbooks make the more popular side cheaper.

The Hawks are an above-average rebounding team and have the best offensive turnover rate in the NBA. Two of Memphis’s paths to victory this season have been getting easy buckets off turnovers and by crashing the glass.

If Atlanta takes care of the rock and finishes defensive possessions with rebounds then the HAWKS (+175) should cash. It’s only a lean and not a sprinkle on Atlanta’s ML since Trae’s official game status is pending.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

BET HAWKS +5.5 (-115) heavier than or instead of their ML based on the aforementioned logic and because Atlanta struggles in tight games.

The Hawks are just 15-17 SU in the “clutch” with a minus-13.1 net rating. “Clutch” is defined by games within a 5-point margin inside of five minutes to play. Just taking Atlanta’s ML could be costly if the Hawks choke this game away.

The HAWKS PLUS THE POINTS is my favorite wager in this game.

Over/Under

PASS because I am much more confident in the Atlanta sides than the total in this contest. Also, these teams play at the opposite pace and Atlanta is a completely different team with Trae off the floor.

For what it’s worth, a vast majority of the cash is on the Over (per Pregame.com) so I’d prefer to fade the market and take the Under 236.5 (-115).

Memphis Grizzlies at Indiana Pacers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Indiana Pacers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (47-22) face the Indiana Pacers (23-46) Tuesday in the second game of their four-game road trip. Tip-off is 7 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Pacers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Grizzlies have won three games in a row and seven of their last nine overall and share second place in the Western Conference with the Golden State Warriors. The Grizzlies beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 125-118 Sunday and trail the first-place Phoenix Suns by 7.5 games.

The Pacers are coming off a 131-128 road loss Sunday to the Atlanta Hawks. They have lost four of their last five and only have four wins in 17 games since the start of February. With 13 games left in the season, they are 11 games behind the 10th-place Charlotte Hornets, so there is virtually no chance the Pacers make it to the final play-in game seed in the Eastern Conference.

Grizzlies at Pacers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 121, Pacers 116

Money line

PASS on the money line. Even with Morant unlikely to play for the Grizzlies, because the Pacers are so depleted with injuries themselves, an upset seems unlikely.

The Grizzlies are 23-12 on the road this season. The Pacers are 15-19 at home but are 2-5 there since the start of last month.

You can include a Grizzlies win in a parlay, but don’t make it a single bet.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

The Grizzlies have won three straight games but have failed to cover the spread in their last two games. They are 4-6 ATS in their last 10 games. They have been a very good ATS bet most of the season on the road at 23-12 ATS and 44-25 ATS overall.

The Pacers are 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games and have covered the spread in the last two. They are 16-17 ATS at home.

I expect a competitive game with Morant not expected to play.

Take the PACERS +7.5 (-122).

Over/Under

Three of the last four games for the Pacers have finished with totals higher than Tuesday’s projected total. That extends out to six of their last nine as well.

Three of the last four for the Grizzlies also have been over Tuesday’s projection.

Take OVER 234.5 (-112).

Memphis Grizzlies at Oklahoma City Thunder odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Oklahoma City Thunder odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (46-22) open a four-game road trip Sunday against the Oklahoma City Thunder (20-46). Tip-off is 7 p.m. ET at Paycom Center. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Thunder odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Grizzlies have won their last two games, most recently a 118-114 home victory over the New York Knicks Friday. They are tied with the Golden State Warriors for second in the Western Conference and trail the Phoenix Suns by 7.5 games.

The Thunder are riding a four-game losing skid and have been losing badly. The smallest margin of defeat along that span is 13 points while the largest is 37 points. They have the second-worst record in the Western Conference.

Grizzlies at Thunder odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 124, Thunder 109

Money line

PASS on the money line.

You just can’t place a single bet and wager 11 times what you can win to bet on the Grizzlies and you shouldn’t bet the Thunder when they only have nine home wins all season and have been getting blown out in every game over the last four games.

You could use the Grizzlies on the money line in a parlay bet, but that is all that is worth it. The Thunder have the second-fewest home wins in the league. The Grizzlies, at 22-12 on the road, have the second-most road victories.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

The Thunder have lost their last four games by an average of 26.8 points per game. The smallest margin of defeat in their six losses since the All-Star break was 13 points. They are 16-13-4 ATS at home this season.

The Grizzlies are 23-11 ATS on the road. They beat the Thunder 152-79 in their first meeting and lost 102-99 in the second.

Take the GRIZZLIES -13.5 (-107).

Over/Under

The Grizzlies have scored no fewer than 116 points and have averaged 125.1 points per game across their last 11 wins.

In the two games between the teams this season, the totals have been 231 and 201 points.

The Thunder have averaged 110.6 points in their last 11 games overall.

Take OVER 229.5 (-115).

New Orleans Pelicans at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s New Orleans Pelicans at Memphis Grizzlies odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (44-22) host the New Orleans Pelicans (27-37) Tuesday at the FedExForum for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off. Below we look at the Pelicans vs. Grizzlies odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

NOLA had its 4-game winning streak — 4-0 against the spread (ATS) — snapped Sunday with a 138-130 overtime loss at the Denver Nuggets, failing to cover as 4.5-point road underdogs.

Memphis is 3-3 straight up (SU) and ATS since the All-Star break with its last game being a 123-112 upset loss at the Houston Rockets as 10.5-point road favorites.

These teams are tied 1-1 SU and ATS this season, both in NOLA, and the total is 1-1 Over/Under in those games.

Pelicans at Grizzlies odds, spread and lines

Pelicans at Grizzlies odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Pelicans 115, Grizzlies 112

Money line

Slight “LEAN” to the PELICANS (+175) for a small wager, if at all, because NOLA plus the points is the much sharper play.

The Pelicans have the best adjusted net rating and ATS margin over the past two weeks, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Also, NOLA’s SU and ATS loss at Denver Sunday is a misleading result. That game was a seesaw battle where the Pelicans rallied from a 21-point deficit to take an 11-point second-half lead before losing as Nuggets’ big Nikola Jokic went all-world in the fourth quarter and overtime.

However, the Pelicans match up very well with the Grizzlies stylistically and there’s value in NOLA stealing this game outright.

Pelicans former All-Star wing Brandon Ingram has been playing at an All-NBA-caliber level since the All-Star game and Ingram’s Pelicans are 6-0 SU versus the Grizzlies when PG Ja Morant is active. Morant was sidelined with an ankle injury for Memphis’s victory over NOLA earlier this season.

Again, if you do take NOLA’s ML, I’d only go LITE on the PELICANS (+175) with the plan of hitting their spread harder.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

Definitely BET the PELICANS +5.5 (-108) instead of or heavier than their ML because NOLA can make it tough for the Grizzlies -5.5 (-112) to execute their game plan.

For instance, Memphis likes to crash the glass, get out in transition and attack the paint. But NOLA is eighth in both second-chance points per game (PPG) and paint PPG allowed and is first in transition defensive efficiency.

Also, the Pelicans’ trade deadline acquisition of SG C.J. McCollum added a guard to NOLA’s backcourt that could offset Morant’s dominance.

The PELICANS PLUS THE POINTS is by far my favorite wager in this game.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 231.5 (-115) because both teams are in the bottom-eight of both true shooting percentage and 3-point attempt rate. Plus both are fantastic rebounding teams so there should be a lot of one-and-done possessions.

Furthermore, NOLA is 7-19 O/U as road underdogs. Memphis is 11-13-1 O/U as home favorites and there’s more cash on the Under whereas more bets have been placed on the Over (according to VegasInsider.com). Typically, in sports betting, you want to follow the money when it’s counter to the public.

Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (44-21) visit Toyota Center Sunday to take on the Houston Rockets (15-48). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Rockets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Grizzlies have jumped over the Golden State Warriors for second place in the Western Conference following a 124-96 home win over the Orlando Magic as 16-point favorites Saturday. They are 7-3 against the spread (ATS) over their last 10 games.

Memphis ranks third in points per game (114) and 14th in opponents’ points per game (109). The Grizzlies’ 22-11 road record is the second-best in the West.

The Rockets are just 8-21 at home this season and have covered just three times in their last 10 games. It’s been several tough weeks for Houston as it is just 4-12 ATS over its last 16 outings.

Houston has the worst defense in the NBA and allows the 30th most points per game (118).

Grizzlies at Rockets odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 125, Rockets 112

Money line

PASS.

I wouldn’t bet a team on the road at -700, even if it is Memphis. Similarly, the Grizzlies have been good enough to make the Rockets (+470) unplayable as well.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

BET the GRIZZLIES -10.5 (-108).

Memphis covered Saturday as a 16-point favorite. The Grizzlies have been electric and are led by G Ja Morant who is a top nominee for Most Improved Player.

Memphis is the best-covering team in the NBA at 43-22 ATS, and it’s 10-3 ATS as a road favorite. The Rockets are the sixth-worst team in the league when covering as a home underdog at just 8-17 ATS.

Considering the Grizzlies rank first in offensive rebounding and the Rockets rank 23rd in defensive rebounding, Memphis should have a plethora of second-chance opportunities.

The Grizzlies are 5-1 ATS when spotted double figures. They’ve more than proven that they can handle their business, especially on the road. I expect them to win big in this one.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 234.5 (-115).

If there’s one thing both teams have been good at this season, it is going over the projected total.

Memphis is 34-30-1 O/U this season and is 9-4 O/U over the course of its last 13 games. The Rockets are 5-5 O/U over the last 10, but their lack of defense has allowed them to be 35-27-1 O/U on the year.

With the second chances Memphis should see, it should get easy points and a good amount of them. The Rockets also sit atop the league in pace with Memphis ranked eighth.

Orlando Magic at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Orlando Magic at Memphis Grizzlies odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic (16-48) visit FedExForum Saturday to take on the Memphis Grizzlies (43-21). Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Magic vs. Grizzlies odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Grizzlies are the best covering team in the league at 42-22 ATS. Despite a 120-107 road loss to the Boston Celtics Thursday in their last outing, the Grizzlies have been playing well lately and have covered seven of their last 10 games.

Memphis has also gone over the projected total in seven of those 10 outings. The Grizzlies rank third in points per game (113.8).

Orlando has struggled offensively this season and ranks 28th in true shooting percentage (53.8).

The Magic are just 29-35 ATS and have an Eastern Conference-low 16 wins. Orlando is coming off a 103-97 road win over the Toronto Raptors as a 7.5-point underdog. It has covered four of its last six games.

Magic at Grizzlies odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 118, Magic 100

Money line

PASS.

Memphis should win. It is 21-10 straight up at home and playing the worst team in the Eastern Conference, there’s no value in betting the Grizzlies (-2000) to win outright.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the GRIZZLIES -15.5 (-120).

I don’t typically advise betting an NBA spread this large, but the Grizzlies have been profitable at covering double-digit spreads this season. They’re 4-1 on the season when spotted 10 or more.

They won by 20 or more points in each of the four covers, with two wins coming by well over 30 points. Memphis is 14-10 ATS as a home favorite.

The Magic will be without a key big man in Carter Jr., who averages the third-most minutes and points per game for then. Orlando is just 9-13 ATS against Western Conference teams this season.

Over/Under

BET on the UNDER 229.5 (-115).

I do not see the Magic, a team averaging just 104 points per game, 28th in the league, to have enough firepower to help cover this total. They are just 4-6 O/U in their last 10 games.

Memphis is just 11-12-1 O/U as a home favorite yet is 34-29-1 O/U on the season, so covering the total against weaker teams at home has been difficult for them this season.

Orlando also isn’t that bad on the defensive glass, ranking 15th in defensive rebounding rate which will be important against Memphis’ No. 1 ranked offensive rebounding.

Limiting those second chances will be important, and with Carter Jr. out, veteran 7-foot C Robin Lopez may get more run which should only bode well for their ability to own the paint.

Memphis Grizzlies at Boston Celtics odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Boston Celtics odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The red-hot Boston Celtics (37-27) and Memphis Grizzlies (43-20) will square off Thursday at TD Garden with each seeking their ninth win in their last 11 games. Tip-off in Boston will be at 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Celtics odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Grizzlies are third in the West, 7.5 games behind conference-leading Phoenix. They’ve won eight of their last 10 games, in large part thanks to stellar play from G Ja Morant. Morant has scored 98 points in his last two games and has been dominating since the All-Star break. The Grizzlies are the best rebounding team in the NBA, averaging 49.3 per game, and they’re scoring at a higher clip than all but two teams (113.9 per game).

The Celtics lost by 21 points as 9.5-point favorites Sunday against the Pacers, but they bounced back nicely by beating the Hawks 107-98 despite playing most of the game without SG Jaylen Brown. The Celtics have been great defensively all year, allowing the third-fewest points per game (103.8) and the lowest field goal percentage (43.0%) in the NBA,

Grizzlies at Celtics odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 111, Celtics 108

Money line

As well as the Celtics are playing right now, Morant and the Grizzlies are scorching hot. PG Marcus Smart presents a tough defensive matchup for Morant, but the talented young point guard is still going to get his share of opportunities and with the way he’s been shooting it, he’ll carry Memphis once again.

I like the GRIZZLIES (+110) to win outright against the short-handed Celtics.

Against the spread

When playing on the road against teams above .500 this season, the Grizzlies are 9-5 ATS and 15-10 ATS overall against teams with winning records. The Celtics are just 7-7-1 ATS when hosting teams above .500.

The Grizzlies are only getting points in this matchup because they’re on the road and they’ve been the better team this season. I like the GRIZZLIES +2.5 (-115).

Over/Under

With the way the Celtics are playing defensively and this matchup between Smart and Morant, this could be a lower-scoring game than expected. Brown being out also doesn’t help, which is why I’m taking the UNDER 223.5 (-112).

San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (42-20) host the San Antonio Spurs (24-37) Monday at FedExForum for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we look at the Spurs vs. Grizzlies odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

San Antonio is 1-1 straight up (SU) and 2-0 against the spread (ATS) since the All-Star break, including a 133-129 loss to the Heat Saturday in Miami as a 13-point road underdog. On the road, the Spurs are 13-19 SU but 18-13-1 ATS.

Memphis split its first two games following the All-Star Game, also going 1-1 ATS. The Grizzlies recently won at the Chicago Bulls 116-110 Saturday, covering as 2.5-point favorites. The Grizzlies are 20-10 SU and 18-12 ATS at home.

The Grizzlies have won five consecutive meetings with the Spurs (4-1 ATS), including the first two of this season’s head-to-head series (2-0 ATS).

Spurs at Grizzlies odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 114, Spurs 110

Money line

PASS even though I like San Antonio plus the points here.

Because the Grizzlies (-400) have dominated the Spurs (+300) in recent seasons, I won’t be “sprinkling” on the underdogs’ ML.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

BET SPURS +7.5 (-102) because they can minimize some of the things the Grizzlies do well and there’s slight reverse-line movement (RLM) heading in San Antonio’s direction.

Memphis likes to force turnovers, leading to easy buckets and getting out in transition. But San Antonio is first in offensive-turnover rate, sixth in points off of turnovers allowed and ninth in fast-break points per game (PPG) allowed.

Also, a majority of the action is on the Grizzlies, but the sportsbooks are making Memphis cheaper. Anytime you see this kind of RLM, it should raise red flags. Ask yourself, why would the “House” make the more popular side cheaper?

Finally, San Antonio has been profitable on the road versus quality competition. According to CleaningTheGlass.com, the Spurs have a plus-4.5 ATS margin when visiting teams in the top 10 of adjusted net rating.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 237.5 (-110) for a small wager as a fade against a majority of the market, which is barreling into the Over and all the Over-friendly trends in this game.

The bottom line is it feels like very few people will be on the Under here, and taking the road less traveled in sports betting is typically where you find value.

Memphis Grizzlies at Chicago Bulls odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Chicago Bulls odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (41-20) head to the Windy City Saturday to play the Chicago Bulls (39-21). Tip-off at United Center is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Bulls odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Memphis dropped its first game back from the All-Star break 119-114 at the Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday as a 2-point road favorite. The Grizzlies are 21-10 straight up (SU) and 22-9 against the spread (ATS) on the road.

Chicago held off the Atlanta Hawks Thursday for a 112-108 home win as a 2.5-point favorite to extend its win streak to six games (5-1 ATS). The Bulls are 24-8 SU and 22-10 ATS at home.

The Grizzlies clobbered the Bulls 119-106 in Memphis Jan. 17 as 8.5-point home favorites. Memphis has won and covered versus Chicago in three consecutive meetings.

Grizzlies at Bulls odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 121, Bulls 108

Money line

BET the GRIZZLIES (-135) for 1.25 units for a variety of reasons.

Memphis has a couple of strength-on-weakness edges over Chicago it can and did exploit in their first meeting.

The Grizzlies like to speed up the tempo and attack the paint whereas the Bulls have the fifth-worst transition defensive efficiency and 24th in paint points per game (PPG) allowed.

Memphis won all “four factors” and outscored 64-38 in the paint and 26-9 in fastbreak points in the first Grizzlies-Bulls meeting this season.

This is also a Pros vs. Joe’s game in the betting market since most of the money is on the Grizzlies but a slight majority of the bets placed are on the Bulls, according to Pregame.com.

It’s typically wise to follow the money especially when it’s counter to the public. Plus oddsmakers are reacting to the presumed sharp money by moving Memphis’s ML from +110 on the opener up to the current price.

The Grizzlies are much deeper than the Bulls who have been super reliant on DeMar DeRozan‘s brilliance. Memphis’s bench scores 37.0 PPG (ranked eighth) and Chicago’s bench averages 26.5 PPG (ranked 29th).

GIMME the GRIZZLIES (-135) for 1.25 units.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

PASS because Memphis’s ML is only 15 cents on the dollar more expensive than the Grizzlies -1.5 (-120) so we don’t need to sweat a cover.

I’d bet Memphis’s ML up to -145 before taking the Grizzlies’ spread for a lesser-sized wager.

Over/Under

PASS with a slight “lean” towards the Under 237.5 (-115) as a fade against the betting market and situational trends.

A majority of the cash wagered is on the Over, according to Pregame.com and VegasInsider.com. That’s probably because the Grizzlies are 9-3 O/U as road favorites and the Bulls are 5-2 O/U as home underdogs.

It feels too easy to take the Over 237.5 (-107) here but, aside from that angle, I don’t have much analysis for the total.
