Spring practice is officially underway at Ohio State and there are plenty of storylines. Here are five of the most important to watch.

Football is back at Ohio State — sort of. It’s not the type of football you plan your life around and eat copious amounts of meat products in front of the television for, but it’s still football.

Spring practice has begun in earnest in Columbus and there are storylines abounding. As is the case every year, there are players to replace, gaps that need filled, and coaching changes to absorb.

At a place like Ohio State though, there’s no reset of expectations, it’s on to the next year with championship goals in mind. So off we go in what many see as the start of molding another Buckeye squad capable of big things again.

Here are five big storylines to watch as Ryan Day and company step through spring ball.

Five way too early bold predictions for Ohio State football in 2020

We’re looking way ahead to this fall and throwing out five way too early bold predictions for Ohio State football in 2020.

If you feel like you’re in the college football equivalent of purgatory, you are not alone. It may have only been less than two months since Ohio State lost in shocking and depressing fashion to Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl, but it feels much longer.

We’ll have spring ball soon enough, but until then, we’re left to question what if, why, and for what reason? But enough about the past, we’re here to look ahead — perhaps way ahead to next season.

We always roll out some bold predictions for the upcoming football season, but this time we’re getting ahead of the game with five way-too-early bold predictions for this fall. By the way, we nailed every single one of our bold predictions before the season last year.

That means we’ll probably be way off this time, but nonetheless, we’ll give it the old college football try.

Ohio State vs. Clemson Buckeye Battle Cry: What advantage can the Buckeyes exploit?

What one area does Ohio State have over Clemson that it can exploit to win the 2019 Fiesta Bowl? Members of our staff discuss in our BBC.

Okay, it’s almost time for the biggest of the big ones. Ohio State and Clemson are finishing up their preparations for one of the College Football Playoff national semifinals, and doing it all in the desert at the Playstation Fiesta Bowl. And it’s Friday, so it’s time for our weekly roundtable we like to call the Buckeye Battle Cry.

So far there’s been a lot of build up and a lot of talk, but it’s almost time to put the pads on, strap up the helmets and settle it all on the field. Oh but wait. Seems like nobody is giving Ohio State a shot in this one because last time the two met, the Buckeyes got taken behind the woodshed to the tune of a 31-0 drubbing.

But it’s a completely different team on both sidelines so that should mean little in this one. In fact, Ohio State has some advantages over this Clemson team. On that note, we decided to ask our contributors the one thing about this Buckeye squad that could mean all the difference in beating the defending champions and moving on to New Orleans for a national championship.

Have at it Mark.
