Oklahoma offers three-star offensive tackle Isaiah Autry after visit to Norman

Oklahoma joins Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, and others in offering three-star OT Isaiah Autry

Oklahoma’s weekend was jam-packed and filled with excitement. They hosted a number of prospects from across the country for their ‘Future Freaks’ recruiting day. One prospect, in particular, Isaiah Autry, earned an offer on during visit.

Autry, a three-star offensive tackle prospect, comes from Tupelo, Mississippi. Autry stands 6-foot-6 and is a strong young man that could add more weight to his frame. Ole Miss is the perceived leader in his recruitment, while Alabama, Florida State, and Auburn have also offered him.

Autry also has a firm connection with a person OU fans know very well. He is the younger cousin of former Oklahoma running back [autotag]Marcus Dupree[/autotag]. Oklahoma is still seeking its first offensive line commit for the 2024 class. It remains to be seen if this recruitment blossoms anything significant, but Oklahoma has tossed its hat into the battle.

A look back at Oklahoma-Nebraska through the years in fantastic still images

A look back at the Oklahoma-Nebraska matchup through some fantastic still photos.

It’s a rivalry that, at one point in time, was as big as any in college football. Though conference realignment put a damper on the once-great matchup between the Oklahoma Sooners and Nebraska Cornhuskers, the fervor and excitement are still strong.

The two teams, along with several other Big 8 members, joined forces with the Texas Longhorns and a contingent from the old Southwest Conference to form the Big 12. The Sooners and Cornhuskers went from playing annually (from 1921 to 1997) to a rotating schedule as the two teams were placed in different divisions.

The Sooners and Cornhuskers renew a rivalry that dates back to the first matchup, a 12-9 Nebraska win in 1912. From 1919 to 1941, the Cornhuskers held a commanding edge in the rivalry with a record of 15-3-3. Oklahoma’s gone 42-23 since 1943, which happened to be the start of the longest win streak in the series. Overall, Oklahoma holds a 46-38-3 record.

2021 saw the renewal of one of the great rivalries in all of college football with Oklahoma’s 23-16 win over the Cornhuskers. Now, Oklahoma makes its first trip to Lincoln since a 10-3 loss in Bo Pelini’s second season as the Cornhuskers head coach.

Get set for Oklahoma’s return trip to Lincoln as we go Behind Enemy Lines with Cornhuskers Wire to learn more about Nebraska and take a look through these fantastic photos below.

Fab Four: Selecting Oklahoma football’s Mount Rushmore of all-time recruits

On the eve of early signing day, Sooners Wire recalls the most hyped commits in school history.

Oklahoma and football powerhouse are terms that go together in 2020 as much as they did in the 1970s, and it has been the case for far longer.

The Sooners’ history includes seven national championships, 49 conference championships, more than 100 All-Americans and seven Heisman Trophy winners.

But not every player who plans on playing at the University of Oklahoma pans out. The cream rises to the top, and not every Oklahoma great was the great coming out of high school.

The Sooners have welcomed a veritable who’s who of college football, starting with the Bud Wilkinson era in the 1950s and continuing through the tenures of Barry Switzer in the 1970s and 1980s and Bob Stoops in the 2000s and 2010s. Now that history and tradition are in the hands of Lincoln Riley.

However, four recruits separate themselves from the rest. This isn’t about production, awards or overall career—this is about the best recruits Oklahoma has signed.

Sooners Wire has put together the Mount Rushmore of Oklahoma recruits. Two went on to have Hall of Fame football careers while the other two had promising careers that ultimately sputtered and didn’t finish with the Sooners.

Some predate recruiting rankings that started in the early 2000s. The others come after.
