EA Sports shares ‘Madden’ screenshot of Tom Brady in Broncos uniform

Thanks to ‘Madden,’ we now know what Tom Brady would look like in a Broncos uniform.

The new league year and NFL free agency will begin on March 18 and Patriots pending free agent quarterback Tom Brady will be the hottest name to follow this offseason. It’s hard to imagine Brady leaving New England but there has been speculation that the QB could have a new team in 2020.

EA Sports, the creators of the NFL’s popular “Madden” video game, took to Twitter on Thursday to share of GIF of Brady wearing the uniforms of several different teams, including the Broncos.

Here’s what Brady would look like in orange and blue:

Speaking at the NFL combine last month, Denver general manager John Elway indicated that the team would be open to talking with Brady but they are “pretty happy with Drew [Lock].” Elway seems unlikely to bring in a 42-year-old Brady after a 23-year-old Lock went 4-1 last season.

Oddsmakers have given the Broncos 18/1 odds of landing Brady. We wouldn’t advise taking that bet — Brady is unlikely to land in Denver.

Madden simulation with Tom Brady on the Bills (video)

Buffalo Bills QB as Tom Brady in Madden 20.

Tom Brady to the Buffalo Bills? It’s an idea that’s probably among the most far fetched heading into the 2020 offseason.

But the chances that Brady leaves the Patriots seems realistic. He’s going to likely test the free agent market and then touch base back with the Patriots.

But the Pick Six Podcast by CBS Sports decided to have a little fun with the idea of Brady moving on. In an effort to see what’s up with Brady on every NFL team next season… that’s exactly what they did. Put Brady on every single team in the Madden 20 video game series and saw how they fared with Brady.

So that begs the question, how’d he do on the Bills?

Well, we don’t exactly have a number, record-wise. The video only says the Bills do, in fact, make the playoffs with Brady under center. The graphic the Bills, Bucs, Jets, Lions, Rams and Steelers all make the playoffs with Brady, but only shows the Steelers at 9-6-1. It’s unclear if that’s the Bills’ record with Brady, too (watch below to find out what we mean).

But regardless, the Bills make it to the playoffs with him, when somehow, 21 of the 32 teams in the NFL, including the Patriots at 7-9, miss the playoffs with Brady.

Peyton and Eli Manning star in Madden’s Super Bowl prediction commercial

Peyton Manning and his brother Eli helped promote Madden’s prediction for Super Bowl LIV.

Each year, EA Sports releases a Super Bowl winner prediction using its popular Madden NFL video game. This year, Madden recruited former NFL quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Eli Manning to shoot a commercial promoting their prediction.

Peyton gives a tour of the prediction lab and tells viewers that more football fans need to play the “Super Bowl” on Madden to help finalize a prediction. There’s a big gold button used to submit the prediction and Eli’s apparently in charge of protecting it.

“I didn’t really get to play as much as I wanted to this year,” Eli says when Peyton tells him he’s at Madden’s facility to “play.”

Peyton: “So you need to play now.”

Eli: “I’ll think about it.”

Peyton: “I think you should play.”

Eli: “You should play.”

Peyton: “I am playing!”

Eli [shocked]: “You’re playing?”

Peyton: “Ya-yes, wait, what are we talking about here?”

The commercial was undoubtedly filmed before Eli announced his retirement. It probably would have been a little funnier if it had been released before Eli’s announcement but it’s still pretty good.

Madden’s official prediction was released last week: EA Sports has the Chiefs beating the 49ers 35-31 in Super Bowl LIV on Sunday.

Michael Vick passes torch to Lamar Jackson as the fastest QB in “Madden”

With a bump in his speed rating, Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson is now the fastest quarterback in Madden history, surpassing Michael Vick

Throughout Lamar Jackson’s early career, he’s earned non-stop comparisons to Michael Vick. But in Jackson’s second season with the Baltimore Ravens, he’s quickly surpassed Vick in a number of ways, including virtually.

Vick was on the field for Monday night’s win over the Los Angeles Rams, as an official EA Sports ratings adjustor. After seeing Jackson put up 95 rushing yards on just eight carries, it was apparently enough to boost his overall speed rating to 96, beating the adjustor himself.

To help commemorate the occasion, Nike and EA Sports created a pair of cleats for Vick to ceremoniously pass the torch.

With five games remaining, Jackson needs just 164 rushing yards to top Vick’s single-season rushing record for quarterbacks. However, Jackson is on pace to put up 1,274 rushing yards, which would not just beat, but shatter, Vick’s 1,039-yard record.

At the same time, Jackson is currently proving his doubters wrong as a passer as well. He’s tied with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson for the most touchdown passes thrown this season, albeit on 53 fewer attempts for the league’s top TD% rate. Jackson is also tied for the third-highest passer rating thanks in part to his two perfect 158.3 passer rating games this season.

With his rushing prowess and efficient passing this season, Jackson is currently the frontrunner both for the MVP award and in Pro Bowl voting.

With Vick passing the torch to Jackson in multiple ways, it might be time to officially stop comparing the two. Jackson is a far more developed passer and dynamic rusher than even Vick’s best seasons, setting the tone for generations to come.

Watch: Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey reacts to getting a 99 rating in ‘Madden’

Watch McCaffrey and his teammates react to his joining the 99 club.

Realistically, the chances of Christian McCaffrey winning the MVP award this year are not good. Team success is ultimately what determines that more than anything else and the Panthers simply aren’t winning enough games. However, there are still records to break and accolades to earn.

Getting a boost in your ‘Madden’ ratings is always a nice feather in the cap. Watch McCaffrey and his teammates react to his joining the 99 club.
