Highest-rated Browns in Madden video game history

Our guy @joshkeatley16 did the hard work and found the highest-rated Browns in Madden video game history #Browns #Madden

It was recently announced that Myles Garrett was going to be joining the 99 club for the upcoming Madden 23 game and he deserves it, but it had me thinking, what other Cleveland Browns were rated this high?

A couple of things to keep in mind when going through this list. I am only using release ratings. I felt it was only fair to use the ratings that were used during the release of the game as players like Jamir Miller, Tre Johnson, and Courtney Brown didn’t get the benefit of the fancy online mid-season updates.

It is also important to note that even though the Madden game has been released every year since 1988, I only used the ratings from 1999 and sooner. There are a few reasons for this as the first is anything before that year is very hard to find, honestly, Madden 2000 ratings were almost impossible to find online, but the second reason is early game ratings were wild. Players didn’t have an overall, they just had a few traits and they only went up to 15. For reference, Bernie Kosar did not have an overall but did have an 11 in passing range and 12 in passing accuracy.

Also keep in mind that the Madden games are named for the year when the season is complete, so Madden 23 is actually for the 2022 season. The following are the 11 highest-rated Cleveland Browns in Madden video game history, I will only name each player once based on their highest rating, so Joe Thomas despite being rated high for his entire career will only be listed once:

Fun fact before we start, the Browns have never had a quarterback hit the 90 overall range since coming back.

Atlanta Falcons player ratings revealed in ‘Madden NFL 23’

The Atlanta Falcons’ player ratings have been revealed in EA Sports’ Madden NFL 23.

The Atlanta Falcons traded away veteran QB Matt Ryan and let most of their top free agents sign elsewhere during what was a busy offseason for general manager Terry Fontenot and head coach Arthur Smith.

Just as players begin reporting to training camp, video game developer EA Sports released this year’s player ratings for Madden NFL 23, and as you probably guessed, the Falcons aren’t getting much love.

Here’s a look at the team’s complete player ratings in the latest version of the NFL’s top video game franchise.

40 highest-rated Chargers players in ‘Madden 23’

Here are the Los Angeles Chargers’ 40 highest-rated players in this year’s version of the game.

EA Sports’ Madden 23 will officially drop to the general public on Aug 19, but today marked the release of individual overall ratings for every player in the NFL.

Here are the team’s 40 highest-rated Chargers players in this year’s version of the game.

Myles Garrett earns a place in the exclusive Madden 99 Club

Myles Garrett earns a place in the exclusive Madden 99 Club with a 99 overall player rating in Madden NFL 23

Congratulations are in order for Browns defensive end Myles Garrett. “Flash” is the newest member of the Madden 99 Club.

The ratings for the EDGE players in the latest installment of the seminal football video game series from EA Sports, Madden NFL 23, came out on Tuesday morning. Garrett joined the rarefied air of those players earning a 99 overall rating.

Hall of Famer and fellow Madden 99 Club member Bruce Smith presented Garrett with the ceremonial chain and trophy as Garrett worked out.

“It’s about dang time I started out the season as one of the 99 members,” Garrett said with a smile.

The full roster ratings for Madden NFL 23 will be revealed later this week.

Madden implications: How the new Browns players are rated in the game

Madden implications: How the new Browns players are rated in the game

The Cleveland Browns have made a ton of moves and we have spent all week discussing and analyzing the impact of each pickup, but let’s get right down to business and figure out if Cleveland has gotten any better on the Madden front. After looking over the ratings of the new additions, I was slightly disappointed.

Austin Hooper, TE: 89 Overall

Hooper is the most highly touted free agent addition for the Browns and Madden seems to agree as the former Falcons tight end is rated at an 89 overall. To put into context how impressive an 89 is, Njoku is an 80 overall. What really sets Hooper apart is his insane 97 catch rating.

Jack Conklin, OT: 77 Overall

Although Conklin’s 77 rating was surprisingly low, it is still much higher than the right tackle the Browns had in 2019. Chris Hubbard managed only a 69 overall. Conklin has some higher-than-average athletic traits in Madden, but nothing mind-blowing.

Andrew Sendejo, S, 77 Overall

Browns fans are more excited about the Karl Joseph signing and rightfully so due to the age. But Sendejo actually has a higher Madden rating and is a two-point upgrade over the former starting strong safety, Morgan Burnett.

Karl Joseph, S: 76 Overall

Although Joseph is rated lower than Sendejo, he is still rated higher than the former starter, Morgan Burnett. Joseph comes with more speed than both players. Joseph should also be rated higher than this lower score.

Andrew Billings, DT: 76 Overall

At 76 overall, Billings is still worse than holdover Larry Ogunjobi by one point. Based on ratings alone they don’t exactly strike fear into virtual offenses. It should be no surprise that the former power-lifting champion is one of the strongest players in the game.

Andy Janovich, FB: 74 Overall

The fullbacks in Madden are always rated lower so a 74 overall isn’t as bad as it seems. Janovich is athletic enough in the game to be a true weapon out of the backfield.

Kevin Johnson, CB: 72 Overall

Johnson is the exact same rating as former Cleveland contributor, Terrance Mitchell, but Johnson has a bit more speed, which is something all Madden players can appreciate.

Case Keenum, QB: 68 Overall

Despite the strange amount of fanfare behind the signing of a career back-up, Keenum is terrible in Madden. I will say though Keenum moves well for a 30-year-old quarterback.

Donovan Olumba, CB: 60 Overall

Just like in real life, Olumba needs a good amount of luck to make the final roster in Madden. I just hope that we get to see an actual headshot in Madden 21.

Jojo Natson, WR: 60 Overall

Natson like Olumba faces an uphill battle of making this virtual roster, but he is one of the fastest players in the game and should be a fun weapon to use on the virtual gridiron.
