Army at LSU odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Army at LSU odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Army Black Knights (2-4) visit the LSU Tigers (5-2) Saturday. Kickoff from Tiger Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Army vs. LSU odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Army lost 19-0 to the Troy Trojans last Saturday en route to a 3-game losing skid, failing to cover as a 6.5-point home underdog. QB Bryson Daily has completed 42 of his 77 passes for 712 yards, 6 TDs, and 4 INTs while also leading the team in rushing. Daily has totaled 412 rushing yards and 3 TDs on 100 carries. The Black Knights struggle to generate offense through the passing game, generating 143.5 yards per game, while the run game generates 196 YPG.

LSU has won back-to-back games vs. SEC opponents. The most recent of which came Saturday in a 48-18 home win vs. the Auburn Tigers, covering as an 11.5-point favorite. QB Jayden Daniels has completed 152 of his 208 passes for 2294 yards, 22 TDs, and 3 INTs. The Tigers have a very explosive offense that averages 550.4 yards per game, but their defense that allows 423.9 yards per game is vulnerable.

LSU is No. 19 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Army at LSU picks and predictions

Prediction

LSU 31, Army 14

Moneyline

PASS.

LSU will pick up the win here, but a -8000 favorite is never worth the risk of betting on. Bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET ARMY +31.5 (-104).

The Tigers have not beaten an opponent by 30 or more points since their 72-10 Week 2 victory vs. the Grambling Tigers. Similarly, Army has not lost a game by more than 19 points this season. Army does face its toughest test vs. this LSU squad, but LSU’s weakness defensively will help Army keep this one within 31.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 58.5 (-105).

Both LSU and Army struggle defensively, but I don’t expect Army’s offense to generate enough points to help this game hit the Over number of 57.5. LSU’s main defensive weakness lies in the passing game, but Army does not have a good enough passing attack to exploit that weakness. I do expect Daily to have a solid outing, especially on the ground, but I don’t see Army putting up more than 17.

Auburn at LSU odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Auburn at LSU odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Auburn Tigers (3-2, 0-2 SEC) and No. 20 LSU Tigers (4-2, 3-1) meet Saturday at Tiger Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Auburn vs. LSU odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Auburn covered the spread as a 14-point home underdog in a 27-20 loss vs. the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs with the Over (44.5) cashing Sept. 30 before its bye last week. QB Payton Thorne passed for 82 yards with an INT and rushed for another 92 yards.

LSU covered as a 6.5-point favorite with a 49-39 win at the then-No. 22 Missouri Tigers as the Over (63.5) hit last Saturday. QB Jayden Daniels threw for 259 yards with 3 TDs and rushed for 130 yards and a score.

The last time these teams met, Auburn covered as an 8-point home underdog in a 21-17 loss as the Under (44.5) hit Oct. 1, 2022. Auburn has covered in the last 4 head-to-head meetings, going 2-2 straight up.

Auburn at LSU picks and predictions

Prediction

LSU 31, Auburn 24

Moneyline

It’s unlikely that LSU (-400) will lose straight up at home to an unranked opponent. However, -400 is too much to pay in this spot.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or the total instead.

Against the spread

Auburn was impressive last time out, holding top-ranked Georgia to just 27 points. The Tigers prefer to run the ball, and their defense is holding opponents to just 16.3 first downs per game this season — the 15th-fewest in the nation, according to Teamrankings.com. Auburn should slow this one down, and each point on its spread becomes more valuable when the game is lower scoring.

LSU struggled to just get the straight-up win as an 18-point favorite in its last home game, barely beating the Arkansas Razorbacks 34-31 Sept. 23. I’m not convinced that LSU will win by 11 or more vs. this Auburn defense that gave Georgia fits.

BET AUBURN +10.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Under has hit in the last 5 meetings between these teams. This trend should continue since Auburn struggles in the passing game and will look to control the clock.

The Over is 6-0 in LSU games this season, but the line has dropped since Sunday when it was 63.5. This isn’t the best number, but I still LEAN UNDER 60.5 (-115).

LSU at Missouri odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s LSU at Missouri odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 23 LSU Tigers (3-2. 2-1 SEC) take on the No. 22 Missouri Tigers (5-0, 1-0) in Week 6 of the college football season on Saturday at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the LSU vs. Missouri odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

LSU lost 55-49 in a shootout with No. 15 Ole Miss in Week 5, failing to cover as 2.5-point favorites on the road. The Over of 66.5 easily cleared as the Tigers had a 3-game winning streak snapped.

Missouri covered as 14-point road favorites in a 38-21 victory over Vanderbilt while the Over (53) hit. The unbeaten Tigers need 1 win to  match last season’s total.

LSU at Missouri picks and predictions

Prediction

LSU 38, Missouri 34

Moneyline

While LSU is favored on the road, I’ll AVOID wagering here since there’s a chance Missouri can win this game outright at home, so taking LSU at -190 odds isn’t worth the risk.

Against the spread

MISSOURI +4.5 (-110) is the play in this matchup. LSU is giving up 260.2 passing yards per game and its defense has been extremely disappointing this season. Missouri is also 3-2 ATS this season compared to LSU being 2-3 ATS. Once again, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if Missouri wins outright against LSU at home.

Over/Under

With both teams having effective offenses, OVER 64.5 (-110) is how I’d bet on the total. LSU is averaging 44 points per game (7th in the nation) and Missouri is producing 32 points per game (tied for 51st in the nation).

On top of that, LSU is 5-0 to the Over and Missouri is 4-1 to the Over in the first 5 weeks of the season. I’m confident in saying we’ll get a shootout between QB Jayden Daniels and QB Brady Cook.

LSU at Ole Miss odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s LSU at Ole Miss odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No.12 LSU Tigers (3-1, 2-0 SEC) visit the No. 20 Ole Miss Rebels (3-1, 0-1 SEC) Saturday. Kickoff from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is set for 6 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the LSU vs. Ole Miss odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

LSU picked up a 34-31 win last Saturday vs. the Arkansas Razorbacks to stay undefeated in conference play. QB Jayden Daniels was stellar, completing 20 of 29 passes for 320 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT. Daniels led the Tigers on a 9-play, 72-yard drive to put the Tigers in field goal range before K Damian Ramos made the game-winning kick.

Ole Miss suffered its 1st loss on the season Saturday, losing 24-10 vs. the Alabama Crimson Tide. QB Jaxson Dart struggled, completing 20 of 35 passes for 244 yards and 1 INT while also rushing for 6 yards and 1 TD. The Rebels’ rushing attack was non-existent vs. the Crimson Tide as they ran for 56 yards on 29 carries as a team, averaging 1.9 yards per carry.

LSU at Ole Miss picks and predictions

Prediction

LSU 45, Ole Miss 30

Moneyline

BET LSU (-145).

LSU is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings with Ole Miss and went on a 5-game win streak during that stretch. I like Daniels more than I like Dart and I expect Ole Miss’ lack of a run game to prove to be detrimental in this matchup. I expect LSU’s offense which averages 530 yards per game to shred this Ole Miss defense.

Against the spread

LEAN LSU -2.5 (-115).

I expect LSU to come out and be pass-heavy after seeing Ole Miss allow 10.7 yards per pass attempt vs. Alabama. I also believe that the Rebels’ struggles in the run game will continue and will force them to be very pass-reliant, removing the element of surprise and allowing LSU’s defense to really key in on the passing game.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 67.5 (-110).

Both of these teams have very high-powered offenses and very talented quarterbacks. LSU’s lowest scoring game came in its week 1 45-24 loss vs. FSU, but since then the Tigers have not scored fewer than 34 points.

The Rebels averaged 52.6 points per game in their 1st 3 games before struggling offensively vs. Alabama. These teams have gone Over 67.5 twice in their last 4 meetings.

The Arkansas Razorbacks (2-1, 0-0 SEC) travel to face the No. 13 LSU Tigers (2-1, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday at Tiger Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Arkansas vs. LSU odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Razorbacks are coming off a disappointing 38-31 loss as 9-point home favorites against BYU in Week 3. The Over (48) hit as QB KJ Jefferson completed 24 of his 35 attempts for 247 yards, 1 TD and 1 interception.

LSU steamrolled Mississippi State 41-14 in Week 3 to cover the -9.5-point spread on the road as the Over (54) cashed. WR Malik Nabers caught 13 passes for 239 yards and 2 scores against Mississippi State.

Arkansas at LSU picks and predictions

Prediction

LSU 35, Arkansas 24

Moneyline

Just go ahead and AVOID the moneyline in this game unless you’re confident that Arkansas can pull off the upset on the road. LSU should secure the win, but taking the Tigers at nearly -900 odds isn’t worth the risk.

Against the spread

ARKANSAS +17.5 (-110) is how I’d wager on the spread in this SEC matchup. The Razorbacks will be motivated following their loss to BYU, while the Tigers could be looking ahead to their meeting with No. 16 Ole Miss next week.

While LSU could still win by double digits at home, Arkansas is 6-3-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

Over/Under

Both of these teams have experienced QBs and are coming off high-scoring outputs in Week 3, making OVER 55.5 (-105) an intriguing bet. Through 3 weeks, LSU is averaging 32.5 points per game and Arkansas is posting 29.5.

Also, the Razorbacks just allowed BYU to record 38 points, and the Tigers have recorded 113 total points in the last 2 weeks.

After losing its opener in surprising fashion 45-24 to Florida State, LSU  bounced back against Grambling State with a 72-10 victory. QB Jayden Daniels passed for 269 yards and 5 TDs while RB Logan Diggs had 15 carries for 115 yards and a TD and RB Kaleb Jackson had 11 carries for 62 yards and 2 TDs. Expect more of the same this week against the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State beat Southeastern Louisiana 48-7 in the opener and knocked off Arizona 31-24 in overtime last week. QB Will Rogers went 13 of 17 for 162 yards and 3 TDs. RB Jo’quavious Marks had 24 carries for 123 yards and a TD.

LSU at Mississippi State picks and predictions

Prediction

LSU 38, Mississippi State 28

Moneyline

PASS.

While Mississippi State is playing at home, LSU should take this game with ease. But at -375 odds, there is very little profit to be made by backing the Tigers.

Against the spread

LEAN LSU -9.5 (-115).

While the Tigers had a rough start to the season, they had a tune-up game last week against Grambling. Their offense was firing on all cylinders while their defense only allow 10 points. Daniels and company are looking to show why they belong in the Top 10 again and a conference road victory is the 1st step to making that happen.

While the Bulldogs defense forced 5 turnovers last week, they allowed 17 2nd-half points which could prove fatal against the Tiger’s offense. The turnovers will not come as easy this week.

Over/Under

BET OVER 54.5 (-110).

Mississippi State has scored 48 and 31 points respectively in each of its first 2 games while LSU has scored 45 and 72 points. Both teams have showcased they are more than capable of finding the end zone and this game could turn into a shootout real quick. Expect points early and often in this matchup.

Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the  LSU vs. Florida State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Louisiana State went 10-4 a year ago, averaging 34.5 points per game and yielding 22.5. The Tigers lost to these Seminoles 24-23 in a season-opening game that included a blocked extra point with no time remaining. Then LSU  went on to win 9 of its next 10 games and eventually represent the SEC West in that league’s title game.

The No. 8 Seminoles went 10-3 in 2022; they averaged 36.1 PPG while allowing 20.6 PPG. All 3 of Florida State’s losses came in a 3-week stretch from Oct. 1-15 and came against ranked foes; the last 2 were in games decided by 1 score.

FSU is 8-2 across 10 all-time meetings against LSU. The ‘Noles and Tigers first met in 1968.

LSU vs. Florida State picks and predictions

Prediction

LSU 27, Florida State 24

Moneyline

FSU was in control of last year’s game 24-10 at the 5-minute mark. The Tigers got back in the game late after struggling to move the ball early. LSU’s 3 touchdown drives were of 82, 75 and 99 yards; all came in the final 16 minutes.

The Tigers are the lean in a revenge game, even one played in the state of Florida. An LSU -120 play would have enough leverage. But PASS on the current tag.

Against the spread

The 247 Talent Composite gives LSU a significant edge in a roster comparison with the Seminoles. Look for the Tigers to be able to run the ball and be adequate in slowing the FSU ground game.

The 2022 ‘Noles would sometimes be too dependent on 3rd-down success; that could well bite them in this battle.

Peg the Bayou Bengals as being the more battle-tested in this matchup.

BACK LSU -2.5 (-105).

Over/Under

Figure this contest leaning toward some run-game clock compression. But the total has dropped a couple points during the week; it hopped under a couple mid-level key numbers (58, 57) in the process.

STEER CLEAR.

SEC Tournament: LSU vs. Vanderbilt odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s LSU vs. Vanderbilt odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The LSU Tigers (14-18) and the Vanderbilt Commodores (18-13) meet Thursday in the 2nd round of the SEC Tournament. Tip-off from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville is set for 8 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the LSU vs. Vanderbilt odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

The 14th-seeded Tigers took down the 11th-seeded Georgia Bulldogs 72-67 Wednesday in the 1st round, covering as 3-point favorites despite being the lower seed. Vanderbilt is coming off a 1st-round bye.

LSU beat Vanderbilt in their only meeting of the season 84-77 on Feb. 22 as 2.5-point underdogs. That win was 1 of only 2 conference wins by the Tigers on the season.

Vanderbilt has a 17-14 ATS record and is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. LSU has a 11-20-1 ATS record and is 4-6 ATS over their last 10 games.

LSU vs. Vanderbilt picks and predictions

Prediction

Vanderbilt 75, LSU 70

Moneyline

AVOID.

Vanderbilt should be able to win this game despite suffering a loss to the Tigers earlier in the season. LSU was terrible in conference games this year and there is no reason to believe that will change in this game. The risk in this bet is not quite worth the reward so I would still avoid.

Against the spread

BET VANDERBILT -4.5 (-110).

The Commodores are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 neutral site games and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. They are also 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a win and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 following an ATS win.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 142.5 (-105).

The Over for the Tigers is 5-1 in their last 6 overall and 13-3 in their last 16 vs. a team with a straight up winning record. The Under for LSU is 4-0 in their last 4 neutral site games but with this being in Nashville it is basically a home game for the Commodores.
