The 5-star Texas native spent a season at Ohio State before transferring. He was eventually named the starting quarterback by coach Steve Sarkisian.
Louisiana Monroe was 4-8 last season, coach Terry Bowden’s first year with the Warhawks. It was actually an improvement from their winless 0-10 record during the 2020 season. Their goal is obviously to be competitive in the Sun Belt Conference, but they’ll play more of a sacrificial lamb in this opener.

Ewers, WR Xavier Worthy and RB Bijan Robinson will all have monster games for the Longhorns. Although they could all be resting and sitting on the bench come halftime. With Alabama on the docket next week, Sarkisian might want them to get a bit more playing time than normal in a blowout. So, this could get even uglier than expected.

OVER 63.5 (-115) is a SOLID PLAY..
UL-Monroe will score late, but Texas will score early and often. With Texas likely to get to 50, all Louisiana-Monroe needs to do is get to 14 … and they will in garbage time.
