76 days until Browns season opener: Every player to wear 76 for Cleveland

Only 76 more days before the Browns play regular season football

Training game is just a few weeks away and for the 2023 season for the Cleveland Browns, only 76 days remain until they play regular season football. The team has lofty expectations after aggressively adding talent at premium positions for a playoff run. The key will be if Deshaun Watson returns to form or else this team won’t go very far.

Jim Schwartz has all the tools he needs to make a complimentary defense for the team’s offense that has plenty of weapons. In the team’s history, there haven’t been many players to wear the number 76 which of course is a retired number for Cleveland.

However, in college football, there have been a slew of really cool nicknames we still refer to today when talking about some of the best players to ever strap on the headgear and pads. The best ones aren’t forced and come about organically.

Thomas Neumann at Touchdown Wire went through what seems like a pretty extensive task of publishing a list of the greatest 101 names in football history. There are some pretty iconic ones on there like “The Minister of Defense,” “The Refrigerator” and many more.

For us though, we were interested to see which former Ohio State players made the list, and we’re happy to report that four have been enshrined with a glorious nickname. Can you guess the four that made it? I mean, this is the content we bring you in the offseason that you didn’t even know you yearned for.
