Titans CB Logan Ryan misses Wednesday practice, WR Adam Humphries returns

Here’s a look at the complete injury report for both teams.

Just one game now stands between the Tennessee Titans and a Super Bowl appearance in 2020.

The Titans hit the practice field on Wednesday in anticipation of this week’s AFC Championship matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, and were mostly healthy, missing just one player.

Cornerback Logan Ryan (illness) was not present in the day’s practice.

Linebackers Jayon Brown (shoulder), David Long (knee) and Rashaan Evans (foot), along with wide receiver Adam Humphries (ankle) and cornerback Adoree Jackson (foot) all practiced in limited capacity.

Eagles LT Jason Peters listed among the 50 best available 2020 NFL free agents

Jason Peters is the No. 41 best available free agent according to Pro Football Focus

Jason Peters wants to continue his NFL career and if you evaluate him based on analytics and a proper grading system, he’ll likely have a list of suitors when free agency begins.

Pro Football Focus recently put out their initial list of the top-50 NFL free agents for the 2020 offseason, and the Eagles left tackle landed on the list at No. 41.

41. LT JASON PETERS
Somehow Jason Peters is still plying his trade at an extremely high level despite approaching 38 years of age. That age obviously makes Peters a short-term option for prospective teams, and Peters also comes with a significant injury history and the prospect that he might not last 16 games in any given season. But he is still an impressive figure when he is on the field, and he ended the 2019 season with an overall PFF grade of 82.8 after allowing 25 total pressures on the season. Peters won’t be receiving many multi-year offers, but he could provide a very useful short-term fix for a team struggling to find answers on the offensive line.

Peter is still talented enough to play in the NFL on a year to year basis, but it’ll be interesting to see if the Eagles allow the future Hall of Famer to walk in free agency.

Howie Roseman made it clear during his end of the season press conference, that the Eagles were interested in getting younger. With 2019 first-round pick Andre Dillard waiting in the wings, the Eagles will have to decide on bring Peters back for another year, moving Peters to a different position or allowing him to play for another franchise.

Titans-Ravens: looking into defensive snap counts

Here’s a complete look at the team’s defensive snap counts.

Not many expected the Tennessee Titans to come into M&T Bank Stadium and leave with a 28-12 victory over the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens — but that’s exactly what happened on Saturday night.

The Titans recorded strong performances on both sides of the ball, and now have just one contest standing between them and the Super Bowl.

On the win, free safety Kevin Byard, cornerback Logan Ryan and safety Kenny Vaccaro were in for all 97 defensive snaps, with linebacker Harold Landry seeing action on all but two snaps.

Safety Amani Hooker (81%), linebacker Daren Bates (81%), cornerback Joshua Kalu (76%) and strong safety Dane Cruikshank (76%) were highly active on special teams.

Logan Ryan claps back at Kyle Van Noy over ‘revenge tour’ comments

“Kyle Van Noy’s running his mouth and giving us bulletin board material about his revenge tour.”

Kyle Van Noy probably should have known better.

The New England Patriots linebacker has clung to opponents’ quotes which he finds offensive. He seems to draw motivation from these affronts. But when he declared the Patriots’ playoff run a “revenge tour,” he provided the Tennessee Titans with the same fuel Van Noy seems to cherish.

At least, former Patriots and current Titans cornerback Logan Ryan insinuated as much after his team’s 20-13 win over New England. Ryan managed the game-sealing pick-six with 47 seconds left.

“My guy Kyle Van Noy calling it a revenge tour. Just play ball, Kyle,” Ryan told reporters after the game. “I’m sure you’re going to see this, but he’s one of the hyenas and he’s on a revenge tour and why not start with the Titans? Tom Brady doesn’t do that, Julian Edelman doesn’t do that, Devin McCourty, (Stephon Gilmore) don’t do that.

“Kyle Van Noy’s running his mouth and giving us bulletin board material about his revenge tour. His revenge tour ended early… Van Noy’s been tripping, and so his revenge tour ended early. Hope he enjoys it.”

Before the game, Van Noy reasoned that Tennessee was a team which New England lost to last year. Hence, the revenge tour.

Extrapolating that idea: if the Patriots won Saturday, they’d face the Kansas City Chiefs, who New England lost to in 2019. Perhaps a win in Kansas City would grant them a second shot at the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC title game. The Ravens also beat New England this year. It would’ve been a nice story.

Would’ve. Could’ve. Should’ve.

Ryan did, indeed, bring a halt to Van Noy’s revenge tour. While Van Noy played well, with five tackles, a quarterback pressure (which helped force a Ryan Tannehill interception) and forced fumble (which Tannehill recovered to retain the ball), his efforts weren’t enough for New England to get a win.

WATCH: Will Tom Brady’s final pass in his glorious Patriot career be a Pick-Six?

The Patriots have been eliminated and Tom Brady’s last pass in the Wild-Card game was a Pick-Six for the Titans.

The Patriots are out. The big question going forward is Tom Brady done in New England.

If the Patriots’ 20-13 loss at Gillette Saturday was the end of an era for the Patriots’ quarterback, it went out with a thud.

The Titans closed out New England’s hopes with a brilliant punt by Brett Kern that pinned the Pats at their one.

Then, what could possibly be the final Patriots’ pass in Brady’s career was intercepted for a Pick-Six by former New England DB Logan Ryan.

This marked the first time in the NFL Brady has thrown Pick-Sixes in back-to-back games.

Now, let the speculation erupt over whether the free-agent-to-be will return to the Pats for the 2020 season.

Observations from Titans’ 31-17 win over Colts

Here are a few quick observations we made throughout the contest.

The Tennessee Titans (7-5) are a very different team than when they last faced the Indianapolis Colts (6-6) and fell 19-17 in Nissan Stadium.

That showed when they hit the Colts’ turf on Sunday and recorded a 31-17 victory in Lucas Oil Stadium. With the victory, the Titans now sit on a three-game winning streak.

Here are a few quick observations we made throughout the contest.

– The Titans got the ball first, allowing quarterback Ryan Tannehill and the offense to go to work.

[lawrence-related id=23066]

– Feeding Derrick Henry has been key, and the Titans gave him the ball first. Henry fumbled the ball after a big run.

– Indianapolis had the Tennessee secondary on its toes, and quarterback Jacoby Brissett took advantage of the confusion it deliver a touchdown pass to tight end Jack Doyle to send the Colts up, 7-0 early on.

– Tannehill looked accurate and efficient on the following drive, connecting with A.J. Brown and later with wideout Adam Humphries to tie the game at 7-7.

– The Titans used Ryan Succop for an extra-point attempt and Ryan Santoso on the following kickoff. Santoso’s kickoff resulted in a touchback.

[lawrence-related id=23061]

– Adam Vinatieri missed a 55-yard field goal and the game stayed tied.

– Tannehill tried to escape pressure as the Titans got the ball back, but fumbled instead to commit the second turnover of the game.

– Cornerback Adoree Jackson was shaken up and missed a few plays, but came up with a tackle for loss when he made his return.

– Vinatieri tried another long field goal, but the attempt was blocked by Austin Johnson. It was a strong series for Johnson, who had a tackle for loss on the previous loss.

[lawrence-related id=23051]

– Tannehill was sacked on the following drive before the Titans were left punting.

– The colts really got rolling on their following drive, but the Titans defense managed to hold them to a field goal. Vinatieri was good from 38 yards out to give the Colts a 10-7 lead in the second quarter.

– The Titans saw much more of the same on the following drive, which ended in a sack on Tannehill and had the team punting again.

– Tannehill was sacked five times in the first half, including two times on the team’s last drive of the second quarter.

[lawrence-related id=23042]

– The Colts were on the move early in the third quarter, and started the half strong with a touchdown. Nyheim Himes took it in on the one-yarder. It was 17-7, Indianapolis as Tennessee started to fall behind.

– The Titans answered back on what was a huge drive for Henry, as the former Alabama rusher took it in for a score. The Titans trailed just 17-14.

– Complementary football is something the Titans stress, and the defense matched the efforts of the offense when Brissett got back to the field and was intercepted by safety Kevin Byard.

– A 31-yard field goal by Ryan Succop tied the game, and the defense forced a three-and-out on the Colts’ next possession.

[lawrence-related id=23003]

– Safety Dane Cruikshank blocked a Colts field goal attempt, and cornerback Tye Smith ran it in for a touchdown to make it 24-17, Titans.

– The Titans continued to turn the tide, with cornerback Logan Ryan picking up an interception. Tannehill connected with wideout Kalif Raymond with just over three minutes left to play.

– Smith forced a fumble, and the Titans got the ball back at the bottom of the fourth quarter to finish out the contest.

– Tannehill was sacked a total of six times on the win.

6 Titans the Colts must game plan for in Week 13

These Titans must be in the game plan in Week 13.

The Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts both sit at 6-5 ahead of a highly-anticipated AFC South matchup Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. This a must-win for both teams as they try to keep pace with Houston for the division and the tight race for the AFC wild card as well.

If the Colts want to get back on track after a long week, here are six Titans the Colts must game plan for in the Week 13 divisional matchup.

(Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports)

QB Ryan Tannehill

After winning four of their last five, Tannehill seems to be the short-term solution in Tennessee. Getting after him and forcing him to make rushed throws will be key for the Colts in this one. With the ability to spread the ball to a variety of receivers, shutting down Tannehill will be vital to a victory.

The Colts must also be aware of Tannehill’s ability as a runner, which is an underrated aspect of his game.

RB Derrick Henry

November-Henry is a real thing. The fourth-year back has been criticized throughout his career for being inconsistent on a week to week basis but in the month of November, Henry has been very productive during his time in Tennessee.

The Colts will have to shut down Henry in order to throw the entire offense off track in this one. When the Titans get the run game going, their offense becomes a lot more threatening.

WR A.J. Brown

The rookie receiver has been a great addition to this offense. With the size to go over the top of defenders and the speed to create separation, Brown has emerged as one of the best young receivers in the game.

Look for Pierre Desir to matchup against Brown on Sunday, mostly because of a size comparison. Don’t be surprised if Malik Hooker or Marvel Tell matchup against Brown as well.

(Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports)

LB Rashaan Evans

Leading the team in tackles with 85 on the year, Evans is one of the better linebackers in all of football. His run stopping ability is incredible and his speed makes it easy for him to cover tight ends as well. With Eric Ebron being placed on IR on Monday, Jack Doyle and others will have to find success after a lackluster performance in Houston.

CB Logan Ryan

Ryan has been dominant throughout his entire career, filling up a stat sheet week to week. His line on the year is 78 total tackles, three interceptions, three forced fumbles, 16 passes defended and 3.5 sacks. Ryan will most likely be on T.Y. Hilton all game as Hilton tries to bounce back after a pitiful performance against Houston.

LB Harold Landry III

The other linebacker in the Titans talented duo is Landry. Where Evans is more utilized in the passing game, Landry is moved all around the field and is a talented pass rusher. With eight sacks on the season, it will be crucial for the Colts to stop Landry blitzing up the middle in order to give Brissett time in the pocket.

Five standouts from Titans’ 35-32 win over Chiefs

Here’s a look at five of those names.

The Tennessee Titans (5-5) evened out their record and put on one of the most thrilling performances in Week 10 as they defeated the visiting Kansas City Chiefs, 35-32 in Nissan Stadium on Sunday.

It was a competitive game filled with big plays on both sides, and several players stood out.

Here’s a look at five of those names.

1. QB Ryan Tannehill.

Tannehill continues to be efficient with the reins of the offense in his hands, and was a crucial part of guiding the Titans to the win. He was 13-of-19 passing for 181 yards and two touchdowns. He also had three rushes for 37 yards.

Titans-Chiefs: a look at defensive snap counts

Here’s a complete look at the defensive snap counts.

The Tennessee Titans (5-5) came into Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs (6-4) looking to get back to .500, and did exactly that as they pulled off a 35-32 win on their own turf.

Safeties Kevin Byard and Kenny Vaccaro along with cornerbacks Adoree Jackson and Logan Ryan played every snap of the game (82).

In special teams percentages, safeties Amani Hooker and Dane Cruikshank, in addition to linebacker Daren Bates all had 88%.

Here’s a complete look at the defensive snap counts.

The Titans will face the Jacksonville Jaguars next on Nov. 24 and 3:05 p.m. CT in Nissan Stadium.
