The Cardinals have new home reds, road whites and alternate blacks. Which do you like best?

The Arizona Cardinals revealed new uniforms on Thursday night, 18 years from the day they announced the uniforms they had previously worn.

They will use white jerseys and pants on the road with their traditional white helmet.

They will use red jerseys and pants at home with the white helmet.

They will use a new alternate black jersey and pants with the alternate black helmet they debuted in 2022.

Brice Sensabaugh reportedly receiving positive feedback from the NBA

According to the Columbus Dispatch, things are sounding positive from the NBA types for Brice Sensabaugh. #GoBucks

With the latest dip into the transfer portal for the Ohio State basketball team, the roster is almost set for this season. Well, aside from one thing — the future of Brice Sensabaugh, who is testing the NBA waters after a sensational freshman campaign.

It has been a little quiet since the 6-foot, 6-inch forward out of Orlando, Florida, entered his name into the NBA fray, so we’re all just playing the waiting game it seems.

However, some news circulated thanks to our friends over at the Columbus Dispatch. Adam Jardy caught up with Sensabaugh at The Foundation‘s Spring Festival at Value City Arena. And while Sensabaugh is still weighing his decision, it appears as though he’s received some fairly favorable feedback from NBA types.

In fact, he’s been hearing he’s a back-half of the first-round selection.

“That’s what I’m hearing, yeah,” Sensabaugh told The Dispatch on Thursday night. “I think it’s going to be tough (to decide), but at the end of the day, I think I’ll have that gut feeling. I’ve gotten some good feedback so far. Just keep riding that out and keep working and see where it takes me.”

[affiliatewidget_smgtolocal]

Though we’re not quite ready to dive head first into the deep end of the speculation pool, and Sensabaugh is saying he’s not yet made up his mind, you’d have to think that passing up the game’s highest level after knowing you’ll likely be a first-rounder is going to be tough to pass up.

In the interim, according to the report from the Dispatch, there’s really no immediate timetable for a decision from Sensabaugh. He’s going to head to L.A. to work out until the NBA draft combine that’s set to take place on May 16. From there, he’ll likely have a pro day at OSU and have a couple of weeks before he has to make a decision. The deadline to withdraw from the NBA draft process is June 1.

Either way, Sensabaugh has relished his time in Columbus as Buckeye despite the underwhelming and disappointing season the team experienced last year.

“The Ohio State brand has done so much for me this year,” Sensabaugh told the Dispatch. “I’m so incredibly grateful for everybody, from the top of the staff to the bottom. Anybody who’s ever helped me in this program is much appreciated by me. I’m super proud to have played as a Buckeye and worn it on my chest.

“Wherever I go or wherever the future holds for me, I’m always grateful and I think I learned some important stuff this year and I matured. It was cool.”

In other words … more to come Ohio State hoops fans.

Cardinals do not trade back in new 3-round mock draft

Draft Wire’s latest mock draft doesn’t have any trades for the Cardinals.

The NFL draft is just a week away and we have a new three-round mock draft from Draft Wire’s Curt Popejoy.

While most believe the Arizona Cardinals will ultimately trade the third overall pick in the draft, these projections do not have that happening.

Instead, in four picks in the first three rounds, they are projected to take three defensive players.

WATCH: ‘With the Next Pick’ 2023 draft Episode 1

Episode 1 of ‘With the Next Pick’ is live.

The Indianapolis Colts are one week away from the 2023 NFL draft, and they released the first episode of the hit series “With the Next Pick” on Thursday.

While years past has seen this series break down over the course of a handful of a few episodes, the 2023 edition is doing so across two episodes.

In Episode 1, we got a look at the process that the area scouts go through following the NFL combine on their journeys across the country for pro days. The highlighted schools included Ohio State, Alabama, Kentucky and Florida, which are the schools of the Big 4 prospects at quarterback.

[affiliatewidget_smgtolocal]

While we heard from general manager Chris Ballard and assistant general manager Ed Dodds, the perspectives mostly came from area scouts Mike Lacy and Jamie Moore, along with chief personnel executive Morocco Brown.

Here’s a look at Episode 1 of “With the Next Pick” ahead of the 2023 draft:

Jonathan Taylor: Contract negotiations won’t be a distraction

Jonathan Taylor’s contract is coming up.

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is the next star rusher in line to receive a heft contract extension, but he isn’t letting the impending deal become a distraction.

Despite an injury-marred 2022 season, Taylor still went over 1,000 total yards in parts of 11 games. That was in the season after becoming the youngest running back in NFL history to record 1,800 rushing yards in a single campaign.

[affiliatewidget_smgtolocal]

Taylor’s rookie deal is set to expire following the 2023 season, but his focus is elsewhere.

It will be interesting to see where Taylor’s deal eventually falls. Though there is a concern about the value of a running back on his second contract, we’ve seen the elite tier of players make good on those deals.

We likely won’t see another contract like Ezekiel Elliott’s six-year, $90 million deal, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if Taylor received a deal in the ballpark of four years and $60 million. What matters in the end is the guaranteed money.

Doing this kind of deal certainly is easier when a team is working with a quarterback on a rookie contract. That type of flexibility should allow the Colts to offer Taylor a sizeable contract while understanding the volatility of the position once running backs reach their age-27 seasons.

We’ll see what the rest of the offseason has in store for Taylor’s contract negotiations, and it will be something to keep an eye on after the draft concludes next week.

Romo shrugs off criticism, says Cowboys QBs ‘can deal with anything’

From @ToddBrock24f7 | Romo heard plenty of criticism about his job performance as Cowboys QB. Now as a broadcaster, he’s shrugging it off once again.

He came on the scene like a bolt from the blue. He provided a breath of fresh air with his charm and his infectious personality, his affable aw-shucks attitude and his obvious passion for the game that he wore loudly and proudly on his sleeve, no matter the score.

And then the act wore thin for many, who took delight in ripping apart his performances and claiming he was never that good to begin with.

That’s the story of Tony Romo’s pro football career.

More recently, though, it’s also the story of his TV broadcast career.

And Romo has now summarily shrugged off the media critics the same way he ignored the haters for all those years when he was wearing the Cowboys star.

“That stuff doesn’t affect me,” Romo said Thursday per Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. “Really, once you play quarterback for the Cowboys, you can deal with anything.”

[affiliatewidget_smgtolocal]

The lead NFL color commentator for CBS Sports came under considerable fire after the postseason from fans and industry types alike who complained about Romo’s on-air ramblings, suggested a lack of pre-game preparation, and suggested his chemistry with play-by-play partner Jim Nantz had taken a dive.

There were even reports that CBS Sports had staged “an intervention” with Romo in an attempt to steer him back to being the voice in the booth that had made him a hit with fans when he first took the job in 2017.

Nantz spoke out recently in defense of Romo, calling the criticisms “cheap shots” that were “very disappointing.” He gave kudos to Romo’s excitable style, calling it “fun” and adding that “when somebody starts questioning our chemistry, there’s an agenda there.”

For the 42-year-old Romo, the backlash he’s gotten is no real surprise.

“I think that’s normal,” he said Thursday from the second annual Invited Celebrity Classic held at the Las Colinas Country Club. “I think that happens to anybody. Anytime you’re doing something well, I think there’s always going to be that. It’s just the arc type of someone’s career. It’s happened to me a few times before and that’s a good thing.”

CBS called reports of an intervention with Romo “a complete mischaracterization,” and Nantz claimed, “I love the guy… I have never had better chemistry with anybody in my career than Tony.”

If Romo is going to change how he goes about his business, he’s not saying so.

“You’ve got to remember there’s always someone’s opinion there,” he said, “but a hundred other people that come up to you and tell you they love you. You’re not going to please everyone. I do think at the end of the day, there’s a lot more people that really appreciate what we do, and I think CBS does a great job with their broadcast team.”

At least outwardly, Romo appears content to simply keep being himself when he’s on the job… just as he did as quarterback of America’s Team.

Lions GM Brad Holmes explains the Jeff Okudah trade dynamics

Lions GM Brad Holmes explained the timing and factors into trading CB Jeff Okudah to the Falcons

Not every question in Lions GM Brad Holmes’ pre-draft press conference dealt with the upcoming NFL draft. It was also the first time since the team traded away cornerback Jeff Okudah that Holmes has been available to talk on the record about the move.

The Lions traded Okudah, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, to the Atlanta Falcons for a fifth-round pick (No. 159 overall). It was an underwhelming ending to a once-promising Lions career for Okudah, who struggled with injuries and inconsistent play in his three years in Detroit.

“Yeah, I just think it was the right time,” Holmes said plainly. “It was just the right time and I think it was good for Jeff. I had a good talk with him after it was done, and he totally understood it as well. It was great. I really respect what Jeff did. We kind of put him in some adverse moments in training camp last year, and like I told you guys I really respected how he battled and didn’t bat an eye and won the starting job. We had the conversation of, ‘OK, if this didn’t happen now, is there a chance that it could happen a little bit later?’

[affiliatewidget_smgtolocal]

Holmes continued,

“I just think it was good for Jeff. I’ve got a lot of respect for (Falcons General Manager) Terry (Fontenot) out there in Atlanta. It was a really smooth, efficient process. It kind of just came up. Again, like I was telling you guys about the (Vikings TE T.J.) Hockenson trade, I wasn’t making a ton of calls and I wasn’t actively shopping or anything like that. You get the call and sometimes it just lines up, and it makes sense for all parties, and it just did.”

Holmes has always been straightforward in his dealings with other teams, and it appears that was indeed the case with the Okudah trade to Atlanta, too.

Jordan Lockhart recaps Vols’ visit, will return to Tennessee

2024 linebacker Jordan Lockhart recaps his visit to Tennessee for the Orange & White Game.

Four-star linebacker Jordan Lockhart unofficially visited Tennessee on April 15 for the Orange & White Game.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound linebacker is from St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California.

Lockhart discussed visiting Tennessee and updated his recruitment with Vols Wire.

[affiliatewidget_smgtolocal]

“The biggest takeaway was the staff,” Lockhart said. “They were very down to earth and you can tell they love their job. The Tennessee fan base really treats their recruits well.”

Lockhart is forming a close bond with Tennessee linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary.

“I had a chance to spend time with linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary,” Lockhart said. “He’s a really cool guy and he’s planning on coming out west to see us in action in the spring.”

The 2024 prospect has the Vols as a top-six school after the Orange & White Game and is planning to officially visit Tennessee during the summer.

Lockhart is the No. 450 overall prospect in the class of 2024. He ranks as the No. 47 linebacker and No. 34 player in California, according to the On3 Sports industry rankings.

After playing multiple positions for St. John Bosco, including inside linebacker and edge rusher, Lockhart discussed his plans in 2023 and in college.

“I’m going to play inside linebacker,” Lockhart said. “I have the skill set to play many different looks, but my primary position going into college will be inside linebacker. I will be playing more of that position for my senior year.”

Lockhart plans to make his commitment decision after taking official visits this summer. He decommitted from Ole Miss on March 5.
