All 30 MLB stadiums, ranked: 2023 edition

Here are the best places to watch a baseball game.

Editor’s note: This story was originally published in March 2023.

It’s that time of the year again.

March Madness is winding down, and Major League Baseball is back in our lives.

For the first time in what feels like forever, MLB will have a full season that starts on time, and we’re so happy about that. While we’re in for a few rule changes this season, you won’t see any new stadiums opening in MLB this year. However, several teams did make some upgrades to existing stadiums, and it was enough to shake up our stadium rankings for 2023.

Using the same — yes, subjective — criteria of general atmosphere, design, location, amenities, food and character that we used in past seasons, we’ve arrived at an updated rankings of MLB ballparks to get ready for the 2023 baseball season.

Brandon Dorlus among top returning pass rushers for the 2023 season

Brandon Dorlus surprised a lot of Duck fans when announcing his return for the 2023 season. He now stands among the nation’s best-returning defenders.

When Brandon Dorlus announced he would return to Eugene to play his senior season, a sigh of relief from the football offices could be heard from around the state.

Some defenders struggled in 2022 to fit into the new defense head coach Dan Lanning and defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi installed, but Dorlus was not among them.

Quite the opposite.

Dorlus had his best season as a Duck in 2022 as he set a career-high for tackles (39) and sacks (2.5). While the numbers themselves don’t exactly jump off the stat sheet, opposing offensive linemen usually had to double-team Dorlus and that freed up another defender(s) to rush the quarterback.

The analytical website PFF.com (Pro Football Focus) recognized Dorlus as one of the top 10 pass rushers that will return for the 2023 college football season. He is one of four Pac-12 players so recognized.

So the conference will indeed feature some elite quarterbacks next season, but those signal callers will need to have their heads on a swivel to look out for some great pass rushers, including Dorlus.

5 Washington State Cougars the Ducks need to watch out for

Washington State has a few players Oregon needs to pay close attention to if the Ducks want a win in Pullman.

The Pac-12 season begins for the Oregon Ducks football team this weekend with a trip up to Pullman to face Washington State. This particular road game isn’t usually an easy one and even before the season started, fans knew this was going to be a tough one.

But now the Cougars are 3-0, including a win at No. 19 Wisconsin. They’re a good team and the Ducks are going to have their hands full in the Palouse.

What’s different about this Washington State team is that in they have a really good defense. The Cougars have always been well known for their offense, but it’s been flipped. Players such as defensive end Ron Stone anchors a defense that held a ranked Wisconsin team to just 14 points.

Although the offense isn’t as explosive as it one was, quarterback Cameron Ward transferred to WSU from Incarnate Word and the higher level of competition hasn’t affected him as all.
