Ziggy Ansah, Jadeveon Clowney both game-day decisions for Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks defensive ends Ziggy Ansah and Jadeveon Clowney will both be game-day Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Seattle Seahawks had a solid week of practice ahead of the Sunday night matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

“We got out on the grass and got running around,” coach Pete Carroll said Friday afternoon. “We had to put together a week that’s a little adapted because of the shorter week. It seemed like things worked out fine. We were able to get some guys recovered. That’s one of the big questions and I think we got that done. Looking forward to it. Ready to go.”

A couple of players remains question marks for Sunday, however, including defensive ends Ziggy Ansah and Jadeveon Clowney, who are both battling injuries.

“We’ll still check those guys both out,” Carroll said. “They did practice enough this week that we feel good about it. We got to check them out on gameday.”

Clowney (core) was listed as a full participant in Friday’s practice, while Ansah (neck) was limited.

The Seahawks and Rams are set to kick off from Los Angeles Sunday night at 5:20 p.m. PT. You can find everything you need to know to catch the action here.

Seahawks DE Ziggy Ansah limited to start week with shoulder stinger

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Ziggy Ansah began the work week limited in practice after suffering a shoulder stinger against the Vikings.

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Ziggy Ansah suffered a minor setback Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings. He was limited to start the practice week on Wednesday.

“He had a stinger in the game,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters. “Just got to make sure he’s okay.”

While the stinger impacts the same shoulder Ansah had operated on over the offseason, Carroll can’t be certain if there’s a correlation with the new injury.

Coming off a Monday night game, the Seahawks had a light practice on Wednesday consisting of only a walkthrough. While the participation report was estimated as though a full practice had taken place, it was at least encouraging Ansah was able to take the field.

“He looks like he’s doing okay so far,” Carroll said. “We won’t know for a couple days if he’s clear and all that.”

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was also listed as limited on Wednesday but is expected to play Week 14.

Ansah, Clowney and the rest of the Seahawks have a few more days to recover before heading down to Los Angeles to face the Rams Sunday night.

Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett still not 100% after leg injury

After bruising his lower leg Week 10 in San Franciso, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett is on the mend for Monday night.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett participated in the team’s Week 12 outing against the Philadelphia Eagles although he wasn’t fully recovered from the leg bruise he sustained in San Francisco two weeks before.

Lockett was injured late in the fourth quarter against the 49ers and remained in The Bay area for a couple of days while he received treatment on his leg.

Coach Pete Carroll is hoping he’ll be up to speed by this Monday night against the Vikings.

“Yeah, he feels really good now,” Carroll said Wednesday. “It maybe wasn’t 100%, even though he could run and play and all that. He just feels better now. I think it’s going to take all the way to Monday to really kind of put it in the rearview mirror, but he’s in good shape.

“He looked really good today.”

Lockett, the Seahawks and the Vikings had Thursday off for Thanksgiving but resume practice on Friday.
