Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett day-to-day for Week 18 with leg injury

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett is day-to-day for Week 18 practices after suffering a leg injury against the New York Jets.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett survived a fractured hand and subsequent surgery to only miss one game, but now, it’s a new injury that could potentially keep him off of the field this week against the Los Angeles Rams.

Lockett suffered a leg contusion on Sunday in the Seahawks’ win over the Jets and struggled to return to the action. He was listed on the first practice report of the week with a shin injury.

“He’s still sore, we’re going to hold him out today,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Wednesday. “He won’t be able to go today. It’ll be a day-to-day thing for him as far as practice, but I know he’s determined to play.”

A seasoned veteran, clearly Lockett doesn’t need the practice time before facing off against the Rams and we should know his gameday status by Friday afternoon.

Tua Tagovailoa suffers first NFL loss, what went wrong?

Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffers his first loss as a starting NFL QB. In a terrible game that led to him being benched …

Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins have been handed their first loss in the last six weeks after losing to the Denver Broncos (4-6) on the road with a final score of 20-13.

In start No. 4 for Tagovailoa, expectations were high, especially against a team with a losing record. With an undefeated resumé as the starter, the former member of the Crimson Tide is no longer perfect.

The Broncos defensive front obliterated the Dolphins’ offensive line and got to Tagovailoa far too many times. He was sacked six times for a total of 33 yards and hit eight times.

In addition to the heavy pressure put on by Denver, it appeared as if Tagovailoa held onto the ball too long, not rolling out looking to extend the play.

He tallied 11 completions off of 20 attempts for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Only throwing for 83 yards makes this game the one with the fewest passing yards in his four starts.

Unsure if it was due to an apparent leg injury due to an awkward tackle in the fourth quarter, or because of his poor performance, Tagovailoa was sidelined for the remainder of the game. The veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick entered the game and tried to give Alabama life on what would have been a 99-yard drive down the field with roughly five minutes remaining to tie the game at 20.

Fitzpatrick’s attempt was killed in the endzone on an interception that, if completed, would have been a touchdown to DeVante Parker.

It’s likely we will see Tagovailoa back as the starting quarterback next week as the Dolphins take on the New York Jets on the road.

While the overall performance of the Dolphins was poor, Tagovailoa needs to be the leader of the team and carry them out of a slump, no matter how big.

Some things will need to be addressed with the 2018 Heisman finalist over the next week. Not being as comfortable in the pocket, getting rid of the ball faster and decision making will be some of the items that ought to be addressed, seeing as these were some of the biggest issues he faced in today’s loss.

Roll Tide Wire will keep you updated on Tua Tagovailoa as he looks to bounce back next week.

REPORT: Jedrick Wills active for Browns after Week 1 leg injury

Former Alabama offensive tackle Jedrick Wills was questionable to return in the Browns’ Week 1 matchup against Baltimore after a leg injury.

Former Alabama Crimson tide offensive tackle Jedrick Wills has taken on a big role for the Cleveland Browns, the blind-side blocker for former Heisman Award winner baker Mayfield. After leaving the team’s Week 1 contest early due to a leg injury, Wills is active for their primetime matchup in Week 2 vs. the Cincinnati Bengals.

The news of Wills being active for the Browns in their Thursday Night Football contest against the Bengals was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Wills injured his leg in the third quarter of the Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

The former Alabama tackle was drafted by the Browns with the No. 1 overall selection in the 2020 draft.

Roll Tide Wire will keep you updated on Jedrick Wills’ health as he continues to play throughout his rookie season in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns.

2 Seahawks rookies who might not be healthy by season opener

The Seattle Seahawks could be without two rookies for their season opener – tight end Colby Parkinson and defensive end Darrell Taylor.

The Seattle Seahawks open their regular season in Atlanta in just under two weeks but could be without a couple of rookies who are still dealing with injuries that could keep them on the bench.

Tight end Colby Parkinson has been held up since the offseason following surgery on his foot but could return in time for the first game of the season.

“It’s possible,” coach Pete Carroll said Sunday. “This week coming up is really important. If we can get him back this week, then obviously that’ll be a positive step for him, but I don’t know that yet.”

Carroll also provided an update on defensive end Darrell Taylor, who is recovering from leg surgery to repair a fracture, but is a bit further behind and could be out for a couple of weeks longer.

“It’s going to hard for him to make the opener,” Carroll confirmed. “He’s going for it, but we’ve got to get him on ground running more than he has so far. He was away for the couple of days with the birth of his daughter, but he’s steeped in rehab right now trying to get him right.”

The Seahawks have an off day Monday but resume practice on Tuesday.
