Las Vegas Raiders take Georgia DL Jalen Carter off NFL draft board

Jalen Carter is reportedly off of the Raiders’ draft board. LV has the No. 7 overall pick.

According to a report from The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, star Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter has been taken off the NFL draft board of the Las Vegas Raiders, who hold the No. 7 pick.

Tafur’s source cited Carter’s legal troubles in comparison to former Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III as the reasoning behind the move.

Carter, who anchored Georgia defensive line in back-to-back national title seasons, was once widely considered a candidate for the No. 1 pick. However, he has fallen on draft boards due to legal issues and a lackluster pro day.

ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. still has Carter rated as the No. 1 prospect on his big board, but he projects Carter to go sixth to the Detroit Lions in his most recent mock draft.

Former Georgia Bulldog star defensive end Richard Seymour has been named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Seymour will be inducted to the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, this summer as a member of the class of 2022.

Seymour was picked with the No. 6 selection of the 2001 NFL draft. Seymour helped the New England Patriots win three Super Bowls. He finished his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders from 2009-2012.

Richard Seymour totaled 57.5 sacks in his 12 season NFL career. Seymour additionally racked up 498 tackles including 98 tackles for a loss. He was named All-Pro three straight times from 2003-2005. He was named to the 2000s all-decade team.

The 2001 first-round pick played on some incredible defenses for the New England Patriots. Seymour consistently made himself available to play. Seymour played in 12 or more games during 10 years of his NFL career.

Seymour was a great leader for the Patriots. He was disruptive as a defensive end and a defensive tackle. He did not fall off after he was traded to the Oakland Raiders in 2009. Seymour finished his NFL career being named the Pro Bowl seven times.

Richard Seymour played college football with Georgia from 1997-2000. He recorded 9.5 sacks and 223 tackles during his career with the Bulldogs.

Former Chicago Bears wide receiver Javon Wims has signed with the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad. The former Georgia Bulldog Javon Wims has 28 career catches for 266 yards in his NFL career.

Now, Javon Wims will try to break into the active roster for Las Vegas. The 3-0 Raiders signed Wims following a workout.

The Chicago Bears waived Javon Wims ahead of the 2021 NFL season. Now Wims has a new NFL home in Las Vegas.

Javon Wims was drafted by Chicago in seventh-round of the 2018 NFL draft. Wims was suspended two games last season for punching New Orleans Saints cornerback C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
