Lakeland competes in the Florida State League and is a Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

Stephenson started in right field and went 1-for-4, recording one RBI and one stolen base Tuesday in Lakeland’s 7-6 loss against Fort Myers.

Stephenson has played in seven contests with Lakeland and has reached base in every game.

The former Vol has recorded eight stolen bases.

Stephenson was selected by Detroit in the seventh round (No. 207 overall) of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Stephenson appeared in 59 games during the 2022 season at Tennessee. He recorded four home runs, 28 RBIs, 46 runs, 62 hits, 17 doubles, one triple, 15 walks and 25 stolen bases in 2022.

Tennessee won the Southeastern Conference East division for the second consecutive season, the league regular season and tournament championships in 2022.
