Former Vol Seth Stephenson extends stolen base streak to five games.

Former Vol Seth Stephenson is playing with the Lakeland Flying Tigers.

Lakeland competes in the Florida State League and is a Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

Stephenson started in centerfield Sunday and went 1-for-4, recording one run and one stolen base against the St. Lucie Mets. St. Lucie defeated Lakeland, 8-4.

The former Vol has recorded seven stolen bases in five games with Lakeland. He has recorded a stolen base in every game with the Flying Tigers.

Stephenson was selected by Detroit in the seventh round (No. 207 overall) of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Stephenson appeared in 59 games during the 2022 season at Tennessee. He recorded four home runs, 28 RBIs, 46 runs, 62 hits, 17 doubles, one triple, 15 walks and 25 stolen bases in 2022.

Tennessee won the Southeastern Conference East division for the second consecutive season, the league regular season and tournament championships in 2022.
