Report: OKC Thunder scouts in attendance for several 2024/2025 high school recruits

The Thunder were in attendance for the Adidas All-American Camp, which featured several of the top 2024 and 2025 recruits.

While it’s the slowest month of the year in the NBA calendar, that hasn’t stopped teams from continuing to work — especially collecting data on potential draft prospects.

That was the case for the Oklahoma City Thunder and several other NBA teams who attended an Adidas All-American camp, per Yahoo Sports draft expert Krysteen Peek.

The Thunder were in attendance to watch a handful of high school juniors and seniors that will likely populate the 2026 and 2027 NBA draft classes. The list of participants included:

  • Five-star guard Ian Jackson, who is in the class of 2024 and committed to North Carolina
  • Four-star forward Khani Rooths, who is in the class of 2024
  • Four-star guard Kur Teng, who is in the class of 2024 and committed to Michigan State
  • Three-star forward George Turksan, who is in the class of 2024 and committed to Texas A&M
  • Four-star guard Mikel Brown Jr., who is the class of 2025
  • Four-star guard JJ Mandaquit, who is in the class of 2025

Here is a list of first-round picks the Thunder own during the 2026 and 2027 NBA drafts:

  • 2026 Thunder first-round pick
  • 2026 Clippers first-round pick
  • 2026 Rockets top-4 protected first-round pick
  • 2027 Thunder first-round pick
  • 2027 Nuggets top-5 protected first-round pick

It’s never too early to collect a profile for potential draft prospects — even if they’re three years out. The Thunder — along with most of the league — is using the summer camp to start building profiles of potential NBA players.

Latest commit pushes MSU basketball into top 5 nationally in 2024 recruiting cycle

It’s still very early, but Michigan State is off to a great start in the 2024 recruiting cycle

It’s still very early, but Michigan State is off to a great start in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The Spartans picked up their second commitment in the 2024 class earlier this week when four-star center Jesse McCulloch picked Michigan State over Alabama, Xavier and Virginia Tech. He joined fellow four-star and top 40 recruit Kur Teng who committed to the Spartans in early April.

With a pair of four-star commits, Michigan State now holds the No. 5 recruiting class nationally on 247Sports. The Spartans are behind only Rutgers at No. 4 from the Big Ten.

Michigan State signed the No. 4 recruiting class for the 2023 cycle, and is already off to a great start in 2024. It’s still very early in the process so we shouldn’t read too much into this high ranking at the moment, but it’s still nice for Spartans fans to see their team’s name towards the top of this list.

Watch: 4-star SG Kur Teng announces commitment to Michigan State

Teng had offers from 15 other schools, including Providence, Rutgers and Temple.

On Monday, Michigan State got a commitment from Bradford Christian Academy (Mass.) four-star shooting guard Kur Teng.

Watch Teng make his announcement in an interview with 247Sports.

Teng had offers from 15 other schools, including Providence and Rutgers, who were his other finalists. Asked why he picked the Spartans over the other contenders, Teng told MLive’s Brandon Champion that the way they play under coach Tom Izzo fits his style:

“They’re play style really fits me really well. I like to come off pin downs on the offensive end. Every time I watched them there’s been a similarity between them and the way I play now with my team.”

Going by the composite rankings, Teng is No. 8 among shooting guards in his class and No. 1 overall in the state of Massachusetts.
