On3’s predicts Ohio State to flip 4-star Minnesota safety commit

On3’s Matt Parker predicted 4-star Minnesota safety commit Koi Perich to flip to the Buckeyes.

With the early signing period just one week away it is a busy time period in college football recruiting.  Most of the 2024 class has already made their commitment, but nothing is official until pen meets paper which means a lot of recruiting currently is attempting to sway other schools’ commits.

That is exactly what the Buckeyes are currently attempting to do with Minnesota safety commit Koi Perich. 247 composite rates Perich as a four-star recruit as the 116th ranked player, 10th ranked safety, and top ranked player in Minnesota in the 2024 class.

Perich visited Ohio State last weekend and now On3’s Matt Parker has predicted that the Buckeyes will be successful in their attempt to flip the highly rated safety recruit.

Landing Perich would be a big addition to Ohio State’s talented group of defensive backs in the 2024 class which includes cornerbacks Aaron Scott, Bryce West, and Miles Lockhart and safeties Garrett Stover, Jaylen McClain, and Leroy Roker.

Ohio State football is actively trying to flip Minnesota safety commit

The Buckeyes are getting the spatula out #GoBucks

As the 2024 recruiting cycle has played itself out, [autotag]Ohio State football[/autotag] missed on a few key prospects, specifically at the safety position.

Some of the Buckeyes top targets opted elsewhere, so the writing was on the wall that to fill the need, a flip was going to have to happen. On Monday evening, that ball started rolling: The Buckeyes offered Minnesota safety commit,[autotag]Koi Perich[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 1-inch, 195-pound member of the secondary has been committed to the Gophers since mid-April, but the Ohio State offer has him reconsidering his options. 247Sports Bill Kurelic is reporting (subscription required) that Perich will visit Ohio State, but not for a game due to his high school football schedule.

This offer reminds me of a current Buckeye’s recruitment, quarterback Lincoln Kienholz. Both players prepped in the same region, both of them being exceptional athletes, although they play different positions. Perich is ranked as the No. 11 safety and 142nd overall prospect in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports composite.

Badgers offer three-star safety from Minnesota after junior day

Wisconsin offered Koi Perich, a class of 2024 three-star safety from Minnesota this weekend.

The Badgers offered Koi Perich, a three-star safety from Esko, Minnesota this weekend. The class of 2024 athlete was visiting Wisconsin as a part of the program’s junior day and he picked up another offer ahead of his final season of high school football.

Perich has now received five Division 1 offers, all of which have come from Big Ten schools. So far, Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern, Nebraska and his home state Minnesota have offered him.

To this point, Wisconsin has secured two commitments for the class of 2024, reeling in four-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer (The Woodlands, Texas) and cornerback Austin Alexander (Chicago Heights, Illinois).
