The Nickelodeon Orange Blimp Award is finally associated with the Kansas City Chiefs. Travis Kelce took home the honor of ‘Favorite Male Sports Star’ at the 2024 Kids Choice Awards on Saturday.
The Pro Bowl tight end was not in attendance to accept his award due to his ongoing participation at the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe. SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star hosted the annual award show, which was controlled by kids’ votes. Kelce was nominated for the award for the first time in his career and successfully won over kids worldwide.
Kelce beat out teammate Patrick Mahomes, soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and NBA legends LeBron James and Stephen Curry in the category. The veteran Chiefs star continues to rise in popularity in many facets while maintaining his status as one of the best NFL players today.
Mahomes remains winless in the category after being nominated yearly since it was established for the award show. Taylor Swift won ‘Favorite Female Artist,’ Favorite Global Music Star’, and ‘Favorite Ticket of the Year’ for ‘The Eras Tour.’
