Former Michigan State football DB on Houston Christian’s roster

A former MSU DB has found his new home at Houston Christian

Following the 2024 spring showcase, Michigan State reserve DB Khary Crump made the decision to enter the transfer portal, leaving the program. Crump’s legacy at MSU will sadly be known from his involvement in the infamous tunnel incident with the University of Michigan.

While a public announcement was never made, Crump has been listed on Houston Christian’s football roster ahead of the 2024 season, showing where he will conclude his college football career.

Michigan State football reserve DB Khary Crump enters transfer portal

Michigan State football saw a mass exodus of players this week as the spring transfer portal window came to a close. However, we can still expect a few more names to trickle in as there is apparently a bit of a lag on the processing for some of these. We saw that on Wednesday when defensive back Khary Crump entered the portal.

Crump was a former transfer from Arizona who has largely been a reserve for the Spartans.

Michigan State football DB Khary Crump agrees to plea deal in tunnel incident

Khary Crump has agreed to a plea deal for his role in the Michigan tunnel incident

It feels like the infamous saga of the Michigan tunnel incident has gone on forever at this point, but a major domino has fallen and hopefully the Michigan State football program can finally move on.

On Saturday, it was reported by Matt Wenzel of MLive that Michigan State football defensive back Khary Crump will agree to a plea deal for his involvement in the incident, in which video footage showed Crump swinging his helmet at a Michigan football player.

According to Crump’s lawyer Mike Nichols, as reported by Wenzel, the plea will have the original charge of felonious assault removed, and he will plead guilty to two misdemeanors: simple assault and disorderly conduct.

“It is obviously a very positive step for Khary,” Nichols said on Saturday. “It’s just one step. He is working very, very hard on himself, on his grades, on his conditioning. I think he is going to be a great comeback story.”
