The Eagles might not have gotten the spotlight in “Hard Knocks” or the NFL’s newest project, “Quarterback,” but one veteran Eagles player gets the spotlight in September on Prime Video.

All-Pro veteran Eagles center Jason Kelce will get his time in the spotlight on Prime Video in September with the documentary Kelce. The feature-length documentary highlights Kelce’s life on and off the field during the 2022-23 season.

The announcement came Monday, August 14, as Amazon and Skydance shared the news in a press release. The documentary is set to premiere on September 14, just two days before the return of Thursday Night Football exclusively on Prime, with the Minnesota Vikings revisiting the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Jason Kelce has established himself as one of the most compelling and influential characters in sports, both on and off the field,” said Matt Newman, head of Prime Video Original sports content. “We’re privileged to partner with Skydance Sports, 9.14 Pictures, Vera Y Productions, and NFL Films on this project, which welcomes fans into the psyche of one of the greatest centers in the history of the league for what is arguably the wildest and most eventful season of his illustrious career.”

The intimate and emotional documentary chronicles Kelce as it begins with him confronting the question that was also on fans’ minds – will Kelce retire?

After returning for his 12th NFL season, Kelce embarked on a historical journey on and off the field. The documentary highlights the arrival of his third daughter and the debut of his chart-topping podcast, New Heights, co-hosted by Kansas City Chiefs tight end and brother, Travis Kelce.

The documentary rounds out with the Super Bowl history-making appearance, putting the entire Kelce family in the spotlight and storylines throughout the week.

Their newest project was directed and produced by 9.14 Pictures’ Don Argott. It was produced by 9.14 Pictures, Vera Y Productions and NFL Films. It is also produced by Connor Barwin, David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold and John Weinbach of Skydance Sports. It’s also produced by Ross Ketover, Pat Kelleher and Keith Crossrow of NFL Films with Sheena M. Joyce and Larry Platt as producers.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce quickest at his position to 9000 career receiving yards

With 28 yards against the #Broncos on Saturday, #Chiefs TE Travis Kelce became the quickest ever at his position to reach 9,000 career receiving yards.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce has done it again, breaking another NFL pace record.

With 28 yards against the Denver Broncos on Saturday, Kelce has officially reached 9,000 career receiving yards in just his 127th game played. That’s quicker than Buccaneers TE Rob Gronkowski, who previously held the record at 140 career games. Kelce now becomes one of just six tight ends to ever have 9,000 or more receiving yards in his career, joining Rob Gronkowski (9,149), Shannon Sharpe (9,961), Antonio Gates (11,841), Jason Witten (13,046) and Tony Gonzalez (15,127). Gronk is the only other active player from that list.

The crazy thing about all of this is that Kelce sat out his entire rookie season due to a knee injury. Had that not been the case, he could have reached 9,000 career receiving yards even sooner.

Kelce has seen a pretty prolific season in 2021, earning his seventh consecutive Pro Bowl selection and his sixth consecutive 1000-yard receiving season. He also earned his first-ever AFC Offensive Player of the Week award. During last week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Kelce also reached 700 career catches, becoming just the seventh tight end in NFL history to do so. He accomplished the feat quicker than any other tight end in NFL history, ousting former Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten.

Kelce’s 9000 receiving yard wasn’t the only record he captured on Saturday. He also scored his 57th career touchdown, which is tied for No. 2 in franchise history with former Chiefs WR Otis Taylor.

In his ninth NFL season, Kelce is showing no signs of slowing down. There’s no reason to believe that he won’t be able to continue crushing NFL records moving forward as he builds up his resume for what is sure to be a Hall of Fame career.

4 Chiefs players named to PFF’s top-50 players of 2021

All four #Chiefs players are within the top-20 and two are within the top-3 of PFF’s list.

Four Kansas City Chiefs players have been named to the Pro Football Focus list of the top-50 NFL players heading into the 2021 season. This is an analytics-based projection on what PFF believes to be the top players in the league during the upcoming year. They take a look at previous stats and grades and adjust based on circumstances related to this upcoming season.

All of the players from Kansas City who have been selected for the list are within the top-20, including two players among the three best players in football. They’re the only squad with that many players in the top-20. The Chiefs are tied with the Green Bay Packers for the most players in PFF’s top-50 with four. They’re also the only AFC team with four players in the top-50.

Here’s a look at the four Chiefs players named to the list, in descending order:

Travis Kelce’s Super Bowl LIV receptions: 5.5

After catching 10 of 12 targets for 134 yards and three touchdowns in the Chiefs’ 51-31 comeback victory over the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round, Kelce was held to three catches and 30 yards on four targets in the AFC Championship against the Tennessee Titans.

The five-time Pro Bowler totaled 97 receptions, 1,229 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season. He recorded more than five receptions on 10 occasions.

Only four teams allowed fewer receptions per game to tight ends than the 49ers’ 4.1. Kelce will be heavily targeted by QB Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid as the Chiefs’ No. 1 option in the passing game, but the Niners do a great job of limiting yards after the catch.

I’d expect a drop in his efficiency after averaging 12.8 yards per reception in the regular season, but I’m taking the OVER 5.5 (-147) as Reid and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy scheme to keep him involved, especially on third downs and near the goal line.

Travis Kelce’s Super Bowl LIV receiving yards: 76.5

No team allowed fewer receiving yards per game to tight ends in the regular season than the 49ers. They surrendered just 34.5 yards per game to the position. Kelce topped this projection in each of his first four games of the regular season, but he did so just thrice more through the final 12 games and in only one of the Chiefs’ two playoff games.

As mentioned above, I like Kelce to stay involved on key possessions and stay closer to the line of scrimmage. The Niners will wrap him up down the field and limit his yards after the catch. Take the UNDER 76.5 (-111) as Mahomes and his go-to target are forced more into more of a possession-based passing attack.
