It’s an election year in America and the two candidates are campaigning to try and earn everybody’s vote when it comes to the next presidential term.
Joe Biden, who is the Democratic nominee going up against incumbent Donald Trump, was on the campaign trail at Gettysburg and he cited Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers’s words in his speed. Rivers had a passionate speech about police brutality while he was still the coach of the Los Angeles Clippers while inside the bubble in Orlando and Biden used those words.
Biden used Rivers’ plea for police reform in his speech and it was a pretty powerful moment in his presidential campaign.

Rivers then said how honored he was to see that as he told The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey:
I am honored that Vice President Biden chose my words as an exmaple for needing social change. These are human rights issues that we are fighting for. Every American should want social justice for all regardless of race, gebder or political views.

The Sixers brought in Rivers for his social justice views just as much for his basketball acumen. He is a guy who wants to see equality for all and this is a good hire both for Philadelphia’s chances on the floor and their activity in the community. [lawrence-related id=38192,38189,38186]
