Jets vs. Bills inactive: Jamison Crowder officially back for New York’s season finale

Jamison Crowder returns for the Jets’ season finale against the Bills. Full inactives:

The Jets are getting one of their starting wide receivers back for their season finale, as Jamison Crowder is active against the Bills.

Crowder has not played since New York’s Week 15 loss to the Dolphins due to a calf injury. The veteran slot receiver has caught 50 passes for 431 yards and two touchdowns this season. He has a good chance to become Gang Green’s leading receiver for a third straight season with Braxton Berrios and Elijah Moore out in Week 18.

Rounding out the Jets’ inactives are Mike White, La’Mical Perine, Jabari Zuniga, Jonathan Marshall, Isaiah Dunn, Austin Walter and the recently-signed Greg Senat.

The Bills will be without starting wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders as they chase an AFC East title in Week 18. Also out for Buffalo are reserve tight end Tommy Sweeney, Marquez Stevenson, Bobby Hart and Efe Obada.

The Jets will be without their No. 1 wide receiver against the Bills on Sunday afternoon, as Jamison Crowder is inactive with a groin injury.

Crowder tweaked his groin in practice during the week and was downgraded to doubtful on Saturday despite practicing on a limited basis on Friday. Crowder caught seven passes for 115 yards and one touchdown against Buffalo in Week 1, so it will be on the likes of Breshad Perriman and Denzel Mims, who is making his NFL debut after being activated from injured reserve, to make up for that lost production.

The Jets are also without Sam Ficken, who sustained a groin injury of his own during the week. Sergio Castillo will make his NFL debut and kick in place of Ficken. Alex Lewis is inactive with an injury, while Cameron Clark remains out of action despite being activated from injured reserve on Saturday. Jordan Willis has been traded to the 49ers, but is inactive, as the deal is not yet official, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

On a positive note, Crowder being sidelined coincides with Sam Darnold and Mekhi Becton’s return to the starting lineup. Becton missed New York’s last two games with a shoulder injury and its offensive line struggled mightily over that span, allowing 13 quarterback hurries, 10 quarterback hits and five sacks. The Louisville product will assume his starting spot at left tackle and is tasked with slowing down Mario Addison and Jerry Hughes as he did in Week 1. The Jets’ offense sputtered with Darnold on the sideline, as Joe Flacco underwhelmed and posted only 10 points in two starts under center.

As for the Bills, they will be without starting wide receiver John Brown and running back T.J. Yeldon, who took on an increased role in Buffalo’s ground game the last two weeks.
