Last week, Georgia star wide receiver George Pickens suffered a torn ACL in practice and will miss most, likely all, of the 2021 college football season.
It’s all about the “next man up” mentality for Georgia. Unfortunately, Georgia’s next man up, receiver Jermaine Burton, is now dealing with a knee injury of his own.
The sophomore was carted off the practice field during Tuesday’s practice.
According to DawgNation, Burton suffered a hyperextended knee and the extent of the damage is not yet clear.
Burton had a great freshman season in 2020, especially once JT Daniels took over at quarterback for the second half of the year. Burton, a former 4-star out of Calabasas, California, had 27 catches for 404 yards and 3 touchdowns last season.
Georgia has not yet made any announcements on the injury. Kirby Smart will speak to the media on Saturday.
