92 days until Alabama football kicks off the 2024 season

In 92 days the Kalen DeBoer era of Alabama football will officially get underway!

In 92 days, Kalen DeBoer will usher in a new era of Alabama Crimson Tide football, replacing the legendary [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] as head coach in Tuscaloosa.

Coach DeBoer and the Crimson Tide will take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Aug. 31 to kick off the 2024 college football season inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Here at Roll Tide Wire, we will be counting down the days until Alabama football takes the field.

Freshman defensive lineman [autotag]Jeremiah Beaman[/autotag] currently wears No. 92 for the Crimson Tide but today we look back at the previous player who wore No. 92, [autotag]Justin Eboigbe[/autotag].

Eboigbe played for the Tide from 2019-23 where he accumulated 123 total tackles, 16 for loss, and nine sacks. Eboigbe had a monster season in 2023 for Alabama racking up 11.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks on his way to becoming a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Chargers.

Top 5 recruiting wins for Alabama in the 2024 recruiting class

Here are some of Alabama football’s biggest wins from the 2024 recruiting class.

It took quite a bit of work for Alabama to hold on to some of the top recruits in the country for the 2024 recruiting class. After a coaching change, the general belief would be that numerous signees and current players on the roster would transfer or de-commit. That was not the case in a broader sense.

Alabama lost one signee from the 2024 recruiting class. Outside of that, the new coaching staff was able to sell the other signees on their futures as well as the future of the football program.

While the new coaching staff was not a factor in early national signing day, there were some key wins on the recruiting trail.

Roll Tide Wire takes a look at the top five recruiting wins in the  2024 recruiting class for the Alabama football program.

How did Alabama commits perform in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game?

Six Alabama commits participated in this year’s Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. Roll Tide Wire takes a look at how each of them perfomed on Saturday afternoon.

The Alabama football program was well-represented in the 2023 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. Six Alabama commits participated in the contest in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Southern Miss’ campus.

Cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe, safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman, linebacker Quinton “QB” Reese, offensive lineman William Sanders, and wide receiver Ryan Williams competed for Team Alabama on Saturday afternoon.

It was an impressive showing for the Alabama commits and their teammates. Team Alabama knocked off Team Mississippi by a final score of 26-17.

Roll Tide Wire takes a closer look at how Alabama commits performed in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game.

7 Alabama commits to participate in Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game

Seven Alabama commits will participate in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Game on Dec. 16

The Alabama football program is annually represented at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. This year will be no different. Seven Alabama commits will suit up for Team Alabama in this year’s classic.

The seven Alabama commits that made the roster are Saraland wide receiver Ryan Williams, Clay-Chalkville cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe, Brookwood offensive lineman William Sanders, Gadsden City safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., Central-Phenix City defensive lineman Isaia Faga, Ramsay linebacker Quinton “QB” Reese, and A.H. Parker defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman.

Several other Alabama targets that will be a part of the game are Tuscaloosa County running back Kevin Riley, Foley wide receiver Perry Thompson, Meridian (MS) running back Daniel Hill, and Houston (MS) defensive lineman William Echoles.

Saraland’s Ryan Williams (1) scores a touchdown against Clay-Chalkville during the AHSAA Class 6A football state championship game at Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Friday December 8, 2023.

This all-star game typically features some of the top talent in the south. Specifically, the Magnolia and Yellowhammer states. It always seems to be an interesting game between the two states. This year should be no exception.

I think it is safe to say that the Crimson Tide will be well-represented on both sides of the ball Saturday, Dec. 16th. The game will be played at Southern Mississippi’s M.M. Roberts Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest regarding Alabama football recruiting news.

Na’eem Offord is returning to the Plains for his second game this season.

Offord is one of several major Auburn targets who plays for Parker High School. They have already landed a commitment from 2025 defensive lineman [autotag]Jourdin Crawford[/autotag] and are working to flip 2024 defensive lineman [autotag]Jeremiah Beaman[/autotag] from Alabama.

Alabama DL commit Jeremiah Beaman has ‘amazing’ official visit to Auburn

Auburn is looking to steal the talented defensive lineman from Alabama.

[autotag]Jeremiah Beaman[/autotag] is one of the top defensive linemen in the country and despite being committed to Alabama, he is a major Auburn target. The Birmingham product was in Auburn over the weekend to watch Auburn take on the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs and the official visit left quite an impression.

“It was amazing,” Beaman told Auburn Undercover’s Jason Caldwell. “Just the love and the amount of support they have around the facility to make me feel like I’m a wanted prospect.”

He is the No. 66 overall player and No. 9 defensive lineman in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 6 player from Alabama.

Checking in at 6-foot-4 and 265 pounds, he is an ideal fit for Auburn’s defensive line, something defensive line coach [autotag]Jeremy Garrett[/autotag] has let him know.

“They need defensive linemen like me with my size and athleticism,” he said of Auburn’s pitch. “They want big ends on the edge like myself.”

Four-star Alabama commit Jeremiah Beaman sets official visit to Auburn

Can Hugh Freeze and Auburn pry another top recruit away from Nick Saban?

[autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and the rest of Auburn’s coaching staff have shown the ability to flip elite recruits from their rivals and they have a new target in mind. This time it’s four-star defensive lineman [autotag]Jeremiah Beaman[/autotag], who committed to Alabama on May 21.

Their work is paying off as he has scheduled an official visit to the Plains for Sept. 29-Oct. 1, according to a report from On3’s Jeffrey Lee. That is the weekend that Auburn will host the Georgia Bulldogs.

“I’m committed to Alabama,” he told Lee. “But I gave my word to Auburn before I committed that I would like to take a OV this fall.”

Beaman is the No. 74 overall player and No. 11 defensive lineman in the On3 industry ranking. The Birmingham native is also the No. 7 player from Alabama.

The visit will be his third trip to Auburn this year, he unofficially visited in March and April before committing to the Crimson Tide.

4-star Alabama commit sets Auburn official visit

Auburn is looking to steal Jeremiah Beaman from Nick Saban and Alabama.

Four-star defensive lineman [autotag]Jeremiah Beaman[/autotag] is committed to Alabama but that hasn’t stopped [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and Co. from recruiting him. They are making progress as Beaman has scheduled an official visit to Auburn.

The Birmingham native was in Auburn over the weekend to watch Auburn’s Elite Camp and told Auburn Undercover’s Christian Clemente that he will be returning to the Plains for an official visit for the Iron Bowl.

“Yeah, they (Auburn) definitely have a shot,” Beaman told Clemente. “I feel like everybody has a shot. We’re building a relationship and a bond. That relationship means a lot. Just because I committed doesn’t mean our relationships and bonds go nowhere.”

Beaman is the No. 103 overall player and No. 13 defensive lineman in the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is also the No. 7 player in Alabama.

He committed to the Crimson Tide on May 21 but his recruitment is far from over as he keeps in touch with Auburn’s coaching staff.

“We’re building a great relationship so I feel like we can keep going.”

The 6-foot-4, 265-pounder made 50 tackles, 10.0 sacks and intercepted three passes last season for Parker High School according to MaxPreps.

Oregon, Ole Miss and Alabama all recruit 4-star DL from the class of 2024

Three different Power 5 programs all recruited four-star defensive line prospects from the class of 2024 this past weekend.

The recruiting race had two clear themes this past weekend: quarterbacks and pass rushers were in high demand. Five programs added QB prospects from the class of 2024, while three schools picked up commitments from blue-chip defensive line recruits.

Here are the defensive linemen, where they’re playing in high school and where they’re headed to compete at the next level.

Durant (Okla.) 4-star DL Xadavien Sims: Oregon

Sims (6-foot-3, 275 pounds) is ranked No. 1 overall in the state of Oklahoma by 247Sports and No. 22 at his position. Sims also had offers from 21 other schools, including Michigan State and TCU.

The Ducks also scored the biggest prize of the weekend by recruiting four-star quarterback Michael Van Buren. Their 14-strong class of 2024 now ranks just outside the top five nationally.

Bay Springs (Miss.) 4-star DL Kamron Beavers: Ole Miss

Beavers (6-foot-3, 305 pounds) ranks fourth in Mississippi and No. 17 among DL in his class according to the composite rankings. Eleven other schools made offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, LSU and Texas.

That makes eight recruits for the Rebels’ 2024 class, which ranks No. 24 in the country.

Parker (Ala.) 4-star DL Jeremiah Beaman: Alabama

Beaman (6-foot-4, 265 pounds) ranks highest in this group, coming in at No. 11 at his position in the composite rankings. 247Sports has him at No. 72 nationally in the ’24 class. He had 22 other offers, including other top contenders at Auburn, Georgia and Clemson.

Alabama got a significant boost in the recruiting rankings from landing Beaman, rising to No. 16 nationally.

Alabama Football lands commitment from in-state, 2024 4-Star DL Jeremiah Beaman

2024 defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman announced his commitment to Alabama on Sunday evening. Beaman chose the Crimson Tide over other programs like Clemson, Georgia, and Auburn.

Defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman of the 2024 class announced his commitment to Alabama on Sunday evening. Beaman chose the Crimson Tide over programs such as Clemson, Auburn, and Georgia.

Beaman plays for A.H. Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. As a junior, he recorded 50 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and three interceptions.

One thing that stands out about Beaman is his size at 6-foot-4, 265 pounds. He can play a variety of different positions along the defensive line. His versatility could certainly help with replacing Justin Eboigbe after he heads to the NFL after the 2023 season.

Beaman joins a 2023 recruiting class that is ranked No. 16 in the country. He will be joined by five-stars Jaylen Mbakwe and Julian Sayin as well as four-stars Rico Scott, Cayden Jones, and Sterling Dixon.

Roll Tide Wire breaks down Jeremiah Beaman’s recruiting profile.
