Javon Hargrave is now a first-time Pro Bowler after the postseason alternate was named to the team as a replacement for Packers injured defensive tackle, Kenny Clark.

Hargrave had a career season in 2021, Logging six sacks in the first five games of the season before opposing teams started to slide protection Hargrave’s way and double him.

Hargrave finished the season with just 1 1/2 sacks, logging a career-high 7 1/2 sacks, 9 tackles for loss, and one postseason sack in the Eagles playoff loss to the Buccaneers.

The talented defensive tackle carries a hefty salary cap hit into the 2022 NFL season, but he should again help anchor a Philadelphia defensive front that’ll be in flux with Brandon Graham returning, along with Derek Barnett and Ryan Kerrigan likely departing.

Javon Hargrave has found his groove through three weeks of his second season with the Eagles, and as the Birds start preparation to face the Chiefs, the game-wrecking defensive tackle is on a historic pace.

According to Eagles public relations guru, John Gonoude, Hargrave is the first NFL defensive tackle since Warren Sapp in 1999, to log 15+ tackles and 4.0+ sacks in the first 3 games of the season.

That season, Sapp logged 4 passes defended, 4 forced fumbles, 12.5 sacks, 41 total tackles, and 13 tackles for loss on the way to being named All-Pro and Defensive Player of the Year.

We’ve previously predicted that Hargrave would smash the 23 tackles for loss that T.J. Watt recorded in 2020 to lead the league, and through three games, Hargrave is on pace for 27.5 tackles for loss, and almost 21 sacks.
