Nebraska football capitalized on an interception late in the second quarter to score another touchdown and extend the lead to 14-0 following the extra point. This time, it was fullback Janiran Bonner who was able to score the touchdown via a creative play call from offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield.
The touchdown score culminated in a drive started by an interception. From there, Nebraska was able to march down the field and score its second touchdown of the day.
For Bonner, this was his second touchdown of the season, giving the Huskers a bit of breathing room heading into the halftime locker room.
It’s been a battle of the defenses for the entirety of the scheme. Fortunately for the Huskers, they have been able to make plays when needed most. It will be interesting to see if scoring will be hard to come by in the second half.
