Former LSU TE Jamal Pettigrew finds FCS transfer destination

Pettigrew won’t be going too far from where he began his college career.

Former LSU tight end Jamal Pettigrew has found a new place to finish out his college career — and it’s not too far from where he started it.

On Saturday, it was announced that Pettigrew had chosen to transfer to McNeese State to join the Cowboys after entering the portal last week.

The senior Pettigrew will be immediately eligible to play since he’s transferring to the FCS level.

Pettigrew doesn’t have a tremendous amount to show on the stats sheet, reeling in one catch for the Tigers for  -1 yards en route to the national championship. In 2017, he had one reception for 18 yards.

The loss of Pettigrew comes shortly after Stephen Sullivan and Thaddeus Moss to the 2020 NFL Draft.
