Gators still among top-3 schools in play for 4-star Peach State CB

Florida remains in the top three for this blue-chip secondary bruiser.

Four-star cornerback [autotag]Jalyn Crawford[/autotag] out of Lilburn (Georgia) Parkview in the 2024 recruiting cycle released his top three preferred schools on Twitter late Friday morning. Among the triad of finalists are the Florida Gators, who join the LSU Tigers and Auburn Tigers as finalists for his highly-sought talents.

“They’ve been at the top for me. They’re already at the top,” Crawford told All Gators in regard to the Orange and Blue. “They got good people, good facilities, everything’s good. It’s a nice vibe, me and the coaches, we all get along with each other.

Frankly, the recent announcement should not come as much surprise to anyone who has been following the 6-foot, 180-pound defender. Since making an official visit to the Swamp back in April, the Peach State product has had Florida among his top-three schools.

Crawford is ranked No. 162 overall and No. 16 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 174 and 20, respectively. He currently carries a 247Sports prediction for Auburn and LSU while On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine puts AU in front with a 71.0% chance of signing him, followed by LSU at a 22.9% mark.

Four-star CB Jalyn Crawford is trending towards Auburn

He would be Auburn’s third four-star cornerback in the class.

Four-star cornerback [autotag]Jalyn Crawford[/autotag] is one of Auburn’s top targets regardless of position.

Both [autotag]Wesley McGriff[/autotag] and [autotag]Zac Etheridge[/autotag] have been recruiting him and their hard work appears to be paying off as multiple On3 insiders believe he will be picking Auburn.

Cole Pinkston and Chad Simmons both logged predictions that he will commit to the Tigers on Friday, making them the heavy favorites over SEC rivals Florida and LSU. Auburn now has a 71% chance to land the Lilburn, Georgia, native according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

He is the No. 174 overall player and No. 20 cornerback in the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also the No. 25 player from Georgia.

Crawford took official visits to Florida, Auburn and LSU during June and is expected to announce his decision sometime during July. His trip to the Plains was his fifth time visiting Auburn.

Auburn is looking to add Crawford to an already loaded defensive back class that includes four-star cornerbacks [autotag]A’Mon Lane[/autotag] and [autotag]Jayden Lewis[/autotag] as well as four-star safety [autotag]Kensley Faustin[/autotag].

LSU makes the cut for top 150 cornerback in 2024

The Tigers are the heavy favorite to land Jalyn Crawford, per On3.

Though there’s still a lot of time between now and early signing day in December, LSU seems to be in a good position to land Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview cornerback [autotag]Jalyn Crawford[/autotag].

The Tigers recently made the top 11 for the 6-foot, 180-pound prospect. They’re joined by North Carolina, Florida, Miami, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Louisville, Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee and Auburn.

Though he hasn’t trimmed his list down much, there’s reason to believe the Tigers are emerging as a frontrunner. They hold a Crystal Ball projection from 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong — though it was placed nearly a year ago — and they have a wide lead per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine at 77.6%.

Auburn also seems to be a top contender for Crawford, who ranks as the No. 16 cornerback and No. 135 overall player nationally according to On3’s industry rankings.

LSU’s consensus top-10 2024 class currently features 14 players and two cornerbacks, [autotag]Zion Ferguson[/autotag] and [autotag]Wallace Foster[/autotag]. The Tigers will hope to soon add Crawford’s name to that list.

Four star CB Jalyn Crawford includes Auburn in top schools list

Crawford is one of the top cornerbacks in the 2024 class.

A longtime Auburn target has listed the Tigers within his top 11 list.

[autotag]Jalyn Crawford[/autotag], a four-star cornerback of the 2024 recruiting cycle from Lilburn, Georgia, dropped his top schools list on Monday. Auburn made the cut, as well as programs such as LSU, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.

Auburn head coach [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] has made Crawford a priority since his hiring. Freeze extended an offer to Crawford on Dec. 20, and Crawford has been on two unofficial visits since.

In a recent interview with On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Crawford says that proximity is a major factor when considering Auburn.

(Auburn) is only two hours away. My family is going to be able to be at all the home games. The people there could develop me as a player on and off the field.

In honor of Auburn making Crawford’s top 11, here’s a look at what Crawford brings to the table.

4-star Peach State CB locks in official dates with Florida

Florida is setting up summer official visits, and Georgia four-star cornerback Jalyn Crawford has locked in his trip dates.

The Florida Gators are getting Parkview (Lilburn, Georgia) cornerback [autotag]Jalyn Crawford[/autotag] back on campus for an official visit from June 2-4, according to Gators Online.

Crawford first visited the Swamp at the beginning of the month, which is when he received a scholarship offer, and the Gators have stayed on him since. A good impression has gone a long way and Florida seems to be in Crawford’s top three programs at this point.

Getting him back for an official visit should help both sides decide how serious they are about one another.

“It’s gonna be real big for them,” Crawford said. “I really like them down there. I saw good things. And talking to Coach Napier, he’s a good dude. A lot of good vibes and good people down there.”

Defensive backs coach Corey Raymond is another staff member Crawford appreciates thanks to the many players he’s sent to the NFL, plenty as first-rounders.

Auburn and LSU might be the only other schools competing with Florida at this point for Crawford’s services. He has official visits scheduled for each of his top three, with Auburn getting him on June 9 and LSU on June 16. Both programs have hosted him a good amount, but Auburn is considered the favorite right now.

The plan is for Crawford to commit after his official visits. He figures it will be near the end of July, but that sounds like a loose timeline.

Crawford is ranked No. 135 nationally on the On3 industry rankings and No. 16 among cornerbacks in the class of 2024. 247Sports is even higher on him, ranking him at No. 93 overall and No. 9 among those at his position on the Top 247.

Four-star CB Jalyn Crawford sets official visit to Auburn

The Tigers have received one prediction to land the talented corner.

One of Auburn’s top targets returned to Auburn over the weekend and has set his official visit to the Plains. Four-star cornerback [autotag]Jalyn Crawford[/autotag] was in Auburn Saturday and will return for an official visit from June 9-11, he told Christian Clemente of Auburn Undercover.

His visit was his third of the year as the Tigers continue to prioritize the Lilburn, Georgia product. Crawford has also set official visits to Florida (June 2-4) and LSU (June 16-18) and is planning to make his commitment at the end of June.

He is the No. 129 overall player and No. 14 cornerback in the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is the No. 23 player from Georgia.

The 6-foot, 180-pounder was able to spend time with most of the defensive coaching staff on his most recent visit but spent most of the time with defensive back coaches [autotag]Zac Etheridge[/autotag] and [autotag]Wesley McGriff[/autotag].

He is teammates with two other Auburn targets, five-star wide receiver [autotag]Mike Matthews[/autotag] and three-star defensive back [autotag]Antonio White[/autotag]. Auburn has offered both of them with Mathews also receiving a basketball offer.

Auburn and LSU have both received a crystal ball to land Crawford with Auburn’s coming on March 15, 2023, and LSU’s back on June 11, 2022.

LSU hosting one of its top 2024 targets on campus this weekend

LSU is looking to close the deal with four-star Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview cornerback Jalyn Crawford.

The Tigers already have 11 commitments in their 2024 class, and they will hope to make progress toward another this weekend as they host four-star cornerback [autotag]Jalyn Crawford[/autotag], one of their top uncommitted targets, on campus for a visit.

The Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview prospect ranks as the No. 122 player nationally and No. 14 cornerback according to the On3 Industry Rankings. This will be his fourth total unofficial visit to campus but his first since last April.

The Tigers have a lot of momentum here. They’re the heavy favorite to land him according to the On3 Prediction Machine at 82.9%, and they hold a Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports national recruiting director Steve Wiltfong.

However, Auburn did receive a Crystal Ball projection earlier this month.

LSU currently has the No. 2-ranked recruiting class in 2024, and coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] already has two cornerbacks committed in [autotag]Zion Ferguson[/autotag] and [autotag]Wallace Foster[/autotag]. However, Crawford would become the top-ranked defensive back and second-ranked player overall in the Tigers’ class.

Four-star cornerback Jalyn Crawford crystal balled to Auburn

Auburn is trending upward for four-star cornerback Jalyn Crawford.

Auburn has already landed two four-star cornerbacks and they could be close to landing a third.

Auburn Undercover’s Christian Clemente cast a crystal ball for the Tigers to land four-star cornerback [autotag]Jalyn Crawford[/autotag]. Crawford also has a crystal ball to the LSU Tigers but that was cast back on June 11, 2022.

Crawford is being recruited by both [autotag]Zach Etheridge[/autotag] and [autotag]Wesley McGriff[/autotag]. Both of them coach the secondary with McGriff focusing on corners and Etheridge on safeties but there is an overlap.

Crawford is the No. 113 overall player and No. 11 cornerback in the 247Sports Composite ranking. The Lilburn native is also the No. 19 player from Georgia.

The 6-foot, 180-pounder has visited Auburn three times already and is expected to be in attendance for the A-Day game and officially visit at some point.

Auburn’s 2024 recruiting class currently has three commits and is the No. 22 ranked class in the country according to 247Sports. They have already landed four-star quarterback Walker White and four-star cornerbacks Jayden Lewis and A’Mon Lane.

Clemson reportedly trending for 4-star LSU lean

LSU is a heavy favorite for Jalyn Crawford, but a recent Clemson visit may have changed things.

LSU has long been considered the favorite for four-star Parkview (Lilburn, Ga.) cornerback [autotag]Jalyn Crawford[/autotag], and though that reminds the case, another set of Tigers seems to be trending in his recruitment.

Crawford — who ranks as the No. 121 overall player in the class of 2024 and No. 10 cornerback — picked up an offer from Clemson in December, and he took a visit there last weekend for the first time since. He told On3’s Jeremy Johnson (subscription required) that the Clemson visit made quite an impression and the Tigers now sit among the teams at the top of his board.

He received a Crystal Ball projection for LSU from 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong back in June, and On3 lists LSU as an 85.8% favorite, followed by Tennessee and then Clemson, on its Recruiting Prediction Machine.

LSU will hope to maintain its lead for one of the top targets in the 2024 class.
